Tropical- Acai Bowl

Another fantastic bowl!! This place never disappoints. Mango Berry and Mucho Mango

Pura Vida Bowl, fruit Coco Bowl, fruit bowl

Food was great and tasted like the best thing I have ever had like OMG. The service was great like I felt so at home, and the ambiance was great and the vibes felt so on point like ok gurlll!

Coco power bowl with Nutella added

The bowls were great! The service was on point and the presentation of the food was impeccable! The store itself felt very welcoming and smelled fabulous! I would highly recommend coming here if you love a nice refreshing treat or need a little extra protein. I will be coming back.

The different "bases" for their bowls

First of all, this place is GORGEOUS! Tropical artwork and murals on every wall. I didn't go in to the restroom, but my teenager said it was beautiful and a 10/10 bathroom she would definitely visit again. Second- the kids on staff were extra sweet. I came in with three kids, the youngest of which was a sleeping infant. They were polite and even brought my drink to the table for me while I was rocking the baby to sleep. Absolutely service! Finally, everything was fresh, healthy, and delicious! This was the absolute perfect treat for the summer, and far better than grabbing ice cream. The kids loves being able to pick their favorite fruits and toppings. We all took turns trying each other's bowls, which will only make it easier for each of us to order something different next time! Not pictured, but I also got the summer special mango pina colada smoothie and it was so balanced and fruity Oh yeah, this is a new family favorite. We will definitely be back!

Coco Craze- Coconut Bowl

Got the coco craze and at first I was skeptical about the amount of coconut in the bowl, but it turned out to be super yummy and refreshing. Service was quick and friendly, we were in and out!

This spot was open and in the area so we stopped to check it out for a juice before our movie. The selection was great and ended up with a ginger shot and a dragonberry cleanse type drink. Both were excellent! I noticed they had several things I like there, including a spirulina type drink and smoothie options as well. The customer service was just average. No real welcome or conversation at check out. But they did say "have a good one" as we left. The inside had a fun beachy type vibe and our table looked like a surfboard (cute idea). Overall, I would come check out another drink if in the area.

The food is amazing, such a light and filling meal that's actually healthy for you. Truly a gem in Texas. The Service was pretty good, it's mostly teenagers working so I'm sure they'd rather be home but they get it out fast and do a great job.

Well how cute of a little beachy oceany vibe! I loved the feels in here! Even though layout was kind of funky it was definitely a cute spot! I would come back for sure to try a açaí bowl next time instead of a smoothie. I got Açaí Energy Smoothie and I didn't really enjoy it like I was hoping. It wasn't bad, but too think and blan not something is purchase again. Especially not for $9

Wow!! All the heart eyes for this place!! You walk in and it's like you've taken a plane to a tropical island - it smells so great, and the atmosphere cannot be beat. Plenty of options between juices, smoothies, bowls, etc - I have to come back to try a bowl! I got a protein smoothie and it was so so good - a bit in the expensive side at about eight bucks, but wow was it worth it. Definitely worth a stop in!

The bowls were fresh and you can tell they use fresh ingredients. It was very refreshing as well.

Playa Bowls is probably one of my favorite spots in North San Antonio, every time I come I'm never disappointed. Last week my mom came to town and while running some errands I decided to bring her to Playa Bowls since she had never tasted an açaí bowl before. As soon as we arrived the experience was 10/10. The decor really set the mood for what she was about to experience. The staff was so welcoming and were willing to let my mom have samples before committing to a base for our bowl. We ended up choosing the Pura Vida bowl and it did not disappoint! The refreshing flavors were perfect for this hot SA summer.

Such a cute spot! When I first visited I was pleasantly surprised by the easy to navigate menu and cute decor. The staff was very nice and had quick service. The bowls are very aesthetically pleasing as well as delicious. I would love to stop here again during the summer for a cool treat.

I have been following Playa Bowls on Instagram for a few months but never made it out to try them. Finally one day after picking my kids up from school, I took them out there to grab one since it was super hot outside and I knew they would like a cool snack before dinner. We ordered the Nutaya-Pitaya bowl, and it blew our minds! So fresh, so much flavor, so many layers of different colors and textures! This wasn't just fabulous on your taste buds, it was fun to look at too with so many bright and vivid colors. The menu has options for everything you could want. Very clean inside, great and friendly staff. Even if it's cold outside, I'll still make a trip here to get a big dose of fresh fruit and yumminess! Definitely a place to try. The bowls are a bit large, my daughter and I shared one, I don't think I could finish one by myself unless I was going to eat it as a meal replacement. But that's just me. They are tucked away in the Villages at Stone Oak, enjoy your Playa Bowl sitting outside or walking around, it's very nice and peaceful.

They will not give you water here. The owner wants to make people buy $6 bottles of water so they will not give you tap water.

It looks like a little mom and pop taco shop, nothing fancy about the interior, but it was clean and the staff was friendly. They have a decent selection of items on the menu, so that was nice; not too limited and not overwhelming. The prices were great, and the self-serve salsa bar was really great, too! Lots of yummy salsa to pick from ranging in levels of spiciness. They served us warm, fresh corn chips while we waited for our food. I ended up ordering the tripas taco (with extra crispy tripas), and a potato and egg taco. (Can't remember what my friend ordered, but her tacos looked good, too. :) ) To our great surprise, when the tacos came out they were PACKED full!! The tripas were cooked perfectly, the potatos were cooked thoroughly (I hate when places dont fully cook the potatoes and they are kinda stiff/hard when biting into them) and the eggs were fluffy. All in all it was a nice, low-key taco place. Only thing that kept me from giving them 5 stars is that the tortillas are not made from scratch, but over all great little taco place in the Bitters area.

I usually have to order two tacos from most places to get full. This place really stuffs their tacos and I usually find that one is enough. Service has always been quick here. I recommend this place for great service and great tacos.

Starting with the free chips and salsa bar: Salsa bar: I only tried Roja, Quemada, and Arizona. If you're looking for true heat, it's not gonna live up. If you're looking for solid heat with flavor, it'll hit the spot. Arizona was good. Kinda tasted like it would make a good enchilada sauce. It's very tomato sauce heavy. Not much heat to it. Quemada had great flavor and a building heat, which had me surprised that Arizona was considered spicier. If you're into spicy food with good flavor, go with Quemada. Roja was solid. Good flavor. If you can't handle much heat and you usually eat medium level salsa, you should be fine with this one. Beef chimichanga was absolutely delicious. I'd definitely order it again in a heartbeat. The chile relleno was delicious, but I was definitely surprised by the flavor. Rather than being a deep fried batter, it tasted like it was coated in the masa used to make the tamales and I'm not mad at it. It was delicious! The taquitos were good nothing worth writing home about, but perfect for the boring people in a party who can't fathom ordering real food. Seafood enchiladas were a bit of a letdown because they came with enchilada gravy. Maybe it's just me, but seafood enchiladas should have a white or green sauce. Queso blanco, even. Not brown gravy. It tasted alright, but it did not hit the spot and I won't waste my time ordering them here. That horchata was bomb, though! It comes in the ridiculously oversized cups and/or oversized to go cups (as it should). Had to have two. Totally worth it.

I will say the GPS got a little confused in the route for some reason and I nearly missed an exit and even the entrance (there was some construction going on) There is plenty of parking, but the parking lot was pretty full. You walk up and either walk through the courtyard style Biergarten with tables or you can go inside. It was an unseasonably nice day, so, we opted to sit outside There is a QR code to view the menus.
