I have nothing but positive things to say about this dj service. I was put in charge of finding a dj company-the only thing my girl wanted me to do. I researched a bunch of sites, asked coworkers and really paid attention to the socials we went to last year. Platinum Productions really stuck out to us every time. The dj's were always interactive with the crowd- not the dancing like clowns kind of interaction but the kind of microphone stuff and playing to the crowd. My wife like the way they were dressed, and it was always a good party. At our social, the dj was dressed in a suit, was really early even though the equipment was set up in afternoon and we found him so professional to deal with. He asked us right away if we wanted anything special announced for draws, did he want us to the draw or him to make it quicker and the music was perfect balance for the mixed ages at our social. We are in our early 20's but my parents sold a lot of tickets so there were also a lot of late 40 year olds there. My dad loved the dj. He said it was perfect because he pleased everyone, not just the young crowd which is why he hates going to socials anymore. To be honest, the older crowd spent the most money on silent auction tickets so we were glad they left happy. Kelly at the office as fantastic to deal with, I could email her anytime of the day and she responded within minutes which is rare in a business anymore., She was very accommodating which is why I find some of the negative reviews so random., Not my experience at all and we sat down with her twice to go over our details and both times it was very professional. We even got to meet her cool dog at the office- that was worth it alone. I would recommend this company to anybody looking for something special for a very reasonable price point. We used Leo from Platinum Productions for our MC/DJ this July for our wedding at Fort Garry Hotel. We had come recommended by our planner when a family member bailed on us for MC duties. We were hesitant at first to use a non family member for MC services so we reached out to Platinum to see if we could meet with Leo before making any decisions. We met at a local restaurant lounge where we quickly realized that Leo was the real deal. He was extremely funny, outgoing and understood exactly what we were wanting. He offered ideas that we had not even thought about doing. After that meeting, we met with Leo 3 more times to go over details and he maintained constant contact with us by phone and email to ensure he was always in the loop of the planning. He worked hand and hand with our planner to organize, and set up the entire evenings timeline so that it flowed naturally and timely. The day of our wedding, we had a last minute situation with one of our bridesmaids that caused huge drama and necessary changes to the timeline. Leo handled it professionally and made a uncomfortable situation bearable with his quick witted humour. The entire reception ran smoothly and much better than we could have ever hoped for due to Leo's attention to detail and classy demeanor. We recently had both our social & wedding with Platinum. Everything was exactly what I had hoped and expected. The office-Kelly was unbelievable to deal with. She answered all my emails within minutes, gave us great ideas and was very professional. The day of our social, the gear was set up early by a couple guys, which they said they do all the time, they never set up right before the social. The dj came at 7:20 and was ready by 7:30. His name was William and again, I cannot express how happy we were with him. He was dressed in a suit, asked us right away if there was anything we wanted to push for prizes, asked us about all the times of everything to make sure it was correct on paperwork and played completely to the crowd. We had made up a request list of 20 songs before hand and he played all of them and also played requests from our friends. The night was a great success due in huge part to the dj's attitude and ability to read our crowd. For our wedding, we could not request the same dj due to him having to attend his own family's wedding but we were assured that a similar style dj would be there. His name was Karl, and he was even better! He was interactive with the crowd, super outgoing and really seemed to enjoy his job. I have recommended this company to all of my friends and co-workers and recommend them to anybody looking for a company that will do exactly what you want them to do. I booked Platinum Productions our social in May 2014 at Dakota. We booked strongly on the fact that we had seen them at a few other events previously and they really stood out to us. Even though it was a different dj every time, they were all good times. When it came time to book ours, we were very very specific on what types of music we wanted and did not want. Kelly assured us that as long as they knew ahead of time what to expect, then they would send the style of dj that suited what we wanted (mostly top 40/rap/hiphop) We even got to make a pretty large play list ahead of time online which gave them a huge idea of specific songs we wanted. The night of the social, the dj was early, he was very personable and played every one of the songs on the list but also was able to read the crowd and realize that there were a few older guests there and he played for them as well. I would encourage you to use this company if you a company that does it as a business not as a hobby which we found a lot of our friends did which turned out to be in some cases a complete disaster. We recently had Platinum Productions for our social on Feb 22 and could not have been happier. We had a great turn out to our social and the dj kept everyone happy and dancing which can be hard with over 500 people to satisfy. He was professional in both his appearance and his personality. He was early, came and introduced himself to us immediately, and right away wanted to know if we wanted anything announced during the night. He was great with helping us push our 50/50 draw and with silent auction prizes. My mom in law loved him, who is the hardest person to please. If it was up to her, we would have hired a polka band but he was great with dealing with the older crowd in the beginning of night, played their two steps and waltzs and then took care of all my friends when they showed up. We had DJ Mike from Platinum do our social. He showed up an hour early to set up, when he was all done he asked if we needed help setting our stuff up. During the night he played a song especially for my 8 yr old nephew, announced his name and got every one up on the dance floor to cheer my little nephew on, It was absolutely awesome! He was dancing behind the system, announced our prizes constantly and was very witty and funny on the microphone. The music he played was great, everything on my please play list got played, I would definitely recommend Dj Mike to anyone! I recently attended a social last month for my niece and I have to say the company they hired to play the music was a pleasant surprise. He played to the crowd and kept the dance floor going all night. My wife and I have attended many socials as of late and found ourselves leaving early. We enjoyed that evening so much that we got his card and we have booked him for our Xmas party on December 14th. We had our social on October 4, 2014 and had nothing but a positive experience with Platinum Productions. Everything was set up on time and the DJ was super friendly. He kept the dance floor going all night, assisted with timing for the auctions and first dance and made our social memorable. We booked Platinum Productions on the recommendation of a coworker that had them at her wedding. The dj had us and all our guests dancing from the first song after our dances to the last song of the night. He played a lot of the 90's and early 2000 hits that I love. There never seemed a moment when I wanted to get off the dancefloor due to a bad song. My feet hurt so much on Sunday but it was worth it for that much fun. read more

While we wrote an initial song list, we told Paul to do whatever he felt would keep the dance floor going - and he succeeded.
