We rented a pontoon, and had a problem with one of the ladders to get out of the water with, came back in, and they replaced it and we were on our way in 20 minutes. We enjoyed it so much the first time, my wife and I went back in October just ourselves and everything was just as good as the first experience. They can accommodate either full hook ups or primitive campsites, they were more then happy to give you ideas of where the fish are and how to fish them there. The only draw back that some might have, is that I had heard the lake is restricted to 25 mph engines. That was not a big deal to us, but others it may be. Location is just a 10 min drive to the Carbondale Wal-mart if you forgot something, you are about 20 minutes away from the southern Illinois wine trail. If you are coming to the area for a Salukies game, you are only 10 min away.

He is straightforward and knowledgeable. He discovered that we had water in our gas tank. He got the water out and added a fuel line separator. Our pontoon now runs like a dream. I feel we have found our go-to mechanic and we look forward to participating in their annual service and storage program. Thanks, Paul!

This was our first experience launching at Mack's Marina. We paid our our $10 fee to use their ramp. When we backed our trailer down the middle of the ramp, the right side of the trailer dropped in a hole breaking the tail light. The owner denied the issue and told me I just backed the trailer in too far. He could have cared less and was a real jerk. I should have looked online first. When googled, I saw where others have damaged their trailer's, some reporting axel damage. Needless to say, we won't launch here ever again, I'd advise you to use caution if you have a long trailer. Our tritoon is 25'.

So my familia stayed in a chalet lodge in walking distance of Lake of Egypt (all lodging here is within walking distance). The place we stayed at slept 6 people--one master bed that slept 2, an upper level in which you might have to crawl in due to its low ceiling, with 4 mattresses on the carpet (2 on each side of the stairs). The kitchen included a sink, microwave, refrigerator with freezer, coffee machine, plateware, silverware, and such. There was a patio with 2 flame grills for our usage. The patio overlooked the lake. There was a living room with a sectional couch and tv. The bathroom was pretty small, especially the shower. It was very difficult to take one comfortably because of its size. The design of the entire cabin was rustic and wooden. All panels and floors were wooden except for the green-carpeted stairs and upper attic-type-level. The place was decorated with cute wooden-like nature-loving crafts. It was a quaint and cozy cabin! At the lake, guests could use the aqua-cycles and 1-person kayaks for free. Guests could also use their life vests. Guests could also swim in the lake. There were jet skis for rent at an additional cost plus gas. There's a little store/office beside the lake where you could sit inside to eat pizza, ice cream, have some drinks, etc. This store also has an outdoor section to enjoy them goodies. There's a little wall section where you can buy some keepsakes and additional watersport-type toys. This is also where you stop in to buy gas for your motor water vehicle. The service was friendly. Micah (spelling?) helped us with everything from rentals to activities outside of the resort. I'd definitely recommend this place! Overall, our family had fun!

Our family rented a cabin for a week at the lake. There is an extremely long and steep hill between…read morethe cabins and marina. On our first day we went to the office and inquired about borrowing a golf cart to transport our things between the dock and our cabin and were told they didn't have any. There were numerous Totten's golf carts around the premises and we saw other guests on them. We picked up some family members on the other side of the lake and brought them by boat to our resort. My father in law is disabled with a cane and had already fallen several times that day. He tried to walk up the hill himself and almost fell again. My husband went back to the marina to ask to borrow a golf cart but John was talking with someone inside watching my father in-law on the hill and laughing at him. Due to the urgency of my father in laws condition on the hill and the disrespect of John, my husband got in the Totten cart to pick up his dad and get him up the hill before he fell. After dropping him off, my husband brought the golf cart right back to the marina at which point John came outside and started cussing at my husband and threatening him saying he was going to call the sheriffs department for theft of the cart. The cart was already returned and John knew we are guests of the resort since we had to track him down 2 days in a row to try to buy ice from the marina. We couldn't believe that they would treat their customers that way in a situation of trying to help a disabled man on their property. We immediately checked out. I would not recommend this resort. Any family business should put family first and respect the fact that the property is difficult for people to get around. We had hoped to end our day with a nice family barbecue but instead it ended with our family being threatened for transporting a disabled man up the hill. In the future this resort should be more accommodating to their guests and offer to help people up the hill instead of laugh at them.
