AND A "THRIFT STORE" that makes the goodwill look like a dump! (In Japan where I'm from, we call these "up-cycled goods" stores, some having refurbished and totally re-created-from-used items; which are all very popular.) Absolutely fantastic selection, cleanliness, prices, clearance deals and service by the coolest staff. So unlike others including goodwill too. Great selection of gently used clothes and shoes. Things are well organized here and there is a wide variety to choose from. If you're coming here to sell items, definitely check the time of day they are accepting as it could be frustrating if you drive all this way just to not be able to sell anything. It's a family favorite and sure beats mall prices. read more

Waste of time! I visited the store last Sunday and was told upon arrival that they were no longer accepting items for the day. I asked how customers are informed of this and the associate said he thought it was posted online. I checked and it was not. I returned to the store today, calling first to confirm they were still accepting items. As I walked in the door with an arm full of clothes the associate asked if I had a bag for the items. Apparently more than five items must be brought in a bag. She then told me there was a 2-1/2 hour wait before they could go through my items. Seriously? Why wouldn't you share this info with customers? I will not return. read more

A really great place for "young chippies" to get deals on (gently) used clothing. The store itself if overwhelming. There are thousands of pieces of clothing and accessories, all packed in. My daughter got two nice dress pieces of clothing, and I surprisingly got a nice pair of linen shorts and a "Cotton On" top. We waited in line for nearly 15 minutes and it was crowded as all get out. Props to the cashiers who remained cool under pressure. I would suggest going on a weekday/night because Sunday was pure insanity. read more

I stopped in today while I was in the area and was really disappointed. While the store itself is large (2 store fronts essentially), they literally have NO name brands. I think the highest end thing I saw was VSX sportswear and LulaRoe. After reading the reviews ahead of time, I decided not to bring any items here to sell. I'm glad I didn't bother. Also there were kids running around unattended. The Platos in PA have a much better selection and lack of daycare atmosphere. I honestly don't know how they make money. read more

It's okay. Not much to expect from a fast cash clothing sales store. The selection can be promising but you really have to do a lot of searching. The way the women's shoes are laid out is absolutely awful. This store is the best in the area. I would give a much lower rating if I could. Me and my girlfriend went to go and sell our lightly to never used clothes and the service was horrific. First they had us wait for about 3-4 hours with my service dog and then the woman that was looking through our things kept snickering and making nasty expressions at my service dog as if to rile my dog up. They were unprofessional and terribly rude. After they were done going through the things they said they couldn't take anything because it wasn't "in season" but they took everyone else's things who weren't Caucasian. They were racist and unprofessional to me, my service dog and my girlfriend. I DO NOT recommend that ANYONE goes there. read more

I should have read reviews before I wasted my time. I brought large tote bag of all designer clothing and a genuine leather Brooks Brothers purse. They wanted to pay ne $20 for four pair of jeans and the purse that retailed for over $250. When I asked what was allotted for the purse she said $3.61. I took purse back. I've snagged some pretty cute things from here. Granted, it's a big store and you have to search a bit - but let's be serious - most things are under $10 and you'll pay a lot more at a retail store. I follow them on Instagram and they have 2 for $9 deals once and a while on items such as shorts and tanks which is a steal. I've found many things with brand new tags on them. I've never sold anything - but it's fun to browse through and see what you can find. read more

They sometimes have good stuff if you really look but this place makes me livid. I came on a Thursday at 6pm to sell my clothes, they told me they stop accepting clothes at 5pm and to come back the next day before 5pm , so i came back the next day at 2pm on the dot and the lady said they stop accepting clothes at 2pm. I explained how the day before I was told to come in before 5 and she said sorry. What a waste of time and gas. Employees don't know what they're saying and half of the clothes they're selling have stains on them! Don't bother trying to sell your clothes here . Went back at 6:20 to pick up my close today after they looked through them and theyre closed for preparing for black friday, and I understand that but POST IT ONLINE SOMEWHERE!! And your website says you take 1-18 bags of clothes maybe you should change that too since its 2 per person per day. Waste of gas just for them to not even give me back my clothes. This place is ok if you want to hunt for good stuff. It's hit or miss. I have found better items at goodwill. I brought some name brand items in to clean out my closet. Some still had tags. Was thinking I could make a little cash. Well that's exactly what they offered me little cash. I dumped all of the items back into my own bin and walked. I'd rather give it to a charitable thrift store for free if that's all they are going to give me. Now I know why they don't have any good items. Was in a few weeks ago with my daughter, so I asked the girl at counter if they take womens plus size clothes, she said yes we are in need of them, we don't have much and many people ask. I told her I had alot if TORRID dresses and shirts only worn once or twice. She said please bring them in. So I go today with huge bag of stuff, the young boy checks my stuff and says, WE CAN'T BUY ANY OF YOUR THINGS, THESE SIZES DON'T SELL WELL HERE, ummmmm, probly cause you don't have anything plus size here. The clothes in this store are dirty and store is a mess and smells like they spray everything with AXE before you hang it for sale. This has got to be the worst Plato's closet I've ever visited. My boyfriend brought in brand new Nike and Puma clothing, mostly athletic wear, they didn't take a single thing. Articles that still had tags on them. While we were waiting for my stuff to be done, we overheard an employee telling a customer they were super interested in men's clothing. What a joke. I sat and watched them not even look at the clothing and just throw it back in the customers bag. They tried to give me $2.50 for a $40 pair of fashion nova jeans with the tags attached. They must all have the same boring sense of fashion style or something. I'll never be back and I highly recommend not stepping foot in this place to sell. read more

