This place is awesome! I visit fiends down in OC MD all the time and we always get açaí bowls. I've been looking for somewhere to bring these babies up to PA and I've found it! The açaí mix was perfect, not too runny not too stiff and they had options beyond açaí blends. I'm talking kale, banana and other crazy amazing options. If you're in Bethlehem PA please take the time to stop for one of the healthiest and most delicious snacks on the planet. This place has it down. And it's fast too! Service was perfect! read more

Before you don't see the 5 star rating...I'll make short of it...the product is excellent, GO.......it's fresh, healthy, and tastes great (and this is from a person that loves unhealthy prepackaged items too). As I said, really fresh items and made to order. Have never had anything that I didn't like (have had 6 different bowls now). If there is a drawback, I went there initially thinking it was more of a "chill" type of vibe...and the atmosphere of the store is that way with the ping pong and the tables you sit at.....however the staff does come off a bit pretentious. Asking the difference between some of the base of the bowls should have had better description (not all of us eat Acai Berry every day.....so just saying it repeatedly doesn't answer the question what the Acai base in the bowl tastes like....it's like saying Lemonade tastes lemons when asked....you have to say cold, sweet, tart or all of the above...this is just an example). So they take a hit of a star for killing the vibe I was hoping for. That and it really isn't particularly cheap. On average $10 a bowl. It sure is good though..... read more

Expensive and need to stay away if you have food allergies. $8 for a small bowl of oatmeal and they don't have milk. Also, wonder about the use of Nutella especially since the harvesting of Nutella is so bad for the environment. It was also very disturbing that their beautiful plant display was dead and dying. It appears no one waters or cares for the plants. That was very sad and disturbing. Appears the women working were working hard yet they didn't seem ready to answer questions about food. They did not appear engaged or happy. The rest of my family enjoyed their bowls very much. One of my daughters did have an allergic reaction to the food. We were aware that there was the possibility of cross contamination. It also appears they do not recycle. Again, disturbing. read more

I got a poke bowl and it was not good at all - I ordered the salmon avocado and I couldn't see any avocado in there and the salmon was poor quality (at least from what I could tell; there was so much sauce on it I really couldn't distinguish anything from anything else). My friend got an acai bowl and said it was okay, so if you are going to come here, definitely don't come for the poke and get an acai bowl instead. read more

I love this place! It's a great addition to Bethlehem. They have a wide selection of bowls that are very customizable. I've never had acai before coming here, and the girls up front were very friendly and allowed me to try all their different bases. I try to get something different every time I come here, and every bowl that I have had has been delicious! It also helps my conscience that I'm eating something relatively healthy. read more

I love the look of this place when you walk in. After seeing posts on Instagram of Playa Bowls, I found out there's on in Bethlehem and took the drive to find out what's the hype about. Definitely won me over. There's so many options and the Bowls come out looking so beautiful you want to take as many photos before eating it. Definitely recommend to anyone! read more

Playa Bowls - Açaí bowl - Juice Bars & Smoothies Near Me - Bethlehem, Pennsylvania

TLDR: overpriced food and slow service I came in on a Tuesday around noon and ordered a "Power" bowl. As I sat in their open concept seating area, I watched the workers cleaning their station, restocking ingredients, and chatting with one another. It was good to see the workers taking care of their station, but I wondered who was attending the orders. Ten minutes later, another fellow walks in and orders. Shortly after, I see a worker walk over to a previously blended mix and dish up two bowls - my order was served 15 minutes after I ordered but was apparently ready to mix before I even got there, which was a bit frustrating. The bowl itself was good, but nothing outstanding. For the price point, it definitely left me wanting. read more

The options and toppings are plentiful and delicious! I highly recommend trying it out, but go when you have time to chill for a minute. I've been to about a dozen Playa Bowls (mostly in NJ) and it usually takes a good bit to get your food. They do make them to order and the process does take some time, but it's well worth it if you have the time. Their coffees and other beverages are also great and nutritious. The best part - they are expanding locations very rapidly, so check out a location near you. read more

Loveddd the flavors and how nicely put together it looks. You can create your own combo Staff are super friendly Menu is on a chalkboard is in nice colors read more

Loved it! So many fresh combinations for bowls and juices. Had the Trailblazer chia bowl and the Mermaid Fuel juice. Although there was a large chuck of unblended chia in the middle that had to be thrown away the bowl was really tasty and a lot of food. The juice was delicious. One bowl and a small juice came to a little over $14....pricey but very fresh and nutritious. A nice breakfast alternative. read more

I currently attend Lehigh University, and I love walking down to Playa Bowls to grab a healthy snack! The bowls here are delicious and I always feel amazing after eating them. However, I think the bowls are a bit pricey, but they are extremely healthy, so I think they're worth it! I usually go when I feel like I need a little health boost. Highly recommend! read more

Always had a great experience at Playa Bowls. It's clean, the workers are friendly and such a great atmosphere. Depending on time of the day, the wait can be a little much for a smoothie bowl, but I think it's worth the wait! read more

Hair nets highly recommended! No one wants to have to document a hair in their bowl as if it were a crime scene. If your employees don't wear one don't question or doubt the customer when they raise the issue of one in their bowl.. Would be amazing place if bowls were consistent and hairless read more

Convenient location, many vegan options and vegetarian. Tasty. I'd give more stars but the fruit isn't organic. There are many kinds of smoothies and bowls to choose from and they have a decent oatmeal. read more

LOVE!! I've gone a handful of times in the past couple weeks. The Nutella bowl is beyond delicious and the fruit is always so fresh!

