The Woodlands Children's Museum - Little house

The Woodlands Children's Museum

(88 reviews)

4 stars? Let me tell you why…read more We've been visiting The Woodlands Children's Museum regularly for the past couple of years, and overall it's been a solid experience for younger kids. It's a well-managed space that's clearly designed for structured, imaginative play rather than chaos. If you know what to expect, it can be a great outing. Pros: * The location right off The Woodlands Parkway makes it easy to get to without going far out of the way. * The museum is the perfect size--big enough to keep kids engaged, but not overwhelming for parents or little ones. * They host multiple events throughout the month, which helps keep things interesting beyond a standard visit. * Being able to host birthday parties here is a big plus and very convenient. * Pricing feels fair for what's offered, especially compared to larger, more crowded children's attractions. Cons: * The layout doesn't change very often; in two years, I've only seen one noticeable update, which can make repeat visits feel a bit repetitive. * Parking can be frustrating since the lot is shared with a large gym, especially during peak hours. * The shopping center itself is pretty outdated and could really use a remodel, which affects the overall experience. * This is not the place for very hyper kids who need to run freely--everything is more controlled and calm. * There are no concessions, and outside food or drinks aren't allowed, which can be inconvenient for longer visits. Overall, this museum is a great option for younger children who enjoy hands-on, imaginative play in a calm environment. It's affordable, well-located, and thoughtfully run, but best suited for kids who do well with structure. We'll continue to visit, just not expecting major changes each time.

Abercrombie Academy

Abercrombie Academy

My son attended Abercrombie Academy's preschool, and is now in kindergarten there. Abercrombie…read moreAcademy is a gem! The first three words that come to mind when I think of the school are safe, loving, and experienced. Here are a few of the things I like most about the school: It provides a good balance between academics and fun. My son's fine motor skills have improved greatly, and now in Pre-K he is learning to read and do math, but there is still plenty of time for recess and fun activities. They also provide after-school options like basketball, science & engineering, and more. It is well-established and has been around at least since I was a kid - my two siblings and I all attended Abercrombie Academy as children. I have very fond memories of the years I spent in school there, and my older son is loving his time there as well. The school-day teachers and the aftercare staff in the preschool have years of experience, and it shows. They know just how to handle the kids in a loving and gentle, but firm, way that provides guidance in social skills and manners, and learning to care about others, while having fun and enjoying school. The classrooms and playground are charming and cozy. The preschool building has just four classrooms, (each with a fantastic teacher) so it's nice and small, just the right size for 3- and 4-year-olds. The preschoolers also do lots of "homey" activities like baking, which the kids love. The pre-K class does fun field trips. The administrative staff is great. I highly recommend Abercrombie Academy as a wonderful "home away from home" for kids to learn and play during the school year and summers.

This is my daughter's fourth year attending Abercrombie. We could not be happier with the education…read moreshe is receiving. The administration and Abercrombie family have committed to developing an innovative and thorough curriculum. They have wonderful teachers, and genuinely care about each child. To have your child go to a school where the entire staff knows not only their name, but their interests too is amazing. That does so much to boost a childs' confidence. The sense of community our daughter and family feel at Abercrombie Academy truly distinguishes this school as a hidden gem. I highly recommend you look into Abercrombie if you are interested in the advantages a private school education and compassionate staff can provide your child.
