I go to 3 of the locations in the area and this one the whirlpool is broken or closed more than other 2 combined. I often go here after walking in the early morning specifically to use the whirlpool. It was recently closed for 2-3 weeks for "maintenance". I called to see if open and desk said yes had opened a couple days earlier. I go in the next morning at 8am and there is a cone with a sign that says 'closed for cleaning'. At 8AM, one of the busier times?? No one in sight cleaning a thing and when I left at 8:45...sign was still there. These are not supposed to be "if we feel like opening it" amenities. read more

Nice gym!! Not sure of last reviews of 2 stars. Club is pretty clean when I go there. One of the nicer gyms in the area. Maybe something's changed but I definitely enjoy coming here. Nice friendly people. read more

I used to really enjoy coming to this location, but recently I've been disappointed by a change. The area where people used to stretch and warm up before workouts has been blocked off for personal training. Unfortunately, it's now often empty, and regular members like myself no longer have a dedicated space to warm up. I've resorted to stretching near the stairs, which isn't ideal or safe. I hope the management can reconsider how that space is allocated or find a better solution so all members can prepare properly before their workouts. read more

This is one of two LA Fitnesses we choose to be consistent at in the ATL region after trying various gyms. It's one of the most updated locations and has the largest variety of equipment for abdominal workouts. Things you should know: I. PARKING There's a large public parking lot out front. It gets packed at rush hour times so if you arrive around that time, expect to park far out and walk. Knock out your cardio for the day lol II. SERVICE They do a fairly good job at up keeping/cleaning the facility compared to other locations. I like that you can't smell the chlorine from the pool when you walk in ~ means they actually clean it. III. QUALITY There's no televisions hanging from the ceilings for the second floor cardio; however, the treadmills have individual TVs. The signal is bad & the screens have static on every channel. So, I wouldn't count on them for a quality distraction from the torture you volunteer your lungs through. They have a matted area for stretching and pilates. Not all the gyms have this so take advantage. IV. CAPACITY Busy at rush hour times. But what gym isn't? Lunch hours and weekends are less crowded. Do what works for you. read more

Unfortunately, I can't recommend this gym. Cleanliness appears to be a low priority. It's not just about the number of people--it's the behavior and hygiene of some members that make the environment uncomfortable and uninviting. Basic respect for shared equipment and personal space is often lacking, and management doesn't seem to enforce standards that would improve the experience. The locker rooms are another major issue--floors are constantly wet and slippery, making them feel unhygienic and even unsafe at times. At least in the women's area, women come in and out of the shower and/or pool area and do not properly dry themselves. Then they sit all over the benches with their wet, naked bodies. It's just not the kind of atmosphere I want to work out in. It's disgusting, tbh. read more

Future LA Fitness gym members-be aware that LA Fitness has decreased the gym hours on the weekends and close on both days at 6 PM. This is unacceptable. Some gym members have limited hours on the weekend to workout and such early closure will not allow members to workout. To be competitive with Crunch gym, LA Fitness should be open until 7 PM on the weekend. LA Fitness should consider lowering the membership rate since they have decreased the hours. Also, the gym hours are not posted on the doors to allow members to plan their workouts accordingly. read more

Mbrshp office space, smoothie bar (not open yet), four racquet ball courts, aerobic rm, spin rm w/ three rows of bikes & then the pool. The main area has weights & machines. 2d floor dedicated to cardio machines. Bathrms were clean. So, like many others I signed up a new gym membership here at the first of the year. I've got a gym in my basement but as you can imagine it doesn't get used as much because I'm not being held accountable. I was really impressed with all of their equipment in the way that it's laid out. They've got a really large locker room with lockers to keep your things in. The place was extremely crowded as this being January and there were still plenty of lockers available. They've got cardio machines from one into the other so there was plenty of room on three different machines there that I used. I finished off my work out with a swim and a shower before I headed home. To top it off. Their membership was only $40 per month and is month by month which I liked. I'm gonna give them five stars. read more

