We discovered Huey because he DJed my cousin's wedding and played one of the best song lists I've heard. And he didn't disappoint. Huey made our wedding reception an absolute BLAST! For weeks afterwards, we still had guests telling us how much they loved the DJ - both for his music and his energy. Huey himself is an absolute vibe and it shows in his work! As our MC, Huey spoke both Vietnamese and English which was important to us. He did trip up a bit on the family introductions, but understandable. We had a longg list of Vietnamese names. DJ Huey has been one of the best DJs I've seen. He takes care to incorporate the bride and grooms interests and the guests preferred songs to create one seamless playlist. My boyfriend remarked that the music was smooth and fun even as we switched genres. He spoke English and Vietnamese which helped with incorporating both sides of the family in activities. Huey is legit one of our favorite vendors from our recent wedding at the Bel-Air Bay Club in Pacific Palisades, CA. He wore so many different hats on our wedding day - officiant, DJ, and MC. We were introduced by my wedding planner who worked with him previously at other weddings. I would be not surprised if he's booked for the next two years because Huey is one of the best DJ's I've seen in years. Huey was honestly (& hand down) by far the best DJ in town. 1. PROFESSIONAL. He was professional and classy from start to end. He drove from Orange County to Los Angeles to personally get to know the couple and their expectations. Plus, we were impressed on how suit up he was during our reception. Bravo. 2. FANTASTIC DJ. He absolutely knows what he's doing with mixing and playing GREAT and CLASSIC music. Plus, he is so organized with providing you a excel document for you to gather your playlist and schedule. 3. EFFECTIVE COMMUNICATOR. Our wedding was a multi-cultural wedding which he incrementally helped mediate and translate information between Italian, American & Vietnamese people. Huey is da Man! Unfortunately, I have the title of "Man of the hour" but he was definitely a close second. All the kids are exhausted the next day thanks to his amazing song selections. When we were looking for bilingual (English-Vietnamese) DJ and MC for our wedding back in April 2021, my cousin's wife recommended Huey Le. The moment after our first phone call, I and my husband knew that we want to book him even we haven't attended any event where he was MC or DJ. We had a two day wedding extravaganza (I know!) and had Platinum Peaks set for both--so we had the pleasure of working with both Robert and Huey. They were both absolutely fantastic--both with their own special appeal, while being wildly similar! I couldn't have imagined anyone else setting the tone for the wedding. Everyone had an absolutely wonderful time and everyone raved about how much fun both our weddings were. And I couldn't agree more! They're both extraordinarily fun, talented, entertaining on stage...but behind the same, they're also very helpful, thoughtful, and accommodating. We met with both Robert and Huey prior to the wedding--and not only were they incredibly warm, but they were earnest in their desire to help us figure out what we wanted and how they could serve our wedding to fulfill that dream. My husband and I are both awful at remembering who sings what, we listen to Kiis fm, and if it's catchy--we like it. Outside of that--we didn't know how to give them any direction for our wedding. But based on what they were able to decipher, they put together a hell of a night! We've been told by soooooo many people that our wedding was incredibly fun--and many asked us to do it all again :) There's no greater compliment you can pay a newlywed. I credit so much of the evenings success to these 2 men. They were sensational! I will make one additional note. The second wedding event was held at a Mon Cheri, where we had a traditional Vietnamese reception. We asked Huey to help us find a median--make the wedding exciting for our families, while giving us an environment we were comfortable with. And boy, did he deliver! Our families had an amazing time--as did our friends. He was truly able to read the crowd--which can be difficult when half the crowd wants to cha cha cha and half the crowd just wants to hear hip hop and dance. So for both nights--a sincere THANK YOU! My husband, family, friends, and I can't thank Huey enough for the amazing service he provided from day one to the wedding day. He was incredibly accommodating; even though my fiancé and I resided all the way in San Diego and Huey was in Orange County, he was happy to offer to meet us in San Diego. However, we were happy to meet him midway in Dana Point. Our first meeting with Huey covered everything from A through Z. He asked many questions to get to know us and what our vision was for every aspect of the wedding such as intro, music, games, lighting, décor, etc. Huey's execution was unparalleled and our expectations were exceeded the moment we walked into the banquet hall (Mon Amour). Huey designed a stunning canopy with a hanging chandelier, cream trim wooding around the sweet heart table stage and golden tassels on the corners of the canopy that made a huge statement and brought out the elegant and romantic garden theme wedding we dreamed of. Dream, imagine, and descriptively verbalize what you want and Huey will help you customize and whip up for you a phenomenal end product (Ie: designing entrances, canopies, sweetheart table design, uplighting, pin-lighting, draping, photo-booth)! Huey's personality is up beat and captivating, he's comedic and very entertaining. He essentially was our day of wedding reception coordinator because he kept everything moving on time/on schedule/on point/on cue and helped us put together the entire agenda for our reception. He kept the energy alive throughout the 5.5 hour reception with fun games and music that engaged our 410 guests from beginning to end; he can improvise, he knows how to read the audience and his surround sound speakers are out of this world, being of top notch quality sound and deep bass. His speakers can drop the bass down low to make the booties hit the flo'. OOOOhh-WEEEe and the crowd went wiiiiild and the room was lit! His music sets are very crafty and professionally put together. Our guests from all ages of the spectrum, kids, teens, adults, 60, 70 year olds were getting down on the floor getting their groove on, having the time of their life! The speakers and music of choice and mixes transformed the couple of last hours of the night into a vivacious night club with everyone jumping and dancing with LED sticks. We absolutely loved Huey's open-air photo booth. We were able to fit over twenty people in pictures and the photo booth came with fun props and best of all you get a digital copy of every single picture taken at the photo booth. For anyone who is looking for a bilingual (English & Vietnamese) DJ-MC, Huey is the man, he can bridge the gap (He does not have a Viet accent when speaking English by the way. He speaks English pristinely. That mattered to us because we experienced weddings where we could not understand a lick of English of other DJ-MCs because they had thick Viet accents). Our guests continually rave about how our wedding was the most memorable, festive, and fun wedding; They compliment DJ-MC Huey and have even asked for his information for other friends and family.
