If I could give a worse rating, I would. This is the most unfriendly business! My family and I came from out of town last Saturday to do a little shopping in the cute little town of Folsom. The parking there is very scarce, I understand that, but we were going to walk into a couple of the stores and spend some money. Upon entering the parking lot, this old man with a long white beard comes over to the driver's window shrugging his shoulders. I rolled down my window and asked "Can I help you?" he said "are you planning on shopping at our store?" I told him we were going to go in and see what they had, we are out of town people and planned on going to a couple places. He started waiving his arms and telling me that this was "customer parking only" because I guess he thought I did not have any money or something. We have a 2024 beautiful vehicle but, he thought we were white trash, apparently. He literally chased us out of the parking lot. So, needless to say, this is a most UNFRIENDLY business model! We will not be returning to their store EVER and spent our money at Fat Elephant Records. Very friendly people there!! read more

scammers! they sold me a cluster of lab grown and dyed quartz, claiming it was a quartz with chlorite inclusions. i bought it assuming it was a natural mineral. my fault for not knowing my minerals better! after i did my research and realized i was deceived, the guy (apparently the owners son) refused me a refund and kept condescending me, asking me how i could possibly know that it was artificial, and that they are experts. its very obvious when you look at photographs. id expect more integrity and honesty from a metaphysical/ spiritual shop. never shopping here again. read more

You could probably spend a hour in this store and still not see everything. I have been coming here for years to buy clothes, greeting cards and miscellaneous things. If you give them your email they send out a coupon I believe 4 times a year for 20 % off. The customer service people are hit or miss when it comes to helping the customers. I always have to stop in here when I am in Old Folsom or if my mom and I get sick and tired of shopping at the same type of stores. This is the perfect place to start or add to your spiritual stone and crystal collections, faerie and figurine collections, grab a new tarot deck (lord to pick from), posters, sound bowls, and clothing and jewelry. Sometimes, they will put clothing outside on racks as sale items. I bought two dresses for $20.00 each here that are very unique and give that cool mystical vibe that I like so much. Last night was the first time I came in here and left with nothing, but that is only because I am saving my coins for Christmas. Otherwise, I would have purchased a larger stone. I visit this store about once per month to purchase candles, Crystal's, and sage. The customer service is amazing, the saleswomen are super polite and knowledgeable, and you always seem to discover something new! I especially enjoy the loose Crystal's and stones they have, as well are bracelets and literature in what each crystal/stone provides. My only issue is the prices, you can rack up a lot very quickly. In the end, it's worth it. Love that its located near the end of the Folsom Historic district, never truly busy, and always a delight to visit. read more

This is a unique store! If you are a naturalist, or a healer, into reiki, or just have a hippie spirit this is the place to go. I first came her with a friend who wanted to show me the crystals and the sage selection. I later came back, repeatedly, to see Roxie who is one of their mediums. She was really helpful in a time that I was really seeking some guidance. Through my visit with her she helped me connect with my spirit guides, and reconnect with my grandmother whom passed. Planet Earth Rising carries crystals, jewelry, clothing, books, candles, incense, chimes, singing bowls, oracle and tarot decks, etc. - basically everything you could possibly need for your holistic wellness and spiritual needs. What's great about Planet Earth Rising was that some large crystals were way cheaper than crystals of the same size at my local metaphysical shop. I also liked that Planet Earth Rising carried obscure or uncommon items. I found, for example, ocean jasper and shungite jewelry that I haven't seen at my local store. I didn't like was how disorganized it felt inside the store. There were stones and crystal jewelry all over the place, and the store itself isn't easy to navigate especially if it's your first time at Planet Earth Rising. There were so many products that you have to really spend some time looking at everything. I didn't interact with any of the staff, so I can't comment on how good or bad customer service was. I did think it was a cool store and all, but I didn't really vibe with it. There was nothing about the store that compels me to want to return. read more

