The parking was always absolutely awful but now they have taken away space along the side to park and posted signs that say extra parking at the bottom of the hill for a price!! I have never liked this place but that is the most off putting thing I have ever seen! Go to the one in Richmond it is much better!

I do not recommend booking this place especially for kids parties for several reasons. -the worst customer service I have encountered. If you have any problem they will tell you to contact their head office, there are is no phone number to contact the head office and you have to submit a form on their web page that they can choose not to respond to. -there is no supervision in the lazer tag room and staff do not help the kids get ready. Your child or guest could get assaulted and there is no help for them. -due to another event the lights kept on turning off and on. -the parking is horrific and it will be a huge inconvenience to your guest. After circling for 1/2 hr many of our guest had to park at the bottom of a large hill and at quite a distance. Our experience: there was a scheduling error on their part, and even though we booked the party 3 months prior to our party we got a call 3 days prior to our event saying what we booked wouldn't work. Instead of being helpful and offering solutions, they were rude, threatened to charge us $100 to cancel or change it. We had to call repeatedly as we were unable to get ahold of the head office. We then get an email with the wrong date the day before our event making us scramble to make alternative plans. Considering we spent $400 for 10 kids and a party Room, the customer service was beyond terrible.

It is at this time we where given an option to either wait for this group to show up (20-30 minutes) or come back in an hour to link up with another group who'd reserved a slot for a group of 6 or more. My two friends and I called at five minutes to the hour to let the front desk know we'd be about 5 minutes late and where told that as several other drop in groups had called ahead after we showed up that it would be a first come, first serve basis. Our group then walked over to the premise in order to figure out exactly what was going on and when we could get in to play and where greeted by the most impressive unprofessional display of attitude and disrespect I have ever had the misfortune of enduring. The employee was extremely rude, cutting us off as we tried to ask questions about booking and service policy and refused to offer even a modicum of respect towards paying customers touting the phone call made in a very busy restaurant by myself immediately prior to this engagement was grounds for her to act in this manner. I will never recommend Laser City to any of my friends or family and if you ever have the misfortune of being served by Chelsea then good luck dealing with her disrespectful attitude and unprofessional demeanor.

We called ahead by a day to find out how busy it was generally and we were told that they had an opening at 10am the next day however it should not be a problem if we came some time later. So on the day of arrival we packed the kids in the car and headed over so that they could play their first game of laser tag in their lives. When we arrived we were told that the entire day was booked and in fact you need to book weeks in advance to play on the weekend. This was not something posted on their web page nor was it explained when we phoned the day before. We were bewildered by the statement and as we attempted to understand if there were any other options. The person behind the counter obviously had no time for us and further openly mocked us as if somehow we were supposed to know the intracicies of their game scheduling. The person behind the counter became even more condescending and insulting in the face of a couple confused people asking questions to the point of triggering a retort from the mother of the children. This antagonistic behaviour was done in front of the children which leads me to believe I would not trust them supervising children in the first place. Suffice to say we were not able to continue with our interaction and had to explain to the children why they were not going to get to play laser tag that day. I have played lazer tag all over the lower mainland and never had such an unprofessional interaction with someone at one of these establishments... even when the workers were much younger than the person we dealt with.

Stuck around as my youngest was attending a birthday party this afternoon from 1-3:30…read more Cloris was my favourite staffer and go-to gal for things like an extra bin for overflow birthday presents, cups for water (and she brought me a stack which I appreciated as forward-thinking because I could leave them for the other parents in our group too), and she was extra patient with my kid when he was choosing a prize with his tickets. For the most part, I really like the systems here that made the party run fairly smoothly. Our party host staffer (didn't catch her name but she had the coolest purple shoes) was super helpful in distributing food, assisting with cake cutting, refilling pitchers, quickly cleaning up after spills and proactively dealing with cupcake leftovers being put in the fridge. Three things I'd maybe suggest could run differently: 1) have coloured wristbands assigned to party rooms so that you can tell instantly who belongs to your party group. Like at one point, we had a random little girl asking for tokens from our party host, and then a little boy just sat himself down at our party table eating food and blending in until our host mom said, "Who is this kid??" And then a minute later his mom found him! The parents thought it was hilarious. The staff also have neon shirts so maybe you can match party host to wristband colours. If this system already exists, I didn't notice and only thought of it now. 2) For bumper car passes and tokens, it would be good if birthday party kids got an allotment with their socks at the start when you sign in at the front desk. The less that parent hosts have to worry about, the better. The thing where each kid signs in and chooses hot dog or pizza is fantastic. Our host mom thought she'd have to take care of that and was relieved not to. 3) For saying goodbye and around retrieving their shoes, that could be the time and location that party hosts can give out their goodie bags. It's just a little awkward that there's no specific place to do that. I appreciated not having to sign a waiver but that's probably not the greatest for the establishment's purposes. I also appreciated not having to pay entry fee as an adult even though I was prepared to pay. But then again, encouraging parents to stay without charging them means they're okay with waiting around for their kid, being around to supervise as opposed to dropping off and leaving, and like one parent I saw, will buy food. Overall, the place seemed clean and with good air flow. The play area is large and there was a garage door open so I felt safe enough not to have to wear a mask which I really liked. The party rooms are large with high ceilings. I usually wear a mask in the classroom because of a low ceiling. It was about half full and there was lots of space for parents to gather at tables and hang out to wait for their kids. I don't know that I'd be back on my own because my oldest might feel too old for the climbing part, but the youngest had a wonderful time.

If you win a big prize, the games all do not pay out the tickets and staff only refund in tokens. So it is very rigged and only worthwhile if you want to donate to the house. Many of the games were not working and would eat more tokens and you cannot get them back unless you go through the hassle at the front desk. The younger kids would not notice these details, but I did spend $20 worth of tokens for 3 chocolate Easter eggs.