Prior to my past few experience I would have given this establishment a five star review. Unfortunately, lately their service has been slacking. If you have an allergy make sure you not only ask at the register for the menu modification also double check when you pick up your bowl. It took three tries to make my bowl the way I ordered it. Not sure if I will come back to this location... read more

Such a fun, cute place! I have been to very many different açaí bowl places and this place is top notch!! The bowls I've had are delicious, a mixture of açaí and the coconut base is my favorite. The only problem is the service. The service is horrible. All there bases are usually already blended, it just has to be scooped into the bowls. I watched a kid scoop my bowl yesterday and it took him almost 5 minutes just to scoop the base into the bowl!! It was mind blowing, I wanted to get back there and do it myself! Besides the bad service the place is excellent and I plan to go back as much as possible. read more

For what you're paying for, you aren't going to find anything better in the area. Ingredients were as fresh as can be and the taste was exquisite. Price is more than you would pay at most lunch spots, but you're paying for the quality. Also, the staff was great and the atmosphere of the store was a big vibe. Highly recommend! read more

Best fruit/smoothie/bowl shop in townnn, love this place. I go almost everyday. Don't pass this up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've been coming here for a while and have been a very loyal customer, but I have been disappointed the last few visits. Portion sizes have definitely decreased, and consistency of the base was too watery. Also, the worker messed up my order (TWICE) and gave so much attitude when I told her about it. That's not acceptable quality of food or service at all- especially for the price. read more

actually horrible service and didn't t offer to make a new one when they messed up my bowl twice

super great place, I ordered delivery and wow it was fast. I got a beets bowl and a mango smoothie. super yum. ALL of the plastics used are biodegradable or compostable. That is what I am looking for, great restaurants making a difference. You guys rock. read more

Playa bowls has great açaí bowls but they are very inconsistent and unreliable with their hours of operation. We called to verify hours the day before then went there and they closed an hour earlier. This happened to us on more than one occasion. So be sure to check hours first! Not cool.... but great bowls and shakes. Do better with keeping your hours at the Bethlehem location. This would be 4 stars on food but poor service read more

I love your food but... one of your employees had no clue what "agave" was. We called in an order over the phone substituting honey with agave and he had no clue what we were saying. He didn't know the correct pronunciation - ah gav aae. He finally figured it out after going back and forth for a few minutes and said oh you mean "a-gave" - no sorry sir that is not who you pronounce it. Might want to teach your employees up on that considering I am sure a lot of people order it. read more

I just moved from California where places like this are on every corner, and I'm so glad I found this place. It is a lot pricier for what you get compared to California, but that's probably because it's harder to access fresh fruit and I know açaí is expensive. This place is really good!!! They have a ton of options! I wish they would have a rewards card, I'd be here everyday! They also have nitro coffee and Playa bowl merch... I'll be back!!!! :) read more

I had a great experience at Playa Bowls on my lunch break. It is in a great location and I was able to walk there from my office. The atmosphere is unique, open, and welcoming. At first, the various options were overwhelming, but the staff was extremely helpful in guiding my menu selection. David gave me his personal recommendation to add Nutella instead of honey, which I greatly enjoyed. It really elevated the pitaya bowl and paired nicely with the strawberries. While waiting for my order to be made, my co worker and I used the time to play a round of ping pong. Overall, I would give my experience a 5/5 because from beginning to end I had no complaints about the food, staff, and atmosphere. read more

The food was pretty good when we finally got it. The line was literally out the door on a random semi-warm Saturday in the spring. There were about 5 people behind the counter and they were trying, but seemed disorganized and overwhelmed. Clearly need more staff. It took a solid half hour to get our food and other people were walking out leaving. They kept forgetting our drink and I kept having to remind them. The food was fine but I would NOT go back again unless I happened to see the place is empty. The wait was ridiculous. read more

One of my favorite places to go get a healthy treat for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Very friendly staff and great tasting food!

Bad service. Do not give you the same amount of açaí as other playa bowls locations. Fill the bowl with açaí to about 1/4 the way. Contacted them about it and they gave me 10% off my next order.... Not the first time I've been here either. It's consistently less than other playa bowls locations. Wouldn't recommend. read more
