I cannot say enough about how happy we are with Planet Kidz hosting our son's 3rd birthday party. From beginning to end everything was seamless and the kids had so much fun. We received so many compliments from our guests about how excellent the venue was. Jorge and team take care of everything and it is so great to have an stress-free day for events like this. I could not recommend Planet Kidz enough as a kids' birthday party venue. read more

The lady who cuts my son's hair is very polite and very professional. My son didn't like getting a haircut when we first started going there but he isn't fussy anymore, thanks to her calm and friendly attitude. read more

Too expensive for the service. Other places from the same chain offer more for the kid. The hairdresser was okay. read more

Had a great experience for a first haircut! The interactive LED floor game and toys kept our little one busy before it was time for the cut. Claudia was so patient and kind which put our little one at ease. Everything turned out great and we will be back! We were nervous being a first haircut but so happy we decided to come here. read more

We came here to get my son's first haircut and we had a decent experience. We called the day before and they were able to squeeze us in between two appointments. Once we got there, they sat him in a seat and started buzzing right away. They are no nonsense here. My son was crying but she started buzzing and finished the haircut within 5 minutes. I was there to help calm him down and turn up cocomelon which helped him calm down after the initial shock of the haircut. read more

TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE Just left the place to never come back. The lady called Silvia did a terrible job with my son. She cut his hair waaaaaay too short that I asked for. I showed her the photo from his last haircut (when only scissors was used) and she started to shave his hair. For one second I thought she would do only in the bottom but when I realized she had shaved more and there was nothing to do anymore. I got really upset and told her I was not happy AT ALL. She didn't care, didn't listen and wanted to keep shaving his hair. It was terrible already, so she was going to make it worse. Silvia is not kind and didn't do anything other than say: Don't feel bad Mom, it's just hair, it'll grow again. Not going to post my son's picture here because I don't want to expose him. read more

If your child is traumatized by haircuts AVOID this place at all cost! I took my son here three times. The first time he did pretty good and let them cut his hair I think it was the owner and she was good with my son. Second time was a bit more rough but we managed, but the 3rd time forget it! Not only was this stylist Rania the worst but all she kept saying was, "this is why I did not have any kids". Like seriously? Why are you working at a children's specialize salon when you don't even like kids. I beat myself up every time I think about how I let her put my hands on my son when he refused to get cut by her. She's unprofessional and should be not be cutting kids hair. This happened a few months ago and I don't like leaving bad reviews on people who work hard for their money but I had too. I just can't let another mom go through the trauma I did because this lady doesn't even like kids and works at a kids salon. read more

First I want to say how wonderful the staff is here! I wish I got the woman's name but not only was she so happy and friendly but she gave my son an amazing cut! My son is 1.5 and he hates getting his haircut. It is a miserable time all the way. However not only did he give this woman a tough time by physically trying to escape the car and running away as she was trying to put on gel but he still looks great! Usually I find a ton of uneven spots but his hair looks amazing! My son had a great time running around after! This place is wonderful. Don't hesitate to not go! I have been to every place in this area to cut my sons hair and this is it! read more

I booked an appointment through their official website and they sent me a confirmation email. My son and I were there a few minutes early, but the door was closed and no one was there. We stood next to the closed door for around 30 minutes. Another group of clients with kids came and also left. I tried to call and email them, but they were unresponsive. I was shocked to be honest, this is very unprofessional and rude. It's also funny-- In their confirmation email they warn you about no-show fees. So, I'd like to ask the owner of this place, can I charge *you* a no-show fee for failing to show up to work? read more

We had our daughters second birthday party here and I must say that the whole team of Planet-Kidz did such an amazing job. I wanted a floral tea party theme which was new, they agreed to do it and the whole team did such a great job with the decorations and set up. Everyone appreciated the whole party , the kids and adults had so much fun. The girls, host and others were very very helpful and if you just need anything, they're there to help you out. They made sure to engage everyone with the activities. The host is very friendly and engaging with kids. Overall I am very very happy with their service including their salon for haircuts and it's totally worth the money. I would definitely come back to this place and recommend Planet-Kidz to my friends. Thank you Planet-Kidz for making my daughters birthday party so special. read more

Planet Kidz - 1st bday party! - Kids Hair Salons Near Me - Jersey City, New Jersey

My daughter had her first haircut here (which was excellent) and fell in love with the LED dance floor. We booked her 4th birthday party here and to say it was incredible is an understatement! The space is perfect and the dance floor really does captivate the kids. They set up the area beautifully, laid out the food, they couldn't do enough for us. The energy they brought was what made it so special, they took care of everything and made sure the kids had the best time, with tons of games and a dance party to remember! They even drove us home with all of our gifts when our Uber driver abandoned us! Highly recommended. read more

My daughters first haircut went amazing. The hair stylist was very friendly and attentive. We definitely will be back!

Terrible experience - I called weeks in advance to setup two appts with Claudia for both my kids. First when we got there, they offered a chair that was dirty, hair all over it. Then Claudia cut my daughters hair super short, like a boy when I requested a bob. :(((. My second daughter was suppose have her haircut by Claudia also but they offered me someone else who ruined her hair as well. Cut it with no shape and super short as well. :(((. While I was waiting there, another customer had an appt whom they made wait almost a half an hour. They were double possibly tripled booked. And during COVID, they had 2-3 customer waiting inside with their kids. Just very disorganized, dirty and poorly skilled. Never going back! read more

