We arranged a viewing of a vehicle 2 weeks ago, that was advertised to have had a full mot and was ready to drive. This car on arrival had only 1 month remaining mot after being advertised with a full mot. I did request the most recent mot to look at the advisories, but it didn't seem available. On arrival of the viewing of the car, we immediately looked underneath of the car, as it was mentioned on the previous mot's, that the rear subframe and rear suspension components were corroded, there was an oil leak and that a wheel bearing was failing. On visual inspection of the rear underneath of the car you could immediately see that the exhaust was just hanging in place, the exhaust brackets had snapped from the corrosion, meaning the exhaust wasnt secure at the rear and the corrosion underneath the car was that bad I could pick away at spots around the car. We questioned the snapped exhaust brackets and we was told it would be fine to drive, this immediately put us off this vehicle. The man on the forecourt was then back and forth conversating with others inside the office, we was told a deposit could be left for the car and they then would get the work sorted on the car and rectify it for us, this is after being told on the phone previously they didn't accept deposits, etc. This was very misleading and a poor way to conduct business. This car clearly wasn't fit for the road, and was advertised as ready to drive, which it clearly wasn't. We was told that that a faulty wheel bearing the previous before the viewing was being replaced and rectified, we don't believe this work had been carried out as excuses where made that if we were to drive the car because of the new tyre it would sound loud on that side. The recent mot that was carried out 2 weeks after are viewing proves that the wheel bearing hasn't been replaced and rectified. The oil leak was also questioned and we was told it was just excess oil residue from previous servicing, there was now no oil leaks, this later mot again proves that there was still an oil leak. The most recent mot that was carried out 3 days ago,clearly this highlights that there was no mot 2 weeks ago. The new mot states that the faulty wheel bearing, and the oil leak have not been rectified after being told these issues had been resolved. Best advise is don't be blagged by these people.

One being pretty serious and that our car was puffing out lots of white smoke. We were pretty certain that coolent had got into the engine and were going to have a hefty bill. We were desperate to get the car seen to. We usually use a garage around the corner who is very cheap, but alas we couldn't get in touch with them on the phone or in person. BUT we found Green Oval Garage just around the corner. And how happy were we! They were immediately helpful, and took our car straight in whilst we trotted back off to work. They performed a diagnostic check and inspected the smoke problem. They found the problem was actually just a small corroded pipe which they were able to put right straight away for £25! That included VAT and labour as well as them very considerately replacing our rear break light bulb which had blow the day before!!! We were so convinced that it was a more serious problem that this garage could have easily given us a large bill and us not be suspicious, but these guys are completely honest, hardworking and charge good prices and we really respect that. We were so pleased with them that we booked the car in the next week for a major service (was due its 120,000 mile one). Again we were accommodated swiftly. We chose a more advanced service what with our car having a multitude of little problems in the hope it would wipe a few out. My husband has just called to say that he's picked the car out and they performed the service perfectly but also fixed some other little problems it had but for no extra charge. Honestly, at their labour price of £35 an hour i wouldn't have minded being charged for those small jobs, its really good of them. They are so thorough and helpful, and its not often you get anything for free these days is it. AND they washed our car for free afterwards as well. Talk about service. I don't think we'll bother returning to the garage we used before (he was always quite rude anyhow), we will always return here now and will be recommending him to the office park i work on.

I don't really want to go in to specifics in the fear I will be identified just in case a warranty issue arises, but I was clearly lied too and when I brought it up they back peddled quicker than Chris Froome going forward. So the moral of this tale is be absolutely sure what your deal it's because once you walk out that door the salesman are planning there next holiday to butlins.
