He said we didn't need a lot of the "upsell" in the other quote. Ben showed me what he thought we needed versus not; he took a lot of pictures and sent them to me. He also added a couple of minor items to his quote at no charge. On the day, Pedro (technician, young guy, very sharp) called ahead to let me know that he and a helper (didn't get his name) were inbound. They got in and out quickly. Pedro showed me what they'd done and explained. He took lots of pictures and a couple of videos and sent them to me. Ben dropped by to check on things. I asked Pedro if Top Star also did HVAC work (our longtime guy retired). He said no but he'd send me a name. I've put them on my calendar for biennial (every two years) maintenance visits.

The technician called when he was in route, quoted me $150 depending on where the vent was located. I feel like they did an ok job, but charged me an exorbitant amount -- ended up costing a total of $487.13. They said because they had to clean top and bottom of vent. ???? From the beginning, the owner, Jorge, took the time to explain the entire process and educate me on how an HVAC duct system should work. He clearly explained the work that needed to be done and the pricing, with absolutely no high-pressure sales tactics. I interviewed five other air duct cleaning companies, and Jorge's quote was less than half of what several of the others wanted to charge. His team, Tim and George, were professional, personable, and extremely thorough. They answered all of my questions throughout the cleaning process and showed me before-and-after photos of their work. Most impressively, they discovered and repaired a huge hidden air leak and corrected several other issues as they worked their way through the duct system--all without missing a beat. The end result exceeded my expectations. It's rare to find a company that combines excellent workmanship, fair pricing, honesty, and genuine respect for its customers. I highly recommend Truetech Services, Jorge, Tim, and George to anyone looking for HVAC or air duct cleaning. You'll be hard-pressed to find a company that provides this level of service and value.
