While it's nice to have a cheap membership, you get what you pay for. The obvious vacuuming was always annoying along with the number of meatheads grunting at the weight machines. I think more of the issues I have are more corporate decisions than specific to this location. Providing pizza and donut nights at a gym? Dumb. Writing "judgement free zone" all over the swag and walls? Dumber. Judgment is spelled as I just typed it. "Judgement" (with the E) is how it's spelled in the United Kingdom. Seems picky, but anyone within their marketing department's corporate chain that approved this decision doesn't deserve my money. I'm sure it was some marketing executive with a 6 figure salary and a college degree. Shame. Edit to owner's response: no, it's not correct for an AMERICAN business. Planet Fitness - Gyms Near Me - Duluth, Georgia

I first joined Planet Fitness in the months prior to Covid. I cancelled my membership during the pandemic and recently rejoined again. It was easy to learn about, join, cancel and rejoin. I wanted a deal with no sign-up fee and no commitment, so I waited for that offer and signed up. I chose the Black Card option so that I could use the massage chairs. Errr... I mean, so that I could take a friend and visit multiple locations. But really for the massage chairs (my shoulders thank you, massage chairs!). Hours are super convenient. Ample parking at this location. Never too crowded (so far!). I most often use the treadmills for an Apple + Fitness run or more leisurely walk while watching Netflix. Sometimes I go for an elliptical workout, and sometimes I opt for the 30 minute full body machine stations (love that it plans the workout for me and I don't even have to time it!). Customer service has always been great for me. Thankful for this resource that helps me stay healthy without hitting the wallet too hard! read more

I enjoy working out at PF. The men at the front desk are always nice, the females dont really speak or act like they even care to be there. Greeting the customers when they come and go doesnt take much effort & should be addressed but besides that I have no complaints about this location. read more

Unfortunately this PF has went downhill big-time. I assumed a manager or someone would come in and identify all the very obvious issues in this location but things haven't gotten better after a few months so wanted to share - - there are broken machines that have been taped up and not repaired - many of the machines have massive rips in them - many of the TVs are black/super dark because the picture tubes are going bad - multiple treadmills have issues with the control dashboard - the women's restroom is a mess. The soap dispenser is broken, the toilet paper holder in one of the stalls has been broken for months, the wall coverings are coming off the wall and instead of repairing properly they used tape to fix. - the associates never clean like at other locations. They sit up front on their phones ALL THE TIME. Attaching pics. My question is why is no one doing anything about all this? It would take someone about 5 minutes to walk around and notice all this. I remember when they first upgraded to all new equipment and remodeled a few years ago we thought this location was amazing and so lucky it was near us. I can't say that the customer service is bad because they have shown me kindness when I was there however I can definitely say from traveling around to other gyms with my black card membership a couple things stood out to me. Pros The gym seems to not be as packed as all the other Planet Fitness locations around, so that was our reason to visit this location. Cons (not here to bash a brand but I will list some things that I feel you should know prior to the drive.) No Stair Escalators No Row Machines The bathroom stalls are right next to the entrance of the bathroom. --The first thing you come to as you turn the corner are the bathroom stalls and then the urinals. That being said you are forced to walk into someone taking a healthy dump 8/10 times. (That smell catches you off guard just when you're about to take a deep breath in and it definitely kills your mood.) read more

Been coming here a lot but not as much as I should! I love this gym though, its extremely affordable and open 24 hours (except on weekends). If you are going to join this gym, be sure to get the black card membership. It sounds a little cheesy, but it's worth it when you did a strong workout and need to use the massage chair or hydro massage bed. The only thing I wish was better is the lack of aerobics space. There isn't really an area just for stretching or aerobics so you tend to have to search for a space that's free. read more

