Denno's International Gifts is an amalgam of Middle Eastern, African, and a few American wares…read more The shelves are stocked with olive wood carvings from Jerusalem, Syrian jewelry boxes, Ohio Amish chess boards, Egyptian perfume bottles, African masks, and tons of other, frankly, amazing imports. Denno himself travels annually to restore his stock, and he knows where and from whom everything comes. He was very friendly and easy going, encouraging my wife and me to pick things up and check them out. With the Christmas shopping season just around the corner, Denno's International Gifts is the perfect place to find unique presents for everyone. We picked up a Christmas ornament and even crossed off a couple recipients from our own shopping lists.

I visit Graeter's all over Cincy all the time but this is a personal favorite location that's close…read moreto home for me. It's great for several reasons: 1. There is an ample parking in the front or back. 2. Tons of seating- both inside and outside on the back patio with beautiful floral boxes! 3. The staff are so friendly. Both managers/leaders and all the scoopers are so overly kind and helpful. It's often crowded but they are fast and consistent! I recently got my birthday free sundae and it was a real treat. Thanks, Tri County Graeter's team!

This is in regards to the Outlet store that sits adjacent to the actual Goodwill store…read more The Outlet store is an absolute embarrassment. The store is NEVER OPEN. They claim it hasn't permanently closed, but every single week since January the Goodwill Cincinnati Facebook page has updated saying, "Outlet store closed this week". No one answers the phone or gives a straight answer when questioned on why this store continues to say it's open when it's not. As a result, myself and others have had to take our business 30+ miles away to the Outlet store in Dayton or go to St Vincent DP's Outlet store on Este. The lack of communication and updates while insisting the store is open is a stain on the Greater Cincinnati Goodwill organization.

I wish this lovely space in the heart of the Reading Bridal District was around when I was planning…read moremy wedding a number of years ago. It's a one-stop location for wedding planning, rentals, vendors and a gift shop too. I first found out about it when owner, Karen, opened a second-floor meeting space after-hours to our local Bible study group a couple months before COVID began. Karen did this after simply striking up a conversation with one of our Bible study members who was shopping at her place. She is amazingly generous, and has created a beautiful space. I wish I'd had a one-stop location with a bit of human guidance, versus my web browser, when I was a stressed bride to be. Because The Wedding Place houses various vendors in its one space, a bride can look at invitations, check out availability of rental items, look at veils (a veil/headpiece shop is within the space, along with an invitation/stationary shop and a gift shop), and can arrange just about anything needed for a wedding, from flowers to a cake. The first floor houses the gift shop, offering presents for showers, bridesmaids or even yourself (candles, albums, wreaths, pillows and tons more). Some are handmade; some vintage and many can be personalized.

While us Washingtonians lament the absence of this retail paradise in our neck of the woods…read more(seriously, what's up with that?), a visit to this location was like stumbling upon a candy store for bargain hunters. The inventory might change faster than a chameleon at a disco, but that's half the fun, isn't it? You never know what gems you'll uncover in the ever-rotating aisles of goodies. During our escapade, we encountered an eclectic mix of goodies, from massage guns to sand art and even a Himalayan salt lamp that whispered sweet nothings to my inner zen. Sure, some items may fall into the "you get what you pay for" category, but every now and then, you strike gold faster than a prospector in the Wild West.. Case in point, during our visit, my partner who's got a sixth sense for sniffing out deals, snagged some Coleman-brand car cargo liner for a mere $10 and a carry-on for less than $30 which might not be first-class for rough airport-handling but definitely sturdy enough to survive the tumble of cabin life, all without breaking the bank or your spirit. And talk about this sweet soul who gifted me an LED Water Fountain because he remembered I'm a sucker for falling asleep to the sound of rain and thoughtfully felt that the nifty water fountain would help me calm my mind and fall asleep on nights I have trouble falling asleep. In addition, there are multiple self-checkout stations and friendly staff on standby to assist. This place is like a haven of fabulous finds and wallet-friendly wonders.