I actually really like this Plato's closet. To be honest it does have a lot of stuff geared towards younger girls (like Victoria's Secret pink) but it's neat and I always find something really nice in there. Their prices are really cheap and stuff in there and it isn't overly colorful like some people have said, but definitely don't go in there looking for work attire. However, for workout clothes or if you're going to the beach I would definitely shop here. read more

This store is a complete waste of time and a total rip off. They have no regards for their selling customers. I brought in designer "in season" items from a very expensive and exclusive boutique in Brooklyn, along with some timeless pieces from American Apparel that they don't even sell in their stores any more. All of the pieces were highly modern and "in season" for the upcoming fall. They offered me less than 1/4 of what the items were worth. I will never step foot into this store again. I used to really enjoy this store but today I noticed how overrun this store has become with children who are unattended. I was looking through the racks when I saw 2 kids running straight toward me & 1 tripped and knocked her huge plastic toy right onto my feet!!! Their parents were no where to be found of course as I rubbed my ankle and exposed feet that were now throbbing in pain. I dropped my clothes and left annoyed. Not only did it take over an hour but they only took 4 items and gave me $9 for everything they took. I would never go back there. If you are anything older than a teenager, do not go to this Platos to sell or buy your clothing. I am a 24 year old with expensive, non trendy, classic taste. I recently took a few large bags of very gently worn and in great condition (most of my clothes are dry clean or hand wash only) and they took about 4 pieces for $18, one of which was a pair of Underarmour leggings that were too big for me. They seem to only cater to those who shop at places like American Eagle, Forever21, and Victoria's Secret. They didn't take items from J.Crew, Free People, Ralph Lauren, Anthropologie, True Religion denim, Guess, YFB, BCBG, and a Dooney and Burke satchel. All of these items are in great condition and classic pieces. No crop tops or bell sleeves that go out of fashion in one season. It is worth noting the young women behind the counter are completely subjective, the girl who went through my clothes had exposed bra straps and an ill fitting crop top, so I shouldn't be surprised. While I was waiting I took the time to browse their selection of chaos, I mean clothes. Most of the items were for tweens and teens, I didn't see anything I would wear. A lot of their clothing had piling and wear and it seems they're really focusing on "athleisure". Anywho, after they were finished going through my clothes, my items were returned for being "boxy", mind you I'm a size 0/S in shirts and a size 26 in pants. By boxy, I take it, they meant they couldn't sell anything to the 14 year olds who shop here. I went home and created a PoshMark closet and have already sold $200 worth of the clothes I never wear. This place is located in a complex exactly diagonal from the Deptford Mall in South Jersey. One of the teenagers I mentored wanted to come here. She said there were some brand name things she liked. I believe it might be a brand name thrift shop. It seemed not so bad here, but just not my size. There was a moderate amount of used clothing here, shoes, and accessories. So far it wasn't really my spot but who knows I've only been there once. I have to stop myself from coming to this location sometimes because I love it so much. Prices have gone up over the years but so has the quality of the items being sold. I'm still able to find $4-8 shirts and shorts though so I've stayed a happy customer. There's always a wide variety of styles and I have even found outfits for work here too. I bought my boyfriend a few shirts from here and he really liked them all and wants to come in himself. The employees are always down to earth, helpful, and friendly. The only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is because I have a hard time selling my clothes here. I've given up on that end and just bring everything to goodwill now. read more

They are a total ripoff when you are selling clothes!! They give you 1/3 of 1/3 of what the item is worth! Don't bother ! Also the shoes I was trying to. Sell them they said were too worn when in fact we're practically brand new and that they had similar items in their clearance section. I'm annoyed because I go in all of the time with more than one bag of stuff that has tags on them still, things that were never worn, and name brand things. I went in tonight with clothes from Pink and Nike and Adidas. I had thrown in a few pairs of shoes and purses. They did not take any of the clothes, they took the brand new Air Max Nike sneakers (mind you they were never worn, paid $150 when bought), a Gucci bag, some belts and a wallet. For what they took, they gave me $41. What is their system of how they pay people for what they buy because this is ridiculous!! $41 for BRAND NEW AND NAME BRAND ITEMS. That is such a rip off. This is a great location! I wish I lived closer because this would definitely become a regular stop for me. Their selection is out-of-this-world and reasonably priced. They have a whole wall of strictly Frye boots and VS pink. The staff is friendly enough! The store is very large so set aside at least two hours to look through just the women's section. I scored some Jeffrey Campbell for free people boots $25, VS PINK leggings $14 and free people tunic top $12. Great location! read more
