He made good time. He didn't chat much. We were pretty happy about that. It was early in the morning. We had just gotten off a flight from DC. Helped unload our bags at Stansted and pointed us in the right direction. We made our connection.

Really convenient train between Heathrow and Paddington station that I wish I'd known about several…read moreyears ago! I'm not sure if this is advertised a lot or that many people know of it. There's the Heathrow Express, which is advertised at the airport and station a lot more clearly than its sister the Connect. The Express goes directly from the airport to Paddington and takes roughly 15 minutes, whereas Connect stops at multiple stations, picking up people/dropping them off along the way. Follow the signs for the Express, and you'll be just about where you need to be for the Connect. The trains are clean and you're not dealing with the general crowds of the London tube, so it's a relief when you're carrying luggage and just want to sit back and relax a bit after/before a flight and during the commute. I decided to give both a try to see how they compare with each other, and I'm glad I did. The Heathrow Express is even nicer, but that's also reflected in the price tag of 22 pounds; the Connect is about half that price, but also takes about twice as long. Either way though, you'll have to drag and carry your luggage around a bit to get to the platforms, but it's not as extensive as taking the tube and carrying them around flights of stairs. If you're traveling solo, both the Express and Connect are the better financial options over hailing a cab to central London. However, if you're in a group, hailing a cab and dividing the fair could still be the most convenient and worth it.

(Being German, I'm way early anyway, so I can comfortable squeeze in that extra 15 minutes.) Both Heathrow Express and Heathrow Connect leave from Paddington Station. Yet while the former is very easy to find, the latter is less obviously advertised throughout the station. Let me tell you where to find it: Platform 12! Make sure you get the tickets before heading to the platform though - you can buy them from the normal National Rail ticket machines. Life in the fast lane - not always my preferred choice!

Booked an arrival and return pick-up, for a total of 98 British Pounds. Not bad at all for a two way ride! ( A Black Cab will cost over 100 Pounds one-way from the airport) My driver called my cell phone at pre-arranged time, upon landing at Heathrow. He greeted us at the arrival exit, with a placard with my full name on it. The driver was very courteous and helpful with our luggage to the car. Bottles of waters are available in the car. On our return trip to the airport, the assigned driver arrived at the hotel early for pick-up and gave me a call. No stress and no-frills impeccable service! Our plane was late in arriving and somehow signals got crossed and the driver was not there. After a few phone calls, we found each other. It was a quiet and uneventful ride. We have come to rely on the efficient and prompt service we have received from Twelve Transfers. We highly recommend this company. It is nice having a picture of the car and driver who would be taking us from London to Southampton. Karim was waiting for us when we left our hotel. The car was a Jaguar and was most comfortable. Karim was a very skillful driver getting us out of London in no time and on the motorway to Southampton. It was an uneventful trip. We through enjoyed our conversations with Karim on various topics. Drivers all pleasant and friendly. We took more than a dozen rides during a recent stay in Burgess Hill, and every time the cab was bang on time. Finally - every cab was perfectly clean, with no smell of a sneaky smoker. Our final trip was to Heathrow. Their normal fare is £120 - but they do charge a stiff premium on a bank holiday. Still, just being able to get a cab to Heathrow from way down in Burgess Hill is awesome!

I wanted to add to the night by having a fun and comfortable way to travel. When I looked into dozens of limo companies, most were rude, short, over-priced and or inflexible. One in particular had about 3 websites under different names but when I called they were the same company. I thought I had found a good one with A1 Limos until I decided to check their reviews and found some really awful, scary reviews and quickly decided to keep looking. I decided to use a website that would get any limo companies to contact you if they had what you wanted based on what you entered in on the site. Only 2 companies replied. Moonlight and one other. The other had a very weird and rude reply of "You're better off going to Brighton, their drinks don't cost the earth compared to London!" Or something along those lines. I found this out of order and strange, as I was not planning on going to a club or bar where drink prices would need to be an issue and my plans would not be based on drink prices anyways and Brighton was not showing The Bodyguard musical, so this was completely silly. I was not going to suddenly change all my months of planning just because of some random limo company! When Alan at Moonlight replied to me, he was polite and replied quickly. I think I sent out my request quite late in the day and he replied that night via email. He had a can-do attitude, good prices and answered all my questions when I would email him back and forth. I emailed him, called him quite a lot and he never got annoyed by my endless questions. He always replied quickly, politely and was happy with anything I requested. He even sent me pics via email of his new party bus vehicle, as they were not on the website yet, in order to help me to decide on which vehicle to choose. He was never pushy or biased and advised me politely when ever I asked for his opinion. Even though there were not any reviews of Moonlight online, because of Alan's polite and continuous help through correspondence, I had a good feeling about them and so I went with them and I was so glad I did! On the day, there was a massive traffic accident around the area of the pick up point and even though I left home 2 hours earlier than pick up time, it took me all of that 2 hours to make it in from my home to pick up point, when it should have taken me 20 minutes! It was very stressful. Alan called me when I was stuck in traffic and asked if there was any changes I would like to make to the 2nd pick up point because of the traffic, and was really understanding when I said I wanted it to stay the same, even if it meant we would be late, because I wanted to surprise the Bride to be. Alan was on time and I was late and Alan waited about 30 mins I think and when I got to him I apologised and he smiled and said it was fine and was so calm and zen! He carried on with his duties happily and calmly. The bus impressed everyone, it was clean and equipped and really fun. Alan would put the music up or down when asked and offered to stop for us to have a toilet break halfway to London. When we got to London, Alan directed us to where we had to get to and when we were ready to be picked up, I called him and he came to us within a few minutes. He was always smiling, calm and ready at the bus door when we were getting in and out. He was smartly dressed and groomed and very professional. He just seemed to enjoy what he was doing and just quietly went about his duties for us. Everyone in the party said he was lovely.
