Fair prices, good work, nice guys, Subaru experts. Heard about them from another Subaru owner and was not disappointed.

My wife had gone in for a state inspection. They identify that the tires were starting to get bald (which was probably true). My wife was going to take the car to the typical tire shop we use to replace them (which is 5min away on low speed suburban roads) but the attendant guilts her about being a bad mom for being willing to drive her children even a mile with tires like that and that she should definitely get fancy run flat tires - for a toyota sienna minivan! Long story short, I get back from my business trip to find that our minivan now has nicer - more expensive tires than our sporty BMW sedan... I almost never write reviews but this explotive behavior towards a mom who was out of her element is completely unacceptable read more

Awful service. I was going to fill the tank by myself but service guy didn't allow me to do that. Don't know why.

At best, our attendant (I think he was the owner) is rude. At worst, he is a rip-off man. The station is full serve, and I asked for regular gas. He pumped premium gas instead. When he gave me the receipt, I questioned the price explaining I asked for regular gas. He replied, "It's only money" in a loud and rude voice. He was extremely dismissive and did not apologize. He was so rude I felt I should avoid a confrontation with him for my own safety, and so I left. It seemed like he intentionally took advantage of me because I had out of state plates and would not be in the area and so I would pursue the issue, however, I can't prove it. It could have been a mistake, but why not apologize for the miscommunication. This place has enough bad reviews that I suggest you go elsewhere. read more

I didn't realize it was full service & got out. The attendant came over when my card was in the machine and I have my phone number for reward points so I was just explaining I'll punch it in and then he can pump it, idc, and he yelled at me and was so rude and talked to me so condescending and demanding- I was out of gas almost but I was appaled so I left & will never return. read more

Please do yourself a favor and avoid this location for your state inspection. They charged me $55, instead the $35 it's supposed to be. They explained and promised multiple times that it was going to fail inspection if I didn't leave it for expensive repairs. When I explained that all I wanted was the state inspection and I'd have it repaired elsewhere, now it suddenly passes inspection? That's pretty dishonest just to get some extra money from a repair. read more

The good things about this gas station are the prices, which are usually the cheapest within miles, it's location right off Route 2 and the fact that it's full service. The bad is the gas station attendant. It's ironic that there's a sign stating their commitment to customer service right next to one of the pumps, because this attendant may be the least friendly and helpful I've ever come across. He never says hello or thank you, he stares at you until you tell him what you want, and he tends to pump gas and get payment for one car at a time. Even if you're the first one in line, don't expect to be the first to leave. It's taken me close to 10 minutes to get my gas here at times... but I keep going because it's cheap. This place is amazing! The father/son team that owns and operates this Shell are phenomenal. I've had my car either serviced or inspected here several times throughout the years and the quality is outstanding with the prices being WAY less than I would pay at the dealer. And not only is the quality good, they do the work FAST! I needed a battery replacement and simply drove in, Bill had one in stock, they swapped out the old one while I waited and I was on my way in no time. Amazing! So, if you live locally and want quality work while supporting a local, family-owned business, you should DEFINITELY be coming here for your minor repairs. read more

Pleasant Street Shell is great. The people there are very nice and for Shell it is surprising cheap. It is in great condition and not anything like a run down gas station. I have been for service too and it was great. They don't really have a convenience store but I don't really think it was needed. Would really recommend here!!! read more

Took car in for inspection and didn't pass on tire wear (something I'd known might be an issue). I hadn't planned on purchasing tires here, but they provided estimates with four different options. Checking the options against The Internet, found that they were all good values. Went with option 3, dropped car off at 5:45 am (they actually open at 6am, but were happy to take the car that early and were already getting ready). Work was completed by noon with the inspection completed without having to ask. Great service! read more

These guys are great. It is a father/son owned operation. You can see the father regularly weeding the property, planting flowers, etc. this morning he was planting mums. Clearly they take pride in their business. I get gas there on occasion but I have also gotten inspections. They were very good and did not try to sell a dime of services that I didn't need. As a test I sent my gf in with her 2006 civic and she received the same no nonsense service. They do not seem to be chit chatters but who cares? They are honest and take pride in their business. This is my favorite gas station anywhere. I first noticed the courtesy and professionalism of the attendants. I appreciate people who take pride in what they do. I also noticed that whenever I needed to put air in my tires, someone always came over to do it for me. This does not happen anywhere else. One day, after filling my tires, the attendant warned me that my front tires were bald. ( I knew I had been putting off replacing them.) He offered to replace the tires for a very reasonable price within a few hours, and then did exactly that. read more

