I was really nervous going into my appointment at Planned Parenthood in Lawndale and honestly a bit uneducated about certain areas of sexual health. From the moment I met Darlene (the sweet receptionist) Jasmine (the lovely technician) and Dr. Leslie, they all made me feel so safe, seen, and never judged. They spoke to me with patience and kindness, answered all of my questions with care, and created an environment that felt calm and welcoming. It can be intimidating walking into these kinds of appointments, but their warmth truly put me at ease. Good morning, I came to this location today because it's the closest to me and I have come in the past and it's always been a good experience. I was a little hesitant because the reviews are awful. I thought to put a positive one. I was a walk in and I was mentally prepared to be here 2-3hours since other people have appointments. I did show up when they opened to beat the heavy load of people traffic. Lol It's a Tues as well so I was greeted and helped by Laura. She was professional and not rude just assisted me. I haven't been here in years so I needed an implant removed and I thought I was long over due. Laura assisted me, by providing all the information I needed to know and guided me in my next move based on what works best for me. My implant wasn't expired so she gave me options. I then, filled out paperwork and she was still checking in other people. She seems to be working on a reasonable timeframe in my opinion. I decided to do some regular annual testing since it's been a while and I was there. I wasn't done filling in paperwork when Ayanna called my name since I was next to be seen. Again, I went in when there wasn't anybody there but around 4 ppl. She greeted me with a nice smile even if I couldn't see her since she had a mask. I felt it, she was very professional as well and made me feel comfortable talking to me while doing my blood work. She made it easy for me to feel comfortable and informed me about how I can get the results without waiting and for peace of mind. They now, have a portal that instantly tells you about your results. While I was with her, the physician Simon came in and greeted me very politely and apologized for interrupting. There was nothing to interrupt since she was there to ask me routine questions. I thought she was pleasant and sweet based on my brief interaction. She told me to come back for a pap smear check since it's time as well. Then, said goodbye gracefully. I finished up with Ayanna and she was so thoughtful she gave me a goody bag. I love kind gestures in this rude world. Honestly, I'm grateful that all these lovely ladies were professional in their fields and were patient with my needs and guided me since it's been a while. They all assisted me and I felt very thankful for their generosity towards me. I was sooo worried because of the reviews. I'm glad I disregarded them and made my own opinion about this location. I'm sure people have bad days and can be overwhelmed so go in when you have time and just be patient. Thank you all for working diligently. P.s I was done in under an hour. read more

Laura D MD. (Front desk lady) Gave me a very bad experience. She's extremely rude, kept talking over me and did not let my 10 yr old son inside with me... she told me to leave him outside? (In the hallway not even inside in the waiting lobby) Or she said she can reschedule me for some other day...she refused to let me in. As a single mom that is NOT ok and no one ever mentioned that to me on the phone when I was booking my appointment. PLAN TO SPEND 4 HOURS HERE EVEN IF YOU HAVE AN APPOINTMENT Called the 1800 number to schedule a appt. The lady asked me what time would you like we have 1pm, 1:30pm, etc open. Okay great give me the 1:30 pm. Now I'm aware that it maybe smart to arrive early due to paper work. Arrived 30 mins early and was told to wait in line to get checked in. That literally took me 30 mins. ATP im still cool. It wasnt until I heard them checking in another patient with an appt and telling them it will be a 3 hour wait even with her appt. So I go to the front desk and say hey it's 1:50 my appt was 1:30 when do you think I will be seen? The receptionist tells me that there are 8 ppl in front of me with appts. WTF????!!! So i ask well why did yall instruct me to book an appt if you knew this place wouldn't honor it? Swear to god,, she looks at me and says " the appointment is just to make sure youre seen today". WTF I just walked out. I was using my lunch break to go ot my appointment so I couldnt stay. Get yall shit together so yall can honor appts. Worst experience ever. read more

I come here to get my birth control and they always hook it up since I've been going here for years. This location is not my favorite. This location is always very slow, even with an appointment. You need to plan a few hours out of your day to come here. I did an online appointment and was told i have to come here to pick up the birth control. Even though i already had my appointment online and am only picking up, i had to wait for 45 mins. It's ridiculous. I have been to other locations and they aren't as bad. I gave them 3 stars because the staff are really nice and caring and they really try and help you. But they really need to work on the wait time. I love love this Planned Parenthood location. The last time I was here I fainted in the elevator after my IUC insertion because of my anxiety (nothing to do with the placement of my IUC). I know that sounds terrible but my experience was so positive because of all the nurses and staff that took such great care of me. Big Thank you to Vallery, Monique, Natalie and Rosa for making me feel at home during such a tough time. I've never been treated with such kindness and care in a clinic like this in my life. I have to say that this location has become my favorite and I will continue to come here from now on forward. ROSA thank you for being so thorough in your process of gathering all my medical history information. You are really on top of it! You also make me feel like my anxiety is nothing I should be ashamed of. MONIQUE thank you for helping me in the elevator. You are a life saver. I could have really injured myself had I been alone. VALLERY you are an angel and provided me with juice and crackers to help my blood sugar come back up. You constantly tried to keep communication between us in order to keep me awake and conscious.