Pretty standard LA Fitness gym. I like this location because there are a good diverse mix of patrons (young, old, different race/ethnicity). It's not as intimidating as some of the other LA Fitness gyms, but then again it's Duluth, lol. The staff makes effort to provide ample disinfectant bottles for us to use. I do not take any of the group fitness classes but the weights are decent. It is not too crowded in the morning either so I do not have to wait for equipment. It is located in a shopping center adjacent to a Kroger, so that's nice. A downside is the WiFi sucks ----. read more

Gym itself is alright. Staff are okay and cleanliness is up-kept, but frankly... if you're a girl, this location is crawling with weird guys who will stare at you, approach you, etc. I show up at random hours. He represents LAFitness in the best most positive way. Thanks LAFitness for building this Palace, surviving the Pandemic and hiring quality young people like him to staff. Walt M. This LA Fitness is definitely a lot cleaner than most of the ones I've been to recently. They have plenty of the disinfected spray bottles available @ the front desk. I love how I can use the personal trainer area to do my workout since there are less people & all the equipments I needed are there as well. The mat is in good shape & isn't ripped or smelly like other locations. Overall, pretty clean gym w/ a diverse crowd. I'll def be coming here more often. (: read more

This is just like every other LA Fitness except the equipment is updated as it a bit newer than other locations. Other than that, not much has changed. The staff is so so when they're not trying to bother you with a promotion or trying to sign you up for a personal trainer. Also I would just sign for the gym online. You won't be able to get much of any deal if you are there in person trying to join. The gym can get rather busy after work from like 5-8PM. Before and after that you should be okay. Overall it's an okay gym, I'm still able to get a good workout in whenever I go and thats really all I'm looking for in a gym. Some people are a bit more picky. If you can get a decent deal I would join. It's not as expensive as other gyms like Lifetime Fitness and if you get the nationwide access you'll be able to go to any of the locations to workout, I know I've definitely taken advantage of that. read more

Everything really is shiny and new at this place. I think it's only been open for 2-3 months now? I went there once before going out of town and it still smells like concrete dust, paint, etc... My sinuses are really sensitive so I can't go back until perhaps January or February :( I couldn't use the treadmill fan because of the smell and I ended up coughing all night once I got home. No bueno. Other than that, the employees aren't friendly, imo. No one said 'Hi' or 'Bye' to me and the guy up front didn't acknowledge me as I stood there waiting for him to scan my card while he talked to a coworker. Not a great first impression. Then again the other two LA Fitness locations don't really wow me with friendliness or customer service either. What are you gonna do, right? There are monitors on every treadmill and they have basic cable so that's a huge plus. I don't normally watch tv so it's like a vacation, kind of. read more

Ordinarily, one would have to go to a welfare-run nursing home to witness the level of employee apathy and neglect you are sure to find at the LA Fitness on Peachtree industrial near Duluth Georgia. The racquetball courts are in horrible condition. No one enforces the rules and they allow people in with street shoes, weightlifting equipment, soccer balls and tennis balls hit or kicked against the walls until the paneling has become loose. Today, there was a chlorine leak from the pool into the men's showers. The fumes were noxious. It was entirely unbreathable and I am still coughing 20 minutes after brief exposure. When I told the man at the front desk, he looked at me like he thought I was a moron and said "yeah, okay." Then he returned to his conversation with the other four employees loitering at the front desk. No one made a move to even check. read more

Absolutely horrible gym. The equipment is always broken down, it is never clean in the restroom areas and the group class room. There is hair everywhere, they never clean anything. The equipment is always broken down and worn out, the sound system in the group class room is always broken and there is never any Air Conditioning and NO ONE CARES. The management is less than poor, I mean no one cares that they do not keep up the place. I have seen some of the 5 star reviews that are on here and they are instructors and workers at that location. SO BUYER BEWARE. read more

These stars are for my PT, Christine. I went through 3 different trainers before I was placed with her. I've had 3 years in and out of the spine clinic, so I needed someone who wouldn't hurt me with new routines. I've been athletic and working out since I was 13 so I know what I'm doing but Christine has changed my life! No joke...I'm in 3 months with her having very little pain in my hip, I've gained muscle mass and feeling better than I have in years. She also has been helping me get back with yoga in a way that doesn't hurt my injuries. Highly recommend her!!! Thank you Christine for changing my life for the better!! read more

