Not necessarily the "best" Plato's closet I've been to. I didn't see any diamonds in the rough as far as items go this time around. The service was okay but there was a comment said by an employee about how we were dressed (in our Sunday church clothes) that I think was uncalled for. I have recently started going to Plato's closet because I heard some good things about them.That is not the case...There are 3 nice workers and the rest are flat out rude.Always having there boyfriends sitting on the counter and watching movies/on FaceTime.But that's not it.When you bring in items they take it for themselves and don't pay so it is totally not worth it!Also I would just like to point out that yesterday I brought in a bag of clothes and they only accepted two of the items....when I had lots of new free people and lulu items.Well I took them same bag in there today and they took almost the whole bag.Well my cousin wanted to take some of her clothes and so I said well you can just take my bag that's leftover and add your stuff.They excepted it and told me it would be about an hour. So we go pick up her bag. They take two of the items and say we'll have to red flag you and if you get three you can no longer shop or sell clothes here.But here is what I am not understanding.it was okay to bring them same bag of clothes from yesterday but all of the sudden it is not ok now...I'm just not understanding.And another thing why are they rejecting nice stuff.have you seen some of the stuff on there shelves.absolutely ridiculous.and they buy something from you for 3 dollars and sell it for like 20 IT DOES NOT MAKE SENSE!!!! Another thing my mom brought in some shoes the other day and got five dollars for them and while me and my cousin were there today we saw them on the shelves for 25 dollars!!!!!! I usually love a good Plato's but their customer service time and time is horrible. Constantly on FaceTimes or just flat out rude and belittling energy. Don't act like helping us or checking us out is interrupting or wasting your time. Needs a heavy staffing change read more

love shopping at Plato's in Dothan for their amazing selection of name brand clothes at affordable prices. However, I have to say that the customer service is horrible. Honestly, if I could rank this so called "business " a zero I would. I feel played with some of the most creative wack excuses covered up lies in the world. I had some designer well known name brand items that was labeled as "stained" but I had just washed and prepped the clothes the night before!!!! I talked with an employee prior and was told to bring graphic tees and athletic wear because that's what was needed yet I witness them buy some pleather pants vs what they told me what they were looking for. Don't get me wrong I understand this is a thrift store but they so called manager could've saved her lies! I am disgusted & will never spend my money here! Period. read more

HORRIBLE customer service! I went in a few weeks ago to sell/buy clothes. I brought things that were in very nice or new condition. The girl was sooo rude. It was almost like she was mad that she had to go through my clothes. I don't live in Dothan and was told it'd be 45 mins and that she'd call when they were ready for pickup. 3 hours passed and still no call, so I had to go back to the store to see if they were finished and she still had an attitude. Also, I brought some boots in really good condition (retails for $120) and they were gonna give me $8 for them. I understand that they can only offer a certain percentage, but there were similar/same boots on the shelf for $60-$80. I also feel like they take stuff without paying you for it because I had a large number of branded items and only received $40 back. Totally not worth it and I probably won't be back to this store. read more

I've never been very impressed with their buy back program as I've brought some really nice stuff that was turned away. Could be due to their high volume of things they get, but I'd rather them say that than tell me my clothes were out of style/worn out (they were neither). As far as purchasing things from them, the experience is fine. Decent prices, good selection, and the service depends on who's there. read more
