I have heard many negative things about this mall and how it has gone down in quality since the change of ownership from Villa Linda Mall; however, I thought it was just the opposite. Sure, there didn't seem to be much foot traffic as in the oldin' days, but it was updated inside (as opposed to the former southwestern look of Villa Linda) and seemed to have some really nice stores (didn't stroll much as we came for one specific thing). I would definitely come back again when visiting and having more time to check it out. From the outside, it does look somewhat depressed so perhaps people sense that it is the same way inside (looks can be deceiving) therefore, don't stop in to shop. read more

The Santa Fe Place Mall was fine by me on 6/14/2023. Parking was free. It's a fairly convenient location near Interstate 25. It's home to over 70 retailers according to this Yelp business page. While I didn't spend a whole lot of time here, I did recognize that it was in large part well-maintained and clean - including the women's restroom near the food court. I went here only for Bath & Body Works and The Boba Tea Company. But they have numerous stores including Dillards, Cost World Market, Hobby Lobby, Foot Locker (a Kids store too), Skechers, JCPenney, Boot Barn, and smaller stores like Señor Murphy Candymaker (a Santa Fe Tradition since 1971). They also have a Regal movie theater and LiggettVille Adventure Center near the food court that features a ropes course, zip rails, and a rock climbing wall. If I could give less of a star I would. If you are disabled in any way, never shop here. I parked there with a handicap placard in my front window and came out to a bright green towing sticker on my driver window. I was told that it wasn't their job to look hard at my window. They "couldn't " see it on my mirror so it was my fault. Then I was hung up on. Now I am faced with taking a sticker off my window so I can safely drive my disabled child. I am disappointed in this business and how this was handled. I guess I need to not just display the placard but also parade my disabled child around so they can approve. I am no longer shopping here and I encourage you to think twice if you are disabled or have disabled children. read more

Remember the malls you experienced as a child? Sears on one end, JCPenney on the other? With a few random other stores in between? Santa Fe Place Mall re-captures that feeling of nostalgia...and not in a good way. After a disappointing 20 minutes at the outlet mall (and I use the term "mall" loosely), we discovered the Santa Fe Place Mall. We spent another 20 minutes in it, too, and left. What a disappointing afternoon of shopping. The mall was convenient, though, if you wanted to buy postage stamps, get your nails polished, get your hair did, have your teeth cleaned, check your hearing, and get new glasses all in one place. Working on updating this. Otherwise it has the stores you would expect. AMPLE parking and nearby food. Just need to get some more stores in and this will be booming. Great spot in town also. Close to hotels where a lot of visitors would stay. Walkable or the hotel shuttles would easily drop you off. Still, Santa Fe isn't huge so this isn't a bad mall. Kohls down the street too if you're into that. But this is certainly a one stop, otherwise cross the street for Best Buy, Target, Starbucks etc. read more

Looking at the garish World Market and Bed, Bath & Beyond additions, an outsider might not know that within this shopping mall, formerly (and forever to Santa Feans) called the Villa Linda Mall, businesses are closing up shop left and right. It was a big deal when FYE closed, and since then, stores have been disappearing quicker than gaudy new ones can replace them. A recent stroll through this shopping center confirmed it's continued decline. The remaining stores are mostly awful, though the Heart of the Lotus bazaar remains an interesting fixture between Sears and the defunct Hollister's. Footlocker and Zumiez could occasionally warrant a visit. There's also an independent video game store on the opposite end from Game Stop. The food court is also at an all-time low. Don't go here if you don't need to. read more

Ive lived in Santa Fe my entire life and this place was my go too hangout spot for all of my friend. When they wanted the Harrell House over there, I was personally was stoked about it. I worked with the Harrell family for years and even helped them move from the Devargas Mall across town. 6 months later I come to find out they are being kicked out for Conn's (a chain store originally founded in Texas), made me furious. Then reading the article in the New Mexican absolutely broke my heart. How could a local mall not want to support a local business as unique as the Harrell House? I know I'm definitely not the only person who feels this way about this situation. The Harrell's have been though so much for the first move. All of my friends and family will no longer support the mall if they evict the Harrell House. read more

This mall is so depressing. I came here just because it was next to the hotel where I'm staying. I came here at 5pm and again right before closing. It was empty both times. I was expecting tumbleweeds to start rolling past us. The only reason I gave this mall 2 stars is because the employees at Footaction stayed open a few more minutes while I ran and got my card. I went there for a movie, but then stayed for their ropes course. At first I thought this was for kids, but they let me on - I'm a mature adult. It was fun, challenging - and I faced my fears while doing it. I went back the next day bringing my brother. He was sceptical at first, but liked it also and is hoping to go back with his wife. And by the second day, the my fear level was half of what it was the first day. Recommended! read more

