The property was amazing with 8 bedrooms (4 upstairs and 4 downstairs), a huge kitchen, a family room, sitting room and media room there was plenty of room for everyone. It was beautifully kept and was stocked with towels, toys, and sports equipment. The house manager was readily available to answer any questions. The walk down to Secret Beach has 360 steep stairs so it was a workout getting back up but the beach is breaking and very quiet although you may see a little bit of nude bathing. The house offers the most amazing views of the ocean, sand and lighthouse. I would highly recommend!

Staying in this area puts you mid island with access to great beaches, but, know you are still driving every day a min of 30 minutes to get to a more desirable beach if you're looking for calmer water and the ability to snorkel. The room was fantastic and slept my family of 5 well. Well stocked for cooking. My biggest complaint was the "Mountain View" is more like a parking lot and grocery store view. Also, if you're a lite sleeper, the roosters and road noise will keep you awake. I won't miss the roster crow at 4 am.

The lobby hours are limited, like 9am-7pm which is ok but not if you run into an issue past 7pm (which we did) The front desk staff is lovely and welcoming no complaints with them at all, they are doing their best with what they have. The room was ok it was clean but dated you can tell they havent updated things in a long time. The lamp covers are dusty and the sofa in the room has lost its shape. Our room upon entering was soo hot! We turned on the ac and headed to the pool. When we got back to the room it was even hotter like a sauna the front desk sent a guy to fix it but it didnt work so they were able to move us to a different room. The new room was exactly the same but with working ac. Thankfully our friends were at the Royal Sonesta so we would spend our days over there but upon arriving back to our room on day 3 we were greeted by a puddle of water at the entrance coming from the water heater/ac closet. The front desk was closed and we're checking out the next day so we just threw towels at the puddle and were happy to be leaving the next day. All night it kept leaking we used up all the towels available. I'm sure this resort was great at one time but now its dated, sad and lonely the pool water is murky and the surrounding area is covered in chicken poop. The whole resort could use a refresh. The onsight restaurant was closed during our whole stay, it's good the resort is across the street from Safeway and lots of restaurants. I would not return!

We stayed on the south…read moreside and did exploring on our own on the west side and were looking for something that took us up north. We are not big movie fanatics but it was fun to go places on the island and see movie clips in the exact spot our tour bus sat. Also thought the did a nice job of picking great sites to take photos and gave us some alone time to explore a bit. We got WAY MORE done in a day than we could have on our own.

Saturday Sunset Food Tour on Kauai…read more Our tour guides were both very pleasant, however, we were highly disappointed with the actual event. The description of the tour did not match with what we actually experienced. I would not consider the dinner fine dining. The food was barely lukewarm...the entrees were two small ribs, a scoop of mashed potatoes, with no side vegetables! Yes, there was dessert but hardly worth even mentioning. The appetizers were served at different shopping centers straight from a paper bag. At one stop, it was handed to us standing in front of the company van near food trucks in a parking lot. There we sampled what we will admit was a delicious appetizer,but felt very awkward. There was no presentation at all! Maybe if there was some pre-thought into the serving, it may not of been as bad. Of course, the sunset was beautiful. But we could've seen it anywhere for free. This excursion was a splurge for us on our anniversary trip. Definitely not worth the amount of money we paid for it!!!