My gym. Been to a few gyms over the past 30 years. Most are ran good. It seems that the common thread for most of them; Owners appear hands off and managers only last a few months. Here's a suggestion for maintaining a profitable bottom line. Listen to your members. Especially the little things/concerns and address the issues. Ex. When you have spa/ pool maintenance. Perform a follow up check to see if the work was performed. Fix broken fixtures and give members the feeling that you care. The floor mat in the men's sauna has been missing for some time. The concrete floor is in bad shape. Get the ideal? Hopefully a change will be forthcoming.. Overall a good gym that needs the employees & their supervisor to exercise their stiff muscles.. read more

Ive worked out at this gym for years and it seem like since they reopen last year of 2020 the service has been extremely poor. Ive ask managment for over a year now to please have someone check the tvs on the workout machines because many of them don't work and they just say ok and seem to not really care. I'm very frustrated at this point and considering joining another gym other than LA fitness. They are so quick to take our money but don't care rather or not their equipment is working or not just poor service. read more

I had an awful experience with this place. I came in to find out about pricing and membership deals and I made the mistake of giving the associate my phone number. I was harassed for 2 weeks with several phone calls and voice mails. I specifically told the trainer that I was shopping around and I would let him know if I wanted to pursue a membership with LA fitness, but the harassment did not stop. The last call I received I advised the trainer that I was looking into other gyms because the prices were better and I was no longer interested in LA fitness. he responded with the following : " I thought you were trying to lose weight, it doesn't seem like your trying hard enough to get that weight off if its taking you this long to make a decision on gym membership you don't seem serious about it" FIRST OF ALL YOU A**HOLE you have no idea who I am or what I've done to lose weight. In the last year I've lost over 90lbs on my OWN way before the foundation was laid down for this new "LA Fitness" so don't try to tell me I'm not serious about wanting to lose weight. I was so pissed I hung up on him called back to speak to his manager and I could her the creep in the background saying "I think this lady is mad at me or something" OF course the manager gave me a half-ass apology, the creep probably still has a job there. Anyway I've joined Planet Fitness which is down the street and a lot better value for your money. It might not be all shiny and brand new but at least the people aren't rude and there is free trainers with your membership, wellness center, and no judgement. read more

I don't know if the LA Fitness folks have read my review or something, but the staff is MUCH friendlier now, and I always see someone cleaning up the bathrooms. I am a bit put off by William W.'s account of the locker room thefts and LA Fitness' refusal to do anything about it. I am keeping an eye out! But I am happy they have improved upon the issues I pointed out before. Another thing they can work on -- getting things fixed quicker. There are two sinks in the ladies' locker room that have been "out of order" for at least a couple of weeks. And a few weeks ago, the AC in the cycle room broke down, making for some hellish cycle classes. It definitely took more than a couple of weeks to fix that, too. read more

Have I said lately how much I love shiny new things? Shoes, jewels, electronics, GYMS. This new LA Fitness finally opened in the neighborhood after many months of anticipation (and 10 pounds of new relationship weight!) and so far it doesn't disappoint. All new machines with TVs and iPod connections on all cardio equipment. A dedicated cycle room with ~60 cycles (and so far no waiting list for classes, so please don't go here!). Five racquetball courts. A group fitness room. A pool. I guess these are standard gym features, but since everything is new and sparkly it seems more exciting. At least to me. Do I need to get out more? Only downside for me so far is the limited group class schedule, since that's my main reason for being there. I need them to start offering some 5 or 6am classes during the week and I'd be gym bunny. Or at least that's what I'm telling myself right now. Now hopefully I'll be able to avoid those personal trainers on the prowl to make me sign up for ridiculously expensive personal training I won't use. Been there, done that. read more

