They literally passed on so many nice brand name clothing/shoes. Waste of time and energy! Don't go there!

I brought 3 high end designer products and they didn't call me like they said they would .. I waited a whole day . Instead of saying they couldn't afford the value of these items . There is a white girl with bangs glasses and tinsel in her hair who isn't the best at her job. it took almost 4 hours for her to go through my items to sell even tho I went when the place opened. She said it would take two hours which is still longer than any other plato's i've sold my things to. I went back after two hours and she hadn't even gone through them even though i was for sure one of the first ppl of the day to bring things. i left and came back and she was done looking through my stuff but didn't bother to call me! I don't think she has great taste either. i don't know why she wouldn't take a Marc jacob's or Louis Vuitton bag in great condition.I don't think she knows value or fashion taste. I had a really good experience at this location! The owner and staff was polite and the service for a Plato's Closet was good in my opinion. I brought some items to sell and also browsed the store while they were going through the items, there are some really nice shoe and purses pieces! Definitely seems like they choose high quality pieces to sell. Will be back! read more

Went in around 4... told me an hour and they would text me. 6 o'clock comes around and still haven't gotten a text, I finally called and they said it "may be done" so I went in around 7 giving them a little more time. My bag was not looked through I had purposely put my clothes a certain way to see if they would look through it. They told me they could take none of it... shocker. Boy and girl were holding back laughs as I took my bag. Management needs to make sure these high schoolers are actually doing their job. I live an hour away and wasted 4 hours out here waiting for them to not even look through my bag. Which had at least 4 Lululemon items bought in the past year just to add. Do not waste your time here very disappointed and I'm not usually one to leave a bad review unless I have a very bad experience. I came here in the summer and had a great experience. My how things have changed here!!! You can take clothing here today and they are not interested in them but bring the exact same clothes back in a couple of days and they buy them all. It just depends on who is working. There is no consistency anymore. They are also paying less for your items but are charging considerably more when selling. Some of their designer handbags you can buy cheaper at the store when they are having a sale. And they are new!!! read more

The store didn't have very many brand options. The variety of brands were also little. Many random brands that I have never heard of. The prices are a little higher than other stores I have been to. There was a large variety of shoes though. Don't forget to look at their social medias to see any current sales going on. read more

Came here to sell. Brought in MULTIPLE nice name brand athletic clothes and men's jeans. None of which were bought (that's okay, but shocking). The clothes that were nicely folded in my bag were returned just shoved in the bag. No care taken what so ever. Don't bother coming here. Never had this happen to me at the Frederick location. First time visiting this store. My daughter took time to freshly wash and fold all her items. They were placed in a large tote bag. She also had 2 smaller totes one with purses and the second with brand new shoes. One still in the box. They told her it would be an hour to go through and they would call her. Almost exactly an hour later they called her saying they were ready. When we got there all her items were in 2 large trash bags. The boy behind the counter said they spotted a stink bug and would go no farther. Two things with that first of all I could see if it was a roach or spider or something like that but a stink bug??? Second if they found it and stopped why did they make us wait an hour?? Many of her items still had the tags on them. Would not recommend this location at all read more

I have been shopping here for the last few years. The jeans and shorts are a good price. Some shirts if on "50% off" aren't a bad deal, but $10 for a used Nike t shirt that shows signs of wear--not so much. Sometimes you can luck into like brand new or brand new shoes cheap as well. However, right now they are not allowing their dressing rooms to be open. My daughter is between sizes and she put jeans on over top her leggings and the one "worker" chose to gripe about it. I told her it's ridiculous I can take the items on my car, to my house, put them anywhere in my home, back into a bag, back into my car and then return them WITHIN 7 days... Same "worker" was at the front "modeling" with another "worker" (the one who rattled to the other one who confronted me, admiring themselves in the mirror while another cashier checked us out. She took her good old time getting the 2 pairs of shoes mates (they keep them in the back) and was quite a smart a$$ telling me to make sure they were right as the shoes are not returnable. Ironic most of the other negative reviews are over the employees. Even if they cannot control of their dressing rooms are open they could use some sense and work with customers and not be snarky and rude. This employee should be reprimanded for her demeanor and lack of professionalism and lack of work ethic. I may go back in time and likely she will not be employed there anyway. :) read more

