Disappointing. Appalling. Shady. While attending a birthday party earlier today, it was incredibly disappointing to hear that my three-year-old's niece's birthday party was double booked ... understanding that sometimes this happens the way about the manager Lisa handle the situation was just completely appalling disappointing and although this may be a children's play place, the games played by the manager was appalling. To give some context of the situation, yes the play place was double booked by two birthday parties ... with about 30 people each party...Instead of trying to accommodate both parties, the manager of the place had forced us to leave. When it was left up to both parties to have a joint birthday party as to not ruin the experience for our children, the manager continue to be berating and use her on site employees who, by the way, couldn't have been older than 16 each to do her dirty work by trying to kick us out ... irregardless both family shared the space, like good neighbours...we shared in the experience of our children's birthday. ....However, the manager didn't stop there and continued to try to play games by promising returns on deposits for one family, but not the other clearly she was not willing to take a hit to her bottom line. If you are considering booking this appalling place, please be aware of the games the manager plays ... They are very likely to take your deposit double book you and leave you with a memorable experience. Unfortunately, not a good one.. read more

DO NOT BOOK YOUR PARTY HERE! double booked 2 private parties and instead of admitting they were in the wrong they tried kicking a party full of guests and decor and food out! Blaming the party for the mix up. Many emails back and forth confirming date and time AND deposit accepted still not taking the blame. When time came to refund the party no one would call back or try and resolving this. Instead told the other party to chase the other party for money. Horrible costumer service from manager and owner of the place. Save your self a headache and do not go here!!! You will ruin your poor child's birthday party.. and to top it all off personal information including address and credit card was sent out to the wrong party because they were that confused! Save yourself.. and if they even try to respond to this review claiming it was the customers fault that's just more proof of their delusions. read more

I thought I had already reviewed this place, but looks like I hadn't. We came here for a friend's child's birthday party and I was really impressed with the place. The basic theme and idea of this place is almost as if you were on the main street of a small city back in the 50's or 60's. With that in mind, you have each type of shop where kids can play in a: movie theatre, garage, grocery store, construction site, etc... It's almost as if you're on a kiddie movie set. It's an absolutely perfect place for play-based learning and kids aged 6 and under love this place and are right in their element. There's also a raceway where kids ride on these self-propelling cars (I think they move the handles back and forth to propel them). Great staff, nice open party rooms and the place as a whole is very open and generally less loud and chaotic compared to your standard indoor activity party rooms. They offer something quite different and it really allows children to use their imaginations and have access to toys and a play environment that they typically wouldn't have access too. read more

Excellent learning gigs . It imitates an old town having animal hospital, fire station, park, super market, construction site , enough fuel to ignite imagination on those little minds. Horrible experience. Owner and Manager were extremely rude and unhelpful. Double booked birthday parties and instead of trying to help the situation their solution was to ask one party to leave. Leave the party 15 minutes before having 50 guests show up for a party. Manager yelled over the phone as she left young staff to deal with the mistake. Took $100 deposit and said I shouldn't assume a party was scheduled just because they took my $100. Owner is a piece of work and manager is right there with him. I would not recommend this place for anything. On top of everything the coat room was disgusting tables in party room were smelly and sticky. read more

After reading about the whole concept of this indoor playground place, I thought this place could be one of our favorite destinations. I was completely wrong. Each booking is for an hour and fifteen minutes play time. We paid $65.80 for four of us for a slot. We walked in, there was no background music playing, it was dead silence. Within minutes I noticed that anything that requires power or battery didn't work at all. For the "grocery store theme" room, I was managed to find the power plug to power it on the register table, but that was only one that was working for the entire place. For the each "theme" room, the props need to work/operate/present to fully enjoy the experience. The "Theatre" room was the worst. The lights were off, you could see that the projector was removed. Just white wall with some drapes. The "Fire station" theme, no fake flame lights was flickering (the prop was there, but not functional) so nothing for kids to engage with. "Hair salon" theme, not one hair dryer was working with all dead batteries. "Animal hospital" theme, No hospital props at all, no stuffed animals whatsoever to play with. Anyways, the list goes on. Overall, it could have been much better to take my kids to ToysRUs and spend the money on nice dinner instead. Don't waste your valuable family time and money at this place. For that amount of money they charge you on their half-baked set up, you are better off to go elsewhere instead. read more

This place is too too cute!! My friend suggested it for a play date & I'm so happy she did. The place can be a little difficult to find. I suggest typing in the plaza number into your GPS instead of the business name. Upon entering, we were kindly greeted by two women at the front. One of the ladies mentioned that they have a deal if you come 6 times you get the seventh visit free. Cool!! She also gave us a tour of the facility. One of the party rooms looked fabulous!! It was definitely for a girl with a stunning chandelier and decorated pink! The place is darling!! My daughter thoroughly enjoyed herself. They have different rooms for different tastes. I especially adored the diner, salon and grocery store! I found the place to be really clean and well run! I can't wait to come back! read more

