My new favorite spot for all things açaí and dessert...Was in the mood for something sweet and used my trusted Yelp app to help make a decision. So glad I found Playa Bowls in downtown Decatur, it far from the square. I was greeted upon entry and they was very patient answering all my questions. I ordered the CoCo Craze bowl and it was amazing! A huge plus is that they are open until 10pm. Don't walk, run to this place...

So happy that Decatur finally has a Playa Bowls. Ever since I discovered the one in Chamblee I've thought Decatur would be a great location for one! If you've never been to a Playa Bowls, it's straight island vibes with light healthy refreshing snacks. They provide an array of fruit bowls. Mostly know for their açaí bowls. They have smoothies as well. Everything is super customizable as well. Highly suggest checking it out. This location is in the downtown decatur area. Great spot to grab a bowl and go hang on the square green space. It's clean and the employees have been super kind I typically order the Nutella bowl!

New location in downtown Decatur. Hours on the door.

I ordered online the PB and Jammin' açaí bowl for my son and me. It was ready in the 20 min predicted and was waiting in their fridge in a bag to go. There is a parking garage attached with free parking for 30 min or pay street parking. My son and I really enjoy the different acai bowl which are refreshing and satisfying. If you go in person and order in person on a Saturday, be prepared to wait. Save yourself some time by ordering online. There is a small convenience fee online.

I always gave Sushi Avenue good marks, but it's the difference between watching the Gwinnett Stripers and the Atlanta Braves. Everything we had was amazing. They also have a tuna cutting coming up. I'd kill to be there, but at $250/person it doesn't fit the budget at the moment. Try the picante roll.

I got there early was able to get a seat and tried a Tokyo Autumn which is made with vodka, ginger beer, ginger, cucumber and mint--extremely refreshing and a nice way to start off the meal. We did food family style. We ordered the addictive cabbage which is made with raw cabbage, sesame oil and fried garlic chips (super tasty and I understand why they call it that) as well as the smoked scallop. It has an amazing presentation and the sauce I was able to put on the cabbage as well. It only has 2 pieces but was worth it. For the rolls, we ordered the Picante (not pictured), Fujisan and Love Triangle. My favorite roll was the picante because of the spice and the Fujisan had too much imitation crab meat for my liking. Quiet, unassuming spot that has booth seating and tables with chairs that could fit groups of up to 4-5 comfortably. There were two servers who rotated and were helping all the tables and were very sweet. I'll definitely come back!

Customer service was decent, so let's get to the good stuff. The portions are huge, even for our UberEats order (be honest, restaurants really play around when it comes to takeout sometimes). I got a small bowl, le husband got medium. When I saw the size after he pulled it out the bag I let out an audible gasp LMAO. I was eating that bowl for a solid 40 min, no exaggeration. It literally felt like the food was magically replenishing itself as I was eating it. Stuffed! The quality of the ingredients was immaculate for a fast casual spot. Everything that was supposed to crunch, CRONCHED. The sauces were plentiful and not overly sweet. The crab salad was bountiful and ummm for no up-charge?! I mean there was barely anything on the BYO selections that they charged extra for and I'm so used to places like this pulling every cent possible that they can. To be fair the bowls are not crazy cheap (~$20 on UE) but you are legitimately getting a ton of food for no extra $. No pics to back it up this time cause mama was hooongreeee. Run, jog, skate, scooter, ANYTHING but walk for some good poke!

They offer a great variety of bases, and I opted for the salad base, which was crisp and refreshing. There are so many toppings to choose from, but the seaweed salad and the imitation crab salad were definitely my favorites. Just shut the place down already. The vibe emanating from this poke spot is truly insufferable,…read moremostly because of the staff this time around. The poke is middle of the road at best, so the customer experience is important to really sell the product and retain the client here... So why are customers a sounding board for staff to complain about management?! "Vicky only cares about us if we're making her money"... ummmm yeah that's kinda how a job works? Lord help our young people. I have spent many years in and out of food service and I genuinely could not understand how they couldn't handle average order volume without becoming angry with or around customers? I rarely do this type of review but the experience here was so unprofessional that I had to... this refers to the service provided by a young albino man and a young black woman with braids. Their misery fed off of each other. Just angrily throwing ingredients every which way. And you already know the order was wrong... We were wayyyy in Smyrna when we placed an order to go, drove for 20min to pickup on the way home and STILL had to wait an extra 20min for what's supposed to be fast casual. There were maybe 5 active orders, and that's counting online and in-store. This job literally requires you to scoop and package... it's not that hard. Miss mamas was snapping at EVERYONE who came through the door and her counterpart was just eating it up. MISERABLE. I have never seen that type of behavior so brazen behind a counter. I still cannot wrap my head around why people who don't like people choose customer service for employment??? The owner needs to cut ties with these two immediately. It is better to cut your losses early than have your own employees deterring your business! Add in the very questionable health scores and dirty tables (that I'm sure those two contribute to) and it's just not worth a return, no matter how good their loyalty program is.