This is a relatively new place. Beautifully done. Very spacious. Airy and very attractive for kids and moms. Clean. Probably v good for bday party. I booked an appointment for three girls. 9 7 4. Hair length shoulder or just below shoulder. It was treated as long and I was duly charged. What I didn't appreciate is not getting value. My kids didn't get a shampoo because they don't have an appropriate set up I was told. Their sink is not proper and kids will get wait as water will drain all over them. After the hair cut the lady used her finger to dry the kids hair- NO BRUSH. When I told her to curl out the hair I was told there is an EXTRA CHARGE!!!!!! J am clearly never coming back again. I don't mind paying but when one doesn't receive value for money there is a problem! read more

My son is two and has always been deathly afraid of haircuts. We usually take him to a children's hair salon in our neighborhood but he's become so fearful of the salon even when we are just walking by. Decided to book a last minute appointment at Planet Kidz with Didi, and not only does the haircut look adorable, it was his best experience yet! He was clearly still nervous, it was a haircut after all, but she was so gentle, thoughtful at establishing trust, and really took a deliberate effort at making him comfortable. The environment of the salon is also set up for children to enjoy themselves. We will definitely be coming back in the future! read more

This place is really cool. They have different seat for kids and they can enjoy cartoon while sitting in there. However, the cutting experience really depends on which hairdresser you get. The elder one can cheer up kids and she is really nice. The other younger one( darker hair) really have attitude problem. I went there couple of time, twice with her, same issue. First time, I thought maybe she had bad day. Second time, the same thing. She won't do anything if the kid is unhappy. She don't even want to look at the kid. She would just sitting aside and move her eye away and don't do anything for make child feel better. It clearly shows she just hate what is she doing. Wow, I am guessing she don't have a kid and plus she hate this job. And she won't avoid F words while taking on the phone. I mean, you are working at a kid place. If you hate this job or hate kids, why would you stay here. I checked the reviews in this place, surprised nobody is complain about this issue I will give this place and the other hairdresser 3 star, but that attitude problem lady, Negat read more

Fabulous place for a kid's birthday party! We had our 3ry old daughter's birthday here for 16 friends with a dinosaur theme and Planet Kidz did a fantastic job! We didn't have to worry about a thing. The LED light floor is a different experience and so much fun for the kids, you honestly only need a good playlist and let the kids dance and jump around! The decorations were gorgeous, food catered by Loradella's and great hosting by Planet Kidz. We put together a photo slideshow and it was so much fun. Highly recommend Planet Kidz for birthday parties!! read more

It's a descent place and the haircut was ok too however, I didn't like the lack of patience and care for children. When you are running a kids salon, you need to truly love kids and be patient as kids can take time. I took my 3 years old here and he loves cars and got excited to sit on the chair, during the haircut, the stylist was rude to my boy with her instructions in her tone and things that she would tell him ( dont move orelse you'll like an old bald man!!!! and many more) and once done, she wouldn't allow me time to take my son out, she goes (again rude) i need you to go out now as i have other customers, there was literally nobody... I rushed out of the salon feeling insulted. Never going here ever!!! read more

We go there for my son's hair cut for 4 years now. Best place in town. Highly recommend it!

Good for kid's haircut. Pretty smooth to reserve a time slot & easy on the pocket too. They have tons of fun things to keep the child busy. At the end of the service , they give out a Balloon treat which is the biggest reward for my son to get a haircut. Conveniently located in Newport , it is easily accessible from Downtown Jersey City. As a newly opened salon, it surely did not disappoint. Will definitely visit again. read more

We took our son for his second haircut ever and had a wonderful experience. The staff was great--friendly, competent, and welcoming. My son is 20monthsold and had a TERRIBLE first haircut elsewhere. Claudia at Planet Kidz did an amazing job of making sure he was comfortable and she gave him a terrific haircut. We were nervous because his first haircut had been so traumatic, but this was a great experience. we'll definitely be back. read more

It was my first time taking my 13 months old son there. I did not like the experience at all. My son started crying and the lady didn't even stop or try to play with him or make him feel comfortable there. I really tho they know how to handle kids there. But it was a totally failed. And the hair cut, ugh horrible. Didn't like the way she cut it. Would not pay again $28 for a kids hair cut. read more

Got my 2 year old daughter's hair cut done here today. Clean, bright and spacious place. My daughter sat on a cool looking miniature US army air plane seat and she loved it. The stylists was very patient and gentle with my daughter. We were expecting my daughter to cry since it was only her second hair cut, but the stylist made her very comfortable and she did not cry. Nice toy train set and virtual play floor to entertain the kids afterwards. They also gave out a balloon at the end. This will be our regular hair cut place for my daughter. read more

If I could give 0 stars I would. The hairdresser (long dark hair) ignored my explanations what kind of haircut I want for my son and he got today the worst haircut ever. His beautiful hair look nonexistent! She shaved it too short and when I told her it's not what I asked her to do she said sorry I already started and continued to shave and thing with scissors his hair. I don't know how long it will take to grow his hair back, but I literally cried when we come home read more

I booked appointments online through their website and we were booked with Sylvia. Both of my girls (ages 3 and 6) had the best time playing on the light up floor while the other had their hair cut. They loved watching tv and sitting in the cute cars for their haircuts. Sylvia gave my youngest a precious bob and the other a nice trim. I was very happy with our overall experience and will definitely be back. read more

Awful experience... it was my first time at the salon for my daughter who has beautiful thick long hair. My only request was to make it short with a bang and the master stylist messed it up all. Claudia five stars hands down I previously took my son to a children's salon in Hoboken and his hair was completely butchered , Claudia was not only patient but worked extremely well with my son despite him trying to escape and spraying water all over her , by far the best experience we have will be returning . This place is great! We took our 5 year old in for a haircut. He has very long, thick, wavy hair and some find it difficult to cut. Melissa, however, did a fantastic job! She listened to our direction, was meticulous, and checked in throughout the process to make sure we were aligned. Our son's haircut came out beautifully. We will be back! read more