What a great place! The lack of electronics is definitely a plus here, with the only exception being the supermarket checkout register, which is more functional than anything else. There were a ton of things to do for my two and a half year old. He soent most of his time in one vehicle or another, of which there are a good selection. I have yet to enjoy their services with my family but I did go to check it out for a kid birthday party in the near future. I really like the concept and it's quite large and spacious. The girl at the front is very polite and friendly. She gave me a tour of the facilities. There are 3 kids rooms for parties, there are 2 bathrooms, there's a fridge for storing items. There's also a parent lounge with tv monitors so parents can supervise their kids without following them around in the play area. Its also great because parents can eat and drink while their kids are playing. Lastly, the play area is big with many different themes. I think this place is great for kids to come and play because it inspires creativity and motivation. Instead of kids running around and tumbling, Playtown seems to encourage kids to share and play cooperative in their firehouse, their grocery store, their restaurant, their theatre etc. I will give a more detailed review once we visit with a bunch of kids at a birthday party. read more

This place is super clean and well maintained. The idea of theme play is fabulous and the kids absolutely love playing in there. They get to play in a way they no where else can. I had my son's birthday party in there. The fact that they set up the room for you and clean afterwards is brilliant. Also you have an assistance with you the whole time. They have thought of all things you might have missed and forgot!! Also, they don't charge for the adults attending the party! I am 100 percent satisfied! read more

We took our 4 year old nephew and 2 year old godson here for a play date and they had a blast!! It was a cold Sunday afternoon (3pm) so we thought it would be packed, but it wasn't. The different "shop" stations they have set up are stimulating and fun for the kids, and there is room for adults to join in and assist. I despise the play areas that kids climb up and the adults are left to hope they don't get hurt or lost. This place is really fun and we will definitely be back! Our nephew already asked if he can come back, and we are more than happy to take him. read more

We took our daughter here when we were visitng family in toronto for xmas break. It was a great place to go when it's so cold out. She had a blast, the place was clean, set up was nice. Really perfect for a cold day. Parking was easy right outside and it was much more affordable than play places in California. read more

I had my daughters 5th birthday party there yesterday. This is the best place for a kids party. The staff is excellent!! The room was set up before we arrived, complete with plates, napkins, cups and all utensils (included in the package price). They also did the clean up for us. We didn't have to worry about serving the pizza or cake. They took care of it all. From the moment we walked in, a staff member was there to help us. I loved this because I actually got to watch the kids play. At other places, the parents can get too busy with serving lunch, cake and cleaning up that you don't have time to enjoy the kids. The actual play place is great! We had kids from ages 1-8 and there was something to do for all of them. My son is 2 and is a bit of a daredevil. He loves to climb on things and jump off of them too. There are no high structures where the toddlers can fall from. Even the 2 slides and ladders that they have are small so if they fall(which my son did a few times) it didn't hurt. Again, the staff here is the BEST! They're even offered their office for my sister to breastfeed when they saw her doing it the party room( it was perfect as her baby is easily distracted). I will definitely be back and won't think twice about having another party here! read more

This place is AWESOME! The staff are so kind and friendly. The play areas are VERY CLEAN, have a lot of variety for the kids, and it's very spacious. I don't live in the area but if I did, I would definitely host a kiddie party here. Playtown is a little hidden from the main road and they've only been open for a year, but I hope their business grows because it's an awesome place to bring the kids to play and interact! read more

We read that it was number one on TodaysParent so we decided to bring our kids (3 and 7 years old) there to play. I saw that the parking lot was packed so I asked at the entrance if there's still room to admit general play. They insisted that yes absolutely there is! So I paid $11 each. After I paid, I glance at the log sheet, and I saw that there were 3 birthday parties booked! when I entered there were so many kids, every room was packed with kids. There were only 3 riding toys... all taken. There was really nothing for my 7 year old daughter to play with, it's more for the toddler age group. It would have been fine if they were honest enough to say that they have 3 birthday parties going on currently and if I was still interested to come on in before I paid, especially since I asked. I would never return. Parents make sure you check if there's a party before paying. read more

Playtown is a great idea for kids. So adorable. It's exactly what the name says. A small little town (think movie set) where kids can pretend to put out fires, work on a construction site, go grocery shopping etc. Unfortunately, the facility is not very well maintained at all. And when you have a facility that hundreds of toddlers run through every week it MUST be well maintained. While the actual facility was very clean the toys are not clean at all. It looks like they haven't been replaced in years. A lot of the toys don't even work. For example, the play power tools (toy drill etc.) do not actually function. Whether it's because they are broken or the batteries are dead, I do not know. There was no soap in the bathroom dispenser and at least one of the hand sanitizer dispensers was also empty. There are only two bathroom which can be difficult when you have a 2 year old who needs to pee NOW! Having said all of that, my 2.5 year old son absolutely LOVED it. I'll probably go back a few times if he asks but it's definitely not my favourite place at this point. To bad because it could be absolutely amazing if they replaced gross and broken toys and maintained it a little better. read more