There are more shops here than I thought there would be. There is a Zumiez, Hot Topic, Rue 21, and DeB, just to mention a few. There are plenty of places for a teen to check out, while the parent gets their hair/ nails done. The food court wasn't really much but there are plenty of other good places near the mall to get a bite at before heading here. read more

Their remodel is getting better...the place is still pretty empty, but I think they'll be the "IT" mall again once they are done restoring and remodeling it. With the addition of World Market, I believe they'll do better business, we'll miss them downtown, but at least I know the size will allow them to have more of a variety of things. The little toy pets kiddos can ride on is my daughter's favorite thing to go straight to, plus the fun train ride they have for littles is pretty fun to watch too. read more

When you can hit JC Penney, Tuesday Morning, Dillards and Sears in one trip, you can't give Santa Fe Place less than 5 stars. Add in Victoria's Secret, a stop at Senor Murphy's Candy, shoe stores, sports stores, and Santa Fe's easiest-to-deal-with post office and plenty of free parking, and it can't be beat. read more

I just posted my review of the Santa Fe Outlet which was disappointing (check it out). I was hoping for a better experience at Santa Fe Place Mall. Rarely do I visit a mall and leave empty handed. Well I guess there's a first time for everything. There are a lot of stores, however, there is no sparkle, no glitz, nothing that says, "come on in and check us out." The anchor stores include Dillards, Penney's, and Sears. There are other stores in the area like Kohl's and Target and a lot of the usual restaurants you see everywhere (Outback, Red Lobster, etc.) It's a good thing because half of the places to eat in the food court inside the mall are closed. There are also several hotels & motels within walking distance of the Mall. As far as the other stores you have to wonder what's going on when store after store has huge signs that say "everything 75% off." At first I was excited. Who doesn't love a sale. I know I do. But once inside it's obvious why everything was 75% off. IMO the Santa Fe Outlet should move into the Santa Fe Place Mall (there's plenty of empty space) and turn the Outlet into something else. It could work seeing as everything at the Outlet mall is also 75% off. read more

Zumiez... I've been a loyal customer for years and frankly I much rather shop online. I shopped late last year and wasn't greeted by the store person named Hank (get some work ethic, learn to listen and grow up). I was livid with the lack of help I received until I asked for a manager. Steph helped me out and apologized for the "new" worker-- the guy was useless and could not take direction. He looked high as all get out and would not listen to the lady. They make commission so I flat out told her that I would make my purchase with her and requested that my purchase be credited to her. Since she was nice and made an effort I returned twice this past month. big mistake. Tony Cruz aka the "store manager" is disgusting inside and out. He was either flirting with male customers or screaming at the other employees. Very uncomfortable experience left and returned a few days later thinking it was an off day; nope that's apparently business as usual. Seriously, if you think talking about physically assaulting someone who just left your store is appropriate you need help especially when your comments are so loud others can hear you. Oh by the way the girl was like 12! Then I get this fake insincere greeting by him and this blonde girl who may have been an employee no clue. Walked out soon after... too weird. No professionalism. No customer service. High school drama flashbacks. No sense of style-- did you get dressed in the dark in the 80s & let the 90s have a go at it? Disappointed. I ended up having a great experience with the employee Steph who I was told quit by the guy who runs all the NM stores. Ugh my mistake giving it a second chance. Like so many malls in smaller towns, this mall is holding on...barely. I have no issue with a combination of national stores and more eclectic local stores, but sadly there are as many empty spots as there are stores. It seems that the current owners are trying to bring in new stores, but at best it seems like a half-hearted effort. As soon as something new opens, something else closes. Santa Fe can use a "true" mall, but I'm afraid this one is going to reach critical mass soon without more retailers. read more

My purse with at least $100 and all my identification was stolen in the early morning from the women's restroom. Only mall employees were present, and 2 of them were in the bathroom when I entered. I left my purse on the door, went to the Atrium, realized it was missing and went back but it was gone. "Security" did absolutely nothing & I was the one to search garbage cans with no luck. I've since learned from other victims of theft that an original SS card and driver's license fetch $1,500 on the street. read more

There really isn't anything left at the mall that interests me. I can hit the big stores without having to go inside and my trips to SFP are rare. I usually only shop at Dillard's. I remember the mall's opening and back then it was a lot better than it is now. With a bad economy, I say save the money for the renovations I highly doubt any new stores will want to open there. . There is always ABQ uptown or downtown Santa Fe for shopping. And though I don't shop there, there is always Wal Mart for a bargain. Even DeVargas is a more pleasant experience. read more

This is the worst mall I've ever been to. Even after the recent renovations, it seems to have less stores than ever. The Gap is even gone now. There are so many empty spaces and the stores that are still open have small selections. Sadly, I feel like we're all better off making the drive to Albuquerque if we need to get some shopping done. read more
