This left my dog a paraplegic which resulted in euthanasia. Dr. Starkey failed to disclose the injury just telling me she had to "manhandle" Kaiser and he may be sore. When Kaiser could not stand I told her directly my dog was unable to walk at least twice and upon the third time she tossed me a blanket and said use this as a sling and take him out. This Dr. sent my pet home with a broken back and allowed him to suffer for 5 days until I could get him to a neurologist that verified what had happed. Incident has been reported to the Ohio State Board of Veternarian's for a malpractice complaint. There are many good veterinarians out there, do yourself and your pet a favor and use them.

Over the past 5 years, I have experienced rudeness from the front desk and assistants. The intake lady acted like she didn't even want to touch my 5lbs dog and acted scared of her. Then, the fees are exorbitant and have only gotten more out of hand. You want to charge me $1200-$1600 for a DENTAL CLEANING AND 1 EXTRACTION?! I called multiple other vets to find that service at half the price for my specific dog. Additionally, the newest vet I saw (seems like a revolving door), while very nice, gave her a 2 week injection and a 1 week supply of pain meds for a bad tooth and the front desk proceeded to tell me the only surgeon available is an entire month out. This is in line with their other scheduling, which sometimes means a month wait for a "sick" animal. Finally, the vet tech tried to tell me that my dog needs a rabies vaccine despite having had one in June (and it's on her record). The new vet laughed at that requirement anyway, as it is not needed for a sedated procedure. The worst of it all is that when the new vet called for my dog's records, their only concern was whether she would be keeping her dental appointment in March. Completely unacceptable all around!!

They were online and listed but the website was super confusing. I decided to chance it and drove there. ...I had no idea it was inside a pet store! So basically it is located inside the Pet Supplies Plus on Alexis. You go there and if they are busy, someone will check you in. There's a few benches for folks who are waiting. My first time I waited 45 min because a few others were in front of me. The next two times I had zero wait - which was amazing. The vet techs are so incredibly friendly and kind, and the vets are great too - their main one is fantastic. I felt so welcomed by their positive energy and attention - it was a really pleasure to go there. They are great with animals, especially hyper anxious ones. Costs were good and fair. If you want all the shots needed to board a dog, it's about $240/$260 for two dogs. If you're just getting regular vaccinations it's more like $80/$90 with their wellness package per dog. Pro tip: if you have a super anxious dog who won't walk, grab a shopping cart and put them in. Worked wonders! :)

Trigger warning: pet death…read more Dr. Hyder at the Spring Meadows Banfield hospital missed a cancer diagnosis with our dog. She had gained a lot of weight in a short amount of time and Hyder said she needed a prescription dog food back in July 2020. The other vet later told me that Hyder didn't inform us the labs for the dog were very high and that was an early indicator there was something wrong :( Next: September 2020. Our dog is lethargic and nothing like her happy self. She was like this for weeks but we just thought she hated her diet (only a certain amount of food a day and a different brand). But worried there was something else...took her to the Spring Meadows pet groomer and they said her firm belly was worrisome and to get an appt ASAP. God bless them for that. Nothing at Spring Meadows for over a week but I called and got in at this Rossford location at 8AM the next day. Dr. Leopold was amazing. If your pet has terminal cancer...well, no one wants to hear that. But she was calm and compassionate and gave me all the time I needed to understand. Knowing my dog had less than a week (the tumor was huge) we brought her back in a few days later after saying our goodbyes. The vet tech and Dr. Leopold had me come in about 5pm (they close at 6 I think) and let me have as much time with her as I needed to say goodbye. I maybe took a full hour before the procedure. Then once the procedure was done, they said I could stay as long as I wanted to say goodbye. I appreciated that, being given this time yet knowing by this point they had closed. It took a long time to write this review. I miss my doggo, who I rescued from south Toledo years ago, very much. I'm grateful that Dr. Leopold and Rossford Banfield location was such a caring place.
