Sena Plaza is a perfect illustration in the traditional Spanish-style Plazas (aka Market Place) of…read morethe Mexican 17th and 18th centuries. One is walking through the past in the present. The beginnings of this Plaza date back to its purchase by Don Juan Sena in 1796 and eventually became what it is over a few years. When you walk the shops and businesses here you are enthralled by the mix of architecture which follows an odd but modest trek from Victorian Territorial to Pueblo Revival, but you know and feel you're in the Southwest. Its enclosed square layout allowed the open and expansive patio or courtyard within in the very Spanish styles with trees, shrubs, fountains and walkways yet the rustic and western feel so prevalent throughout the city and surrounds. The forefathers of the area knew how to create shaded areas from the intense southwester sun yet keep within the comforts for enjoying life, via second story living quarters, verandas and shading canopies. Although this may be one of the lesser known of frequented plazas in old town it remains demonstrative of a way of life way back when no air conditioning existed.

Sure, there didn't seem to be much foot traffic as in the oldin' days, but it was updated inside (as opposed to the former southwestern look of Villa Linda) and seemed to have some really nice stores (didn't stroll much as we came for one specific thing). I would definitely come back again when visiting and having more time to check it out. From the outside, it does look somewhat depressed so perhaps people sense that it is the same way inside (looks can be deceiving) therefore, don't stop in to shop.

It's home to over 70 retailers according to this Yelp business page. While I didn't spend a whole lot of time here, I did recognize that it was in large part well-maintained and clean - including the women's restroom near the food court. I went here only for Bath & Body Works and The Boba Tea Company. But they have numerous stores including Dillards, Cost World Market, Hobby Lobby, Foot Locker (a Kids store too), Skechers, JCPenney, Boot Barn, and smaller stores like Señor Murphy Candymaker (a Santa Fe Tradition since 1971). They also have a Regal movie theater and LiggettVille Adventure Center near the food court that features a ropes course, zip rails, and a rock climbing wall. I took the shoes back in to exchange, but the women working there told me that she would not accept them and gave me a national customer service number to call, which I'm sure will be very helpful. I've always had good experiences with the staff there (except for this last visit), but at the end of the day they're selling cheap products and not standing by them when they disentegrate after a few uses. I spent well over forty five minutes looking for shirts but could only find two that actually fit me. I wear a large, so it shouldn't have been so difficult. I asked an employee about it and was told they get what they are shipped, and it seemed like that's all they were ever shipped. Speaking of employees, it seemed like they were everywhere. Other than that the place was deserted. I did listen to them absently while I tried to find something in my size. It was entertaining as they were all just standing around loudly talking smack about customers they have had. I am not sure how this place has managed to stay in business but I don't expect it will remain in business much longer.

Lulu searched for and found exactly what I wanted; helped size me properly and told me about current sales. I'm 67 and yes still love Victoria Secret's lingerie! The cashier gave me the same polite, professional service. Left with 2 bra's and 5 panties. Don't know what happened in the past (reviews from February and April); all I can say is my experience was delightful!