LA Fitness - Get your cardio on!! - Gyms Near Me - Duluth, Georgia

It really seems like the people in Duluth (and Norcross, Suwannee, parts of Alpharetta, yadda yadda yadda) have really embraced this location of L.A. Fitness ... because at around 6pm ... the typical "getting off of work, work-out classes are scheduled, rush to the gym, hour", this place is "balls-to-the-wall" busy. Super-duper busy. Not to say you wont be able to move around well on the floor... that's crowded, but navigable. But the locker rooms, whoa boy, that's entirely another dimension. The locker rooms here can get crazy crowded and it can be a challenge just to find space... Besides that, Management could do a lot better to keep up with the litter left behind by the comings and goings of members. Trash cans in the locker rooms are frequently full to the top to overflowing by "evening rush" hour and the showers in particular need cleaning. Showers stalls get so much use here that they really should be cleaned e-v-e-r-y-day. (It doesn't seem like this is the policy. Maybe I'm wrong or else the patrons are just huge slobs in general.) And for the (relatively) short amount of time this location has been open, there is really a lot of rust on the shower curtain bars. There is a pool and hot tub here. Both are much smaller than the pools in the older L.A. Fitness locations. This pool could easily fit inside the pool at the Norcross location but that doesn't seem to matter to the number of people who have expatriated from the Norcross location to this shiny new one in Duluth. I have done so myself but it's mostly out of following one of L.A.F.'s best group fitness instructors from that old location to this one ("Hi Jim, great classes - Thanks!") This Duluth L.A.F is fine "for now", but if management is not on their toes about keeping the place clean then it will go downhill quickly ... as evidenced by many other older locations of this very franchise. read more

I recently joined LA fitness about 2 months ago, and so far things have been good. The first thing that you have to remember is why you join LA fitness, and there lies a fair way to write a review about it. You join LA fitness for the accessibility, convenience and classes. This isnt some posh spa or dont expect one on one treatment of some of the smaller gyms. Personally I think people expect to much from this gym especially with its price point, I mean for 20-30 bucks a month you get free classes and access to several gyms in and outside the Atlanta area. The equipment here is faily new, faily clean and the place has a pretty good layout of cardio machines, free weights and courts. The Matrix cardio machines are pretty smooth and they have docs for your Ipod or phone, and you can also bring a set of headphones if you want to listen to the tv while you run or walk. The locker rooms here are pretty clean for a gym, no carpet on the floor which is always a good thing. Cleanliness with a gym is a everyday battle and big gyms like this one can get extremly dirty from time to time, but its a gym and stuff happens, people sweat. As for trainers, I would probably stay away from most that work at LA fitness as a rul of thumb, with that being said I have seen a few good ones at the Dunwoody location. As far as trainers go it really depends on getting someone that understands what your personal goals are, and how to help you achieve them. Most of these guys look they just want to bulk everybody up,lol. Also as a side note theres a lot of asian people working out here, and I can say that because Im asian, Im new to the area and Im usually the only asian guy working out in the gym so Its really good to see, although oddly makes me feel weird sometimes, lol. read more

summary: A good gym, lots of free weights which is important to me. Parking: It's located in a big shopping plaza, but it can get packed during peak times. However it's not like you won't find parking because you will, you just might have to park more at the back and walk a little which shouldn't matter because you're here to exercise. The venue: Nothing too special here. A basic LA fitness gym. I wish they had more squat racks, but I've never been satisfied with the amount of squat racks any gym ever has. They're so versatile! If I could have my way a gym would be 80-90% all free weights and 10-20% machines, instead of the 50/50 kind of mix gym's usually have. Often the motion sensor activated sinks don't work well which is annoying, and also they are often out of paper towels in the bathrooms. Coming from Lifetime Fitness it's annoying not having towels provided but that comes with the territory. Price: I 'shopped around' for deals at different LA Fitness gyms, the best deal I found was to pay $31 a month which wasn't too bad I guess. overall experience: 4/5 read more

I have been going to this gym for the past 2 weeks and I love it. I just moved out here from California and have been with LA Fitness for the past 4-5 years. This is the cleanest LA Fitness I have ever been to. The weights are pretty much always where they are supposed to be, the bathroom is pretty clean and I love the water filtering system. On top of that this gym closes off a section of the gym solely for trainers. If they do that then why am I paying for a full price membership? Seriously people they should cut the membership price lower if they close off sections of the gym like that! The only thing good I can say about this gym is that the basketball court is big and well lit. Lastly, bunch of thieves go to this gym.
