They have an excellent selection of 45s with pictures sleeves for those into that. Really fun to go though those, reminds me of my younger days browsing the singles section at Tower Records to see what was new. The only downside to this place is that albums not in the bins are not priced (ones on side or under the shelves) so you have to ask them to price it which leaves me in an awkward situation when i decide that it is priced too high. Also takes a long time. I would just suggest skipping those that are not priced.

I am floored by the amount of books, in every single category imaginable. Yes, they have a large children's section. There is a giant plush figure standing near a black pole in front of the children's books. I checked out each floor. I'm a sucker for novelty items, which they have plenty of. They sell multiple models of Polaroid cameras and film. Tons of calendars in different formats. Their vinyl room is on the ground floor, in the back. The store is sleek, clean, and organized. If you're in Berlin, I recommend visiting this store.

Beyond an insane collection of books, they also have tons of very unique novelty items that make great gifts or, something for yourself-- something that you never knew you needed. This shop is a multilevel business. They have multiple floors with books and other items on every floor. Plus, it is just stuffed full with an insane amount of books covering all varieties to quench your reading experience. As mentioned, they are much more than just an incredible bookstore. They also have a great selection of vinyl. So, for all of you vinyl enthusiasts, this is a great place to go and find that unique piece of music that you've wanted either very recently or all the way back to when you were young. If you're lucky, you might even find here selections from an eclectic dub techno label from San Francisco called de'fchild (defchild.com) Hardwax, is located on the 3rd floor of the building, up through a heavily graffiti-ed stairwell, deep within a courtyard, recessed from the street. Best record shopping experience I had on a recent trip to Berlin…read more The store is not necessarily the best stocked in town, but there are gems to be found at prices that are not extortionate. Also one of the few (only?) places that has a small selection of cassette tapes, vintage magazines and books on music as well as the usual records and CDs. The guy working at the time was very friendly even to an ignorant Englishman such as myself that can't speak German, nor even attempt to given I have no knowledge of the language at all. Most impressive of all, he rounded up my purchases to €35 and threw in the approx. €6 worth of 7" singles I'd picked out for free. He didn't have to do that at all, but he called it a "thank you for coming" gift. Don't expect that treatment just because you read it here of course - I wouldn't expect it again if I went back - but its touches like that that make a visit here a very welcoming experience, unmatched in Berlin from my currently limited experience.