Whoever this portley guy is that worked the front desk Monday night needs to be told he is a gym Nazi! This gym is not the largest but immaculate and 24/7. It's very clean and you can even smell the odor of pinesol and bleach in the air!... Now, I consider myself a very intuitive person and as I entered the gym and got on the treadmill, the same chunky employee kept giving me awkward body language and looks. I finish my workout and am heading out the door when this control freak approaches me from behind the desk and says, "Next time you workout here you need to wear sweatpants". He has his finger pointed and is literally chastising me with an assumption as though he needed to be that blunt and direct with me! He ends it and says, "Thanks" like a smart ass.... Very condescending for a warning! I was a member here for several years, 2013-2017 and ended it to Join Lifetime! I still workout at Lifetime but got a PF membership recently and figured what the hell.... It's 24/7 and only $10 esp during Covid.... As I walked to my car I was still processing what just happened... I literally was thinking what the hell did I just do?!? I quickly thought to myself...."This guy is a freakin control freak!"... What else was there to do in that tiny ole' gym! It's super clean and the guest are working out. We are wearing mask, social distancing and cleaning up after each machine use....Even the girl with him is doing busy work so his chunky behind doesn't get up her ass.....You are now picking a fuss with what people have on!?!?! I had on Nike compression tights, a Nike compression shirt with a zip jacket over it. I have nice solid quads?!? What's the problem? I like to buy nice fitness clothes and have NEVER been told anything until now by this control freak! I'm going to go back and wear the same shorts again and if he dares says anything to me I'm going to have kind words with him and end my membership. This is ridiculous! If I cannot wear compression shorts, than some members in there should not be able to wear Fruit of the loom tank tops to workout in. Where does the line stop when you open that can?!? i visited the Duluth location to cancel my membership (Due to poor customer service). I stood at the front desk for 6 minutes before a gentleman walked pass me and went to the back to get someone to assist. She appeared less than friendly and a bit under the weather. When speaking I could barely hear her and when I mentioned it, she raised her voice louder than necessary. I've been a member since 2022 and rarely seen or interacted with anyone at the front desk. I usually just walk in without checking in. During my morning visits (5:00AM-6:00AM), I've seen a gentleman there but he's usually doing something on his cell with his back to the door..Again I just walk pass. The PF clubs are ok.... I have traveled using their clubs & most are clean, friendly & nice place yo work out & shower. Maple Grove, Fairfax VA & Arlington VA are 3 clubs they could use some customer service training. Sharon Mgr & Sherry not nice or helpful. I've been hoping to gyms since I was 18.... out of Balleys, LA, YMCA... PF is my least favorite. Their customer service needs improvement at many clubs, I used some with showers broken or not working. Massage chairs & beds not in optimal working order. Inexpensive club that has so many clubs & people a loss of 1 or 2 means nothing. My home gym Chris mngr was always friendly & helpful I appreciated him. Their methods & means just aren't what I want in my life. I need a club I'm comfortable going to, where you can reach them if there's an issue, customer service & people are a priority. Where you can work out, shower & use the gym without hassle. That's not here.... they are close to a socialistic company.... their collection of data & sharing of info as well as camera placement in these clubs is a violation. read more

I have been a member of PF for years and just recently started going back to the gym at odd hours so I could avoid the crowds, and wearing a mask the entire time, while I do both cardio and weights. I have been getting more uncomfortable as more and more people have been returning and working out right next to me without any mask at all. I was VERY HAPPY to hear that you would be requiring masks for everyone, because only about half the people in the gym were using them, and you know because the whole deadly viral pandemic thing that has been shutting down entire countries, its kind of important to wear a mask. But yesterday I went to the gym expecting to feel safer now that everyone is required to wear a mask, but even less people were wearing one, so I asked the front desk about it. I was told that the policy changed and that customers are NOT required to wear masks while working out.... WHY?? What good does that do anyone?? That is the dumbest thing I have ever heard!!!  I mean if Galen Rupp, a runner with asthma and allergies can win the 10,000 meters race while wearing a mask in a high pollen environment, then working out with one to prevent the spread of a deadly virus is nothing more than an inconvenience that should NOT be a CHOICE. https://respromasks.com/allergies/runners-with-allergies/ My mask protects you, your mask protects me... thats how this works in case you haven't heard. Do you know why surgeons in the operating room wear masks? Every place I need to go requires masks to be worn all the time, grocery stores, my workplace if I need to go in to the building. But now you, my gym, where people are actively breathing harder and sweating on things in a much closer proximity to me, DO NOT REQUIRE MASKS? Give me ONE GOOD REASON WHY, other than because people whined about it. Because honestly the people who really want to workout are still going to wear the mask and workout. IT'S NOT SAFE TO TAKE OFF OUR MASKS YET!!!  When we have this thing under control, reconsider the policy, but for the love of your fellow man and our health, REQUIRE MASKS ALL THE TIME.  And if you do not, I will be cancelling my membership because not only am I not safe in your gym but I don't want to patronize such ignorant, dangerous companies. read more