Customer service here was ok. I brought a few items in from my closet, and was told on arrival, I could "borrow" a laundry basket due to Covid, but next time I would need to bring my own. After browsing the store for a good 45 mins, (I was told it would take about 15 mins) the end result was the things I brought were "too formal" and "too stained" for Plato's Closet to want to buy from me. Lesson learned here folks: if your items aren't on trend for the season, take your business elsewhere. read more

The employees and owner do not allow you to shop in peace. They treat you like a criminal. As if you're gonna steal stuff that looks like junk. The stuff in her store looks dirty and extremely overpriced. She's very greedy. The store has went down hill for sure. read more

I am ripped off 30 dollars by an associate that wanted to throw the product under the shelf the worst customer experience I have ever had I will never shop there again they raised prices to say they were 90 percent off and when brought to the associates attention the had to pull cameras to find the product they made me out like I was the liar and associates deliberately didn't give me the product I paid for read more

wish i could give a zero star, employees are rude, and either don't look the clothes or they're are EXTREMELY selective.

If you want great customer service don't expect it here. You'll just get ignored. You're better off taking your items that you want to sell and your business to the one in Frederick. At least at that one you'll get greeted with a smile once you walk in. read more

Update: Feb 2019-Gave this place one more try... to my surprise... it was a completely different experience! :) This time, a older woman was at the counter....she was extremely pleasant... AND I could tell-she actually went through my stuff this time! Yeah!!! A lot more items were taken... so much so, I made over $100. Please note, you don't get a ton for your money but it's worth getting at least something for items you no longer wear! The associate told me they are in need of more men's clothing...so if you have some men's items that you no longer wear, go, give this place a try...get the items out of your house and let someone else enjoy them while you make a few bucks off them. I'm SO glad I was open and gave this place another try... it was well worth it! Great customer service.. no extra talking at the registers.. I didn't hear about drama that happened at a party, or whose boyfriend did what... none of that.....it was business... how it should be... thank you!!! Do not waste your time going here! I went in August 2019 and the customer service was okay, the associate was working on something when I first walked in... I located the sign in sheet and she finally came over. She then spoke and asked if I've ever consigned there before... the usual questions. I was told it would be an hour and a half wait.. that's normal too! I was asked if I wanted to be called when the buy was completed. I responded yes and went on my merry way. After TWO hours, I decided to go back to the store to check. I walked in and there were two girls near the back dressing rooms chatting it up, they paid me NO attention. I waited patiently at the counter and once the associate came up, she immediately grabbed my items, she remembered me from the drop off. They only accepted three items and gave me basically $10. Not surprised. Here's the part you should know, I then drove to the Frederick location, took in the SAME items and they accepted 20 of the items. I type all this to say, they didn't even go through my items, I looked before going into hem next location and my items were folded and in the same order as I dropped them off. Now how is that possible? I guess they were too busy doing whatever they do and didn't even take the time to go through my items. So don't get frustrated if they don't take your items, drive another 30 miles on I-70 and I promise you... your items will be reviewed and you potentially can make more money! I took a tote in this past week full of clothes. The guy at the front told me 30 mins. I waited & waited, finally after 2 hours of not seeing my name on the board I asked how much longer. My stuff was done they just never put my name on the board. They gave me $30 for 8 items, which I found odd since I had a ton of brand new clothes (hollister, pink, Victoria secret, American eagle etc.) So I took the tote home and looked threw it. They never went threw the clothes! The same clothes I folder in the middle & on the bottom all still folded and in the same spot I put them! This is the biggest waste of time. There's a same worker that always has attitude and is so rude about all take ins. The wait times are a joke. One girl told me about 2 hours for small amount of items brought in. I waited about 3 hours to come back to pick up my items. THEY NEVER EVEN STARTED. Both of the workers laughed and said they couldn't start yet and had to come back next day. Drove an hour to Plato's and took nothing because it was "too mature" yet all they're other clothes were the exact same as mine. Not impressed by this place at all when selling clothes. I took in numerous items, and of the items they took 10 (including a brand new paid of Nike shoes). They bought all 10 items for $24.00 which I wasn't impressed with but sold it. Given that my remaining items were nice, I took them to another Plato's. 7 extra items were bought, and were bought for $47.00. read more
