Bought a car from Dace, after 4000 miles it started missfiring badly. Found the fault was that…read moretheir incompetent fitters had fitted the wrong spark plugs to the engine and this has caused the ceramic around the electrode to disintegrate and go into the combustion chambers. When viewing the car, the pre sale service was questioned because to me the oil was not fresh it was black and smelled of petrol. So the salesman came back with an invoice of parts fitted to the car and on that invoice it states they fitted whatever cheap plugs they could find because obviously the correct plugs were too expensive. So they fitted plugs that were 10mm too short, the wrong electrode material and the wrong heat range. Maybe they are trying to cut corners to pay for their loan on the fancy new showroom but either way, you don't want to buy a car that they've touched and they will also ignore you when they have touched it, and it no longer works because of what they did!

So we took the car back 30 miles to be told they couldn't hear it and monitor. Before we made it home again, the engine warning light came on in red and said engine repair needed, followed by a 2nd warning for Adblue emissions fault. We stopped immediately and called the garage who advised us to bring it back. We said we were not happy driving the car over 30 miles with warning lights on, so they collected it and drove it themselves with the warning lights on. They said our mechanic doesn't know what he's doing and the repair will only take 10 minutes, how did they know this when they didn't know there was a fault? In my opinion they knowingly sell cars with faults. We rejected the vehicle under consumer rights and tried to cancel the road tax, but i could not as AWB motors had not sent the new keeper registration document back almost 2 weeks later. So therefore i was never the registered owner of the vehicle, which is illegal. They keep hold of documentation so they can resell with the same amount of owners even when there have been several keepers It took almost 2 weeks for the refund and AWB advertised my car for sale the day after collecting the vehicle without my refund. They state 1 person has owned and driven this vehicle, which is lies!!!! Google reviews of AWB motors before you buy on other websites because reviews on their page are 5* which is absolute rubbish. There are loads with same fault as mine and 1 of them is probably my car that i was never actually the owner of. Please stay away as ive lost over £500 and got nothing to show!

We soon discovered that the heating system had a fault, and took it to their main office in Dukinfield, which turned out to be a grotty shed staffed by unkempt chavs, where the guy said "yeah, they all do it, and I don't know why", which is a patently ridiculous thing to say, especially given that when I pushed him to get it fixed it turned out to just need regassing. The courtesy car they gave me while it was being fixed was a horrible little Honda Jazz... turned out they'd just bought it in and used me as the test driver. About eight weeks later, while joining the motorway, the turbo gave out and it went into limp mode. We'd bought an extended warranty for £150, but this turned out to be completely worthless, for the following reasons: - it does not cover failures valued over £1,000 - it requires you to return the vehicle to the seller first (but AWB have no capability to recover the vehicle) - it's an RAC warranty and no other garages will touch it because they take months to pay the garage back for the work Having got the car to a garage, I asked them to do a full service on the car. The oil was pitch black. AWB hadn't even bothered to change the oil when they bought it, nor the filter, nor get the DPF recharged or replaced. These cowboys couldn't give less of a damn. I wouldn't buy a car from them if they were the last dealership on Earth.
