It's not just that he was trying to up-sell me that bothered me, it's that he did so in an insulting way, constantly noting how much work the house needed, how my family should take better care of it and basically calling us cheap. In actuality, we would have paid Paulo to paint the exterior of the house if he had spent less time insulting us and more time focusing on doing good work. He missed several spots on the ceiling, painted over the trim by mistake and didn't come back to fix it. He also took advantage. We asked him for an estimate for finishing the remaining trim and instead, he just painted us and sent us a bill. Now that he has "completed" the job, he won't respond to my requests for a receipt. Overall, it wouldn't have taken much to make me a happy customer. He just had to do the job and be nice and we would have given him much more work, but that wasn't the case.
