Even then, no one acknowledged me or came over to ask if I needed assistance. After standing there with no response, I wandered around the store hoping someone might check in. Only one person said hello, and I couldn't even tell if they worked there because they had no badge or uniform. Meanwhile, there were about six people gathered around a table setting up a Warhammer game, complete with miniatures, terrain, and buildings. They were laughing, joking, and clearly enjoying themselves. Could one of them have been an employee ? Who knows!? I don't mind people having fun at work, and I understand they probably all knew each other well. But you'd think at least one of them would have noticed a new customer walking around the store looking a little lost. Not a single person broke away from the group to ask if I needed help or even acknowledge that I was there. What makes it more disappointing is that I genuinely try to support local businesses instead of just ordering everything on Amazon. I'd much rather walk into a store, make a connection, and support a local community space. But this visit made it clear that this particular store didn't seem to care about welcoming new customers or earning that kind of loyalty.

(I'd like to see a bit more lighting near the game shelves, but I have old eyes.) There were even some dioramas in the center of the store. There's plenty of parking outside. They have a nice variety of games open which you can play, as well as comfortable seating and clean rest rooms. In the gaming area, I saw more packaged "complete sets" of the games with numerous expansion sets, something I personally find preferable to lots and lots and lots of space devoted to expansion sets. I only wish they opened a little earlier in the day on weekdays.

I owe the owner, Tanya, an apology for not taking any pictures. I asked if it would be ok to post and then we got so busy shopping and talking, that I forgot to snap too! GPS originally took us right to the address, but there is not currently a sign out front (working on that), so I kept driving. Thank goodness the building is large and bright blue. When I called to make sure we were heading to the right place, the woman that answered the phone confirmed. Thankfully, we called, because it's an appointment only store. We turned around and parked on the street, in front of the building. Upon walking in we were shown a limited edition 49 and Market, Evergreen Season Bundle. There are some amazing products for scrapping and crafting that are only available at AIR (Alliance of Independent Retailers) locations. Of course I bought one. We were given a little background on the building's interesting history and got a few tips from Tanya. The building is old but you wouldn't realize it from all of the work that the family has put into it. Unfortunately, we kept Tanya from her coffee, but hopefully she had as good a time as my mom and me. My mom found a punch she has been searching for. I found some quilling materials and we both snagged some stuff for crafting. There is a great paper selection, along with stickers and embellishments. I found some cute wood decorations that I just can't wait to start decoupaging and painting. The pricing was great. There were even items offered at discounted prices. Given the choice I would much rather give my business to an independent business like Life's Memories. Having such an amazing selection and friendly owner just adds to the enjoyment!

This store is also listed as "Comic's N' More."…read more This my review for that listing: " Let me start by saying this is not Target, Stop and shop, or CVS. This is a Comicshop, so it should not be judged by the same criteria as a supermarket. I do not go to a comic shop to pick up my comics like groceries flow through the express checkout and move on to my next chore. I go for the pleasure of talking to interesting people from varied backgrounds. With that said other reviewers are correct the shop is strangely ordered. The reason for the lack of order is mostly that the owner spends more time with customers. I will take some of the blame for distracting him. I brought my kids into the store when they wanted to learn how to play Magic the gathering, and I had no clue where to begin, he sat with them explained the rules and played through several games. I guess this time could have been used to organize. This shop operates more like a club house where friends joke and talk about art and reading, than a perfectly functioning conveyer belt megastore. I hope it always stays this way."