I've only been here less than a week but so far I have absolutely no complaints. I'm a bit of a beginner in the gym and I came here from being a member at Crunch. At Crunch I felt like a lot of the employees were pushing personal training packages down my throat, the gym itself was very intimidating and extremely loud, plus the effort it took me to cancel my membership was just over the top. This Planet fitness is a smaller gym which I actually like and it's never crowded even right at 5:30/6 which is usually peak hours for a gym. It's really really clean and it's not loud at all which I like. Im really glad I made the switch and I think it'll help me start my fitness journey. I do wish there was a bit more space in the weight lifting area and some more space to do exercises on mats but again it's never super crowded so I can usually work around this. read more

So it's been over a year since I've been a member of this gym and visiting another, reminded me that I really need to sit down and write a review for my current gym. Having been a member of another large gym chain with all amenities back in Chicago and have worked for them as well, I was surprised that in the south, my previous gym chain barely exists so I had to seek other options. I chose this gym because it was convenient, had the cardio equipment and weights that I seeked and was ridiculously CLEAN. I mean this gym is as clean as it gets! There's not a day goes by that when I am actually hitting the elliptical or lifting weights, one or more Planet Fitness staff members are dusting, vacuuming, or wiping down ALL machines. It's a great thing to see and even better, it encourages the club members to follow suit. I wanted to take time to type out Planet Fitness's mission statement because I love it! Here it goes: {"We at Planet Fitness are here to provide a unique environment in which anyone, and we mean anyone, can be comfortable. A diverse judgement free zone where a lasting, active lifestyle can be built. Our product is a tool; a means to an end; not a brand name or a mold maker but a tool that can be used by anyone. If you just want a clean, friendly, welcoming gym where it promotes a "judgement free" zone and you can workout amongst others trying to lead a healthier lifestyle, Planet Fitness would be your perfect gym! (This particular gym offers personal training but does not offer a pool, jacuzzi, sauna, group ex classes, a pilates studio, indoor track, racquetball/basketball courts or juicebar.) If the above are not a necessity for you when you hit the gym to "sweat bullets" then Planet Fitness would be ideal. This particular location has an amazing front desk, sales, personal training staff and general manager! Everyone here will always greet you, get to know you and advise you and support you in anyway needed if you ask for it! (So yes, they do follow the mission statement to the "T.") This gym is very basic and stark as described by other customers. The Staff is nice and responsive. I once joined this PF location four years ago. They did not offer free Wifi. I recently joined again, and they still do not offer free WIFI to its customers to stream radio and music to an iPod touch or, Apple watch. This PF gym is not situated in a rural area. The Crest at Berkeley Lake apartments complex next door has Google fiber, and so it does the Starbucks located at the end of the same block on Peachtree Industrial Blvd. I am not sure why the owner of this franchise would not see a reason to boost their business by advertising free wifi with the most up-to-date fiber internet service. read more