GO ELSEWHERE. The owner of this place is extremely rude. My car is custom tuned for shell's v-power 93 gas. To avoid an honest mistake that could destroy my engine (as in an attendant accidentally pumping a lower octane fuel which has happened to me at another station in the past), I always pump my own gas and tip regardless of full/self service. Have been doing it here with all of my vehicles for several years and its never been an issue. Well, I guess I stumbled on the owner manning the pumps this Sunday morning and he immediately ran to open my gas cap as I approached the pump. I told him with a smile that "thanks but I'll take care of it" to which he angrily replied "this is full service!" I didn't know he was the owner so I mentioned that no one in the past has had an issue and before I can explain why I even do it he yells "they work for ME, put the pump down!". Ok man, relax...breath lol. Its his business, his rules, I respect that, but doesn't take much effort to just talk like a decent human being. My father was a business owner and he wouldn't even treat the rude customers in this manner. Anyway, I simply go "no problem my friend, I'll pass then" as I went to close my gas cap, to which he replied "good, get the **** out of here!" Really? Ok old man, you're too tough for me, I gladly will lol what a clown. Lucky for me, there is a shell station not too far down the street with shell v-power 93 who are glad to see me pumping away in the cold, saving them the trip to the pump! Please don't support this guy, there are so many other options in the area that may even get you a smile or a "good morning" for the same price. In 5 minutes he lost local customers who have been getting 93 gas from him exclusively for years for multiple vehicles. My local car enthusiast buddies, family, friends, etc have happily agreed to go anywhere but here for gas in the Belmont area from now on. All it took was a quick group text. I will only buy gas at Pleasant Street Shell. The service is fantastic and it is family run. Today, my battery died, they came and charged the battery so that I could drive it to the shop, changed the battery and all within less than 30 minutes. Another reason why I love that place - great service & very reasonable. read more

Nice gas station but not happy with repair shop Did the old "brake light is out routine" the first time I came for service - easy work when they were not overly busy; did not state the price of the service upfront; work performed on balancing was sub-par (did not remove old weights from wheel when putting different tires, made wheels look like x-mas tree). I have been taking my cars to this service station for years now, and I have always felt I was treated fairly, and the work was performed competently, for a reasonable price. The owner is no nonsense but very friendly. Additionally, they stand by their work, assuring me that if there is any problem, I should not hesitate to contact them immediately. Inspections are done in a very businesslike manner, and I have never felt I was being pressured into unnecessary repairs. SCAM ALERT...I will not go back here again. Ever...not even for gas. The attendants are not pleasant or helpful to say the least....and they try to scam you for services you don't need. Here is the story. I brought my car in to get inspected, which I just purchased used a few months back so it was recently inspected (and passed without issue).....I waited in there office and watched him inspect my car....it was quite easy and fast...nothing crazy....however when it was through he pulled the car out of the bay, I paid and left....upon driving down the street I noticed the sticker had an "R" on it meaning it failed or was "Rejected"....WHAT!? ... I turned around and went back to inquire about what failed....he didn't mention anything to me when I paid...nothing....didn't go over anything or explain what is wrong...anyway upon my return the attendant didn't want to speak with me...he was very dismissive and told me a mechanic would know what to fix...I told him that's fine but could he please explain what's wrong as I don't like being left in the dark....nope....he walked away without explaining...only saying to take it to my mechanic....I took it back a week later to ask someone else...I got the owner...he looked at the sheet and couldn't tell me why it failed either....bewildered he brought it into the bay, put it on a lift and went through the car extensively...not like the inspection which sat on the ground....in any event, while I'm watching him go over the car, he started speaking in a different language to the person who performed the inspection...after a short while he then told me that the ball bearings, tie rods, exhaust needed to be replaced....he did an estimate $850-1000 to fix it and he could do it today. WHAT!? That can't be...I don't drive it much and as far as I can tell the front wheels didn't move when pulled...well I wasn't going to do anything right then and there...so I took it to a gas station/garage down the block...when I told him about the problems, he just smiled and said yeah, I know where you took it to get your inspection...this isn't anything new for them....he took the car into his shop, put it on a lift, tightened a few bolts on the exhaust so it wouldn't rattle, tightened a couple of bolts near the tie-rod, re-inspected it and passed with flying colors...no issues...$50 for his time and effort plus a new inspection cost and out the door...All set...in short, I will never go back to that station for anything...it seems like a SCAM to me.
