18 months ago, I purchased a variable speed trane 20 seer unit. Warren was the individual that…read moresold and supervised the install. It was a total replacement of all components as well as reworking some of the duct work for efficiency. The purchase included 2 years of labor on the solution. Fast forward 18 month and one of the air control motors failed and needed to be replaced. The technician presented a quote for $600.. I questioned the technician on the cost of the part, really not believing this part was that expensive. I declined to have the work done. Right after he left, I removed the air control motor by unscrewing a single screw and purchased a new one for $54 delivered.. I sent the purchase invoice to the technician with a description of my disappointment in such a charge, for a part that was so inexpensive and so easy to remove and install.. remember I mentioned I recieved 2 years of labor with my purchase and therefore no labor should have been included in the cost. I asked the technician to forward my concern to the owner, Gary. It's been weeks, and I have not heard anything back from either the owner or the technician. Why can't you trust contractors these days, you have to watch them and question everything they say needs to be done.

I can't say enough good things about this company…read more Last July my ac stopped working. Nick came right out and replaced our capacitor so we didn't have to suffer long. Not quite a year later the capacitor went out again (our unit is old and needs to be replaced, so it going out again was normal wear and tear). It was two weeks shy of the original replacement so nick replaced it at no charge. Just like our first experience, he was prompt, courteous, and honest! He was transparent about what did and did not need to be replaced so I felt comfortable he was not just trying to sell us everything he could. Would absolutely recommend them to everyone and will be using them when we replace our unit since they also offer 60 months 0% payment plan or 10% cash discount.

He was always nice to me, and me being a female and not knowing too much could probably irritate your ordinary arrogant man. This is the first time I have ever wrote a review, but he deserves it! The cost was what we thought high ($750 for all units or $150 each). The tech was knowledgeable. One unit needed a new thermostat and he quoted $595 to replace it. He stated that two units had weak fan motor capacitors and recommended replacing them at costs of $218 and $185. There were other items he recommended replacement and one I agreed to because that unit had stopped operating. I declined the three items mentioned here because I believed the prices were outrageously high. The prices he quoted were for the parts as my "tune up" charge covered the labor for minor fixes. I looked up the prices for the three items: Thermostat: $75 Capacitors: $10 Each So, Roberts was going to charge me $998 for a thermostat and 2 capacitors that I can buy retail for $95 That's a X10 markup Anybody know a good AC guy in Galveston who works for a fair price?