Being a black card member I have been to planet fitnesses all over the south east. I say this to let you know that I am more than qualified to pass my judgement on to this facility. This location is by far the absolute worst of the worse worse worst ever in the world. Everything is old. That shouldn't matter but in this case. It definitely does. Your hands are sticky and nasty after you touch the handle of anything of the machines because the grips are slipping off so the brown gunck gross glue is exposed. It is disgusting. The set up to the whole place is also just stupid. They did not think of the best way to set everything up when they set everything up. This whole place needs a make over. Don't even get me started on the bathroom. The bathroom just pisses me off. The showers need to be renovated or burned to the ground. Those are the only two options. All the other locations have gotten renovated. Why cant this location not get with the program??!! read more

Just not the best place to work out. And they aren't really offering too much to stay Covid19 free. Yeah they offer squirt bottles for sanitation but no one sanitized the squirt bottle itself. I brought some of my own equipment to use on the mats because of Corona but was a advised by the GM of the facility I could not bring a bag that holds the equipment I needed to use. Never had this issue at any other gym even Location. There's so many other gym options out there at a similar price point. Canceled my membership in January. Just discovered I'm still being charged. They make it so difficult to cancel and refuse to handle billing by phone or through the online portal. Go to a local gym and save yourself the trouble from awful business practices. (Update and some context: Talked with the folks at social@planetfitness.com. This review is based solely on my first experience of this club, after joining online and walking through the doors for the first time. I'm in my 40's and have decided after a couple of years of non-activity that I need to get moving, so I joined this club because my husband has been going here for years, and it's cheap. You can't complain about $160 per year. I have to admit that I was nervous though, having not been in a gym in a long time, so I was excited to get the following blurb from PF after I joined: "...we're sending you this email because we're excited to tell you what your first visit will be like. Shortly after you take that first glorious step through the doors of your home club, you'll get: A membership key tag A free Planet Fitness t-shirt A quick tour of the facility (hint: you're gonna love it!) The warmest welcome ever Pretty awesome, right? " UMMMM... NO!!! I walked in the doors and was ignored until I told them I was a new member. The young lady didn't even smile, asked me for my name, took a picture for their computer, handed me a white t-shirt (yes, the black ones are for the "black membership card" only), key tag, and said "If you have any questions let me know." That's it? Didn't ask me for ID, not even close to a warm welcome, and failed miserably on the tour! I took myself on a tour of the locker room (the showers could do with some cleaning), spent about 5 mins on a couple of the machines, then gave up in frustration and left. Stepped in puddles of urine in the parking lot and unknowingly, tracked it back into my brand new SUV. My daughter did as well. Not sure why but the entire parking lot smells like urine every time I go. Maybe wash it down on a regular basis? Not sure what's going on there but it's gross. read more

They just got new equipment however that's bout all I like. The staff is not very friendly, the women's restroom is always is need of towels, soap, and lucky if the toilets are not backed up. I have requested on 3different occasions to cancel my menership. I called for an email address and your employee (Jordani) was not helpful, very condescending tone and stated she didn't have an email addresss on a card. I advised I came by while you all were remodeling to cancel, I've written a mailed letter to cancel and to no avail this has not happened. The facility has mold in the showers .. is a very dry and dark environment and the staff isn't very friendly. I feared for my health using the restrooms and the way in which the machines must cleaned with a hand held spray bottle touched by everyone and a paper towel. No one should have to use such facilities when working out.nor should you be scammed into keeping a membership that you no longer want. NEVEr Join this gym .. The personal trainer Daniel Hodsdon is the only reason I belong to this gym. The gym is small and equipment is very dated with little variety. I know several other PF locations have far more to offer than this one. That being said, Daniel is a great motivator and will challenge you to do things you never thought you could do! read more

I am new to the area I am from Orlando, Fl and I transferred my membership to the Planet Fitness in Duluth (John Creek) area. I went around noon until one on Wednesday two males at the front counter. On my first visit I was surprised that the staff was not friendly, yes even with the low monthly fee, I still expect a level of civility. In my old Planet when you arrived and left they always greeted you making you feel like you were welcomed. So on my first day I was let down by the lack of courtesy of the staff. All my questions were frowned upon as if to say why are you talking to me, just how I felt. First impressions are lasting, business owners! This is my third planet fitness and I understand customer service, so it was just a little off putting at this location. read more
