Game Depot is the local hub for culture records. They have all sorts of niche paraphernalia from…read morethe 50s onward, with a focus on console games and media. Here's the thing, though: museums like to place very-well-known cultural artifacts wide out in the open and secured, so anybody knows it's worth it. But that won't happen to you in a cultural goldmine in Game Depot, and that's because you have to know who wants what, and that means knowing the local community. While I was there, the proprietor, Chris, spoke to all sorts of locals about games they might be interested in, other games soon to come in or that just left, and other materials like a Spongebob CRT TV. (That's how you know I'm not making this up. *lol* ) You're likely here to sell or buy, not to know what makes this place tick. There's a lot of dense shelves of media that cover all sorts of video game consoles and video media players. From what I know, Christopher offers a professional standard rate on cash purchases: Half the rate he can sell it at. I think I understand, because where he's at must have plenty of people stopping by for media in the local industry. In other words--this place needs to be a local landmark ASAP so the local historians know where to go for the next generations of culture curators and historians.

Stopped by the Westfield GameStop to purchase the PlayStation Portal. The associate working the…read moreregister told me I could not purchase it unless I renewed my Pro Subscription that had expired; stating because it was a pro exclusive, which is a flat out lie. I don't have time to deal with this crap. I notified customer service of this unethical behavior.

I called a few days before the release of Spider-Man 2 for the PS5, and they said they were doing a…read moremidnight release. I was very excited since I wanted a physical copy of the game and was still able to play it at midnight. So I pre-ordered the game and paid the entire price. Fast forward to midnight on the night of the release... I arrive at 12:20 a.m. and the gates are already closed. I knock on the door as I see two employees inside, and all they did was look away without acknowledging me. Then I called the store phone and apparently the registers were down so they were unable to "finalize" my receipt even though I already paid the full price of the game. I was so mad I asked if I could just refund my pre order so I could buy a digital copy of the PlayStation store that night, BUT NO. They won't give me the game at midnight, and also I'm not allowed to refund the pre order. WHAT A FANTASTIC MIDNIGHT RELEASE THAT WAS. I mean no wonder no one buys physical copies anymore the least they could do is stay open until 12:30 or 1:00 so that people can get physical copies and play them they day they are out. I'm not going to GameStop for new games after this I'll just buy digital copies after staying up past midnight for nothing.