Simone loves crystals, and so do I. We ended up getting two fluorite crystal bracelets, one hematite bracelet and a pendant "cage". I really enjoy going into the back room with the himalayan salt crystals and the singing crystal bowls. If I could get one of those, it would be so great! I can spend for hours and hours because there are just so many interesting things here. I even saw rare crystals like moldavites and sunstone crystals. I've shopped here a few times over the last year & I suggest being careful with certain stones they have for sale as they look & feel like fakes. Read the other reviews about them either following you around the store or just completely disregarding you. I've been meaning to find a new crystal shop due to the bad energy & phony products but today's experience was really the last straw. While trying to make a purchase, the lady up front explained she couldnt sell me one of the stones because it was "in the wrong spot" & was actually more expensive. All the other stones in the same basket as that one were identical to it but she insisted it was a different stone & wasnt for sale. I was understanding as both the stones would be from the same family & very similar, it really wasnt a big deal for me to have it anyways. The thing that really put a bad taste in my mouth was the middle aged man that came over & introduced himself as "in charge". His egotistical attitude was very off putting & quickly escalated the situation into something negative. He came over & began mansplaining the rock to me for at least a good five minutes. I told him I'm familiar & didnt need the story telling origin of the stones, yet he continues on with his pretentious monologue. Even the woman helping me originally told him I already knew what I was talking about and he completely ignored her. My partner suggested the workers should be more careful when putting out product since that stone is much more precious & expensive than where it was put for sale & that must've really damaged his fragile male ego. He immediately said no they dont have to be careful because he buys those stones in bulk by the thousands for way less than that at which they sell them & its no money lost for him (even though they refused to sell it to us for the price it was listed at?) I explained that technically the law states they have to sell it at the price its marked so they should be more careful next time. He immediately got defensive & said "go ahead and report me to the better business bureau I'm not even registered with them." I said nothing about reporting him or demanding the sale price I was just warning because other customers may not be as understanding in the future. My partner & I decided we did not want to spend money at this store & left right after his degrading service. From my initial interaction with this man, I got nothing but bad energy & fragile ego. Before I was ready to check out I overheard him mansplaining "shockras" to younger women. Very embarrassing to see someone so pretentious explaining something they can't even pronounce correctly, chakras. Unfortunately these people have terrible energy and seem to be in the business for all the wrong reasons, to capitalize off of spirituality. I wouldn't trust the workers or most of the products they sell. Thank you to that low vibrational man for setting me on the right path out of the store. I bought my mom a reading from Roxy for Mother's Day. We showed up and told the pleasant woman at the counter that we were here for Roxy. We hear a grumble from the back saying "she's not here." The lady walks us over to Roxy who is sitting at the table in the corner. It is exactly 11:00 (our scheduled time) and she is eating her food and not making eye contact. The lady asks us if I would like a chair since there are two of us. I say sure and ask if we should sit down. Roxy scoffs " I guess you two won't even let me eat." Feeling incredibly awkward and unwelcome we start to get up and she says we can sit. My mom hands me the pillow from her chair since mine is a metal folding chair, and Roxy scolds us for moving the pillow! She tells us to make sure we put the pillow back when we're done! Jesus, lady! What is your deal? At this point I want to up and leave and not even sit for a reading because this woman is vile. This was supposed to be a pleasant outing with my mom for Mother's Day and we were treated like absolute crap. I felt so bad for my mom who was optimistic for a reading to hear from her mother, and ended up being treated so terribly. What a way to start a reading! With the absolute worst energy ever! Luckily, we were able to get out of there in 30 minutes so I didn't have to pay for a full 45, but $70 was $70 too much for that awful experience. I read many good reviews about her readings but we definitely did NOT experience anything positive from her. Save your time and money! read more

There is so much that I want to say about this store that I don't even know where to start! Please pardon me if this review is all over the place as I excitedly tell you why I love this magical shop. First, let me specify that neither myself or my husband are necessarily "into" metaphysical merchandise. I'll do my best to paint the picture for you: Knick knacks/collectibles: HUGE, diverse selection of glass figurines, pewter pieces, and much, much more. Whether you're looking for a tiny plastic Buddha or a giant glass tiger, this is the place to get it. The sections are extremely organized and separated by theme (Indian, dragons, nature, fairies, etc). Stones: Wow! Probably my favorite part of the store. A wide range. Simply beautiful. All are marked with their name and what they are used for (see pictures). They also sell pouches in various sizes and designs, perfect for stone storage. Toys: Unique gifts for kids, lots of things I've never seen before! All very educational and animal or nature related. Very nice selection of high quality puppets. Jewelry: Gorgeous stone pieces -- earrings, bracelets, rings, necklaces. Women's clothing: A pretty considerable section of unique pieces. Colorful shirts and skirts a plenty. Price wise, I was never shocked by the price tag. Nothing seemed too expensive or as if it was unfairly priced. We were able to take our time and look around at everything (and take pictures of it) without being watched and without feeling like we were bothering the employees. The associate who took care of us was very nice and made small talk as we were being rung up. I'm not sure what it was that was causing some of the other reviewers to get a bad vibe or feel unwelcome here, but we did not have that problem at all. Me giving it 2 stars is generous. I loved the Oils in the front of the store they smelled amazing I bought a few of those. And the incense where really nice. They had a great variety. Now on to the reason why I gave them 2 stars... As I walked into the store no one greeted and there was 4 people kinda standing around as I walked in. Not to mention all of them where staring at me as if I was an alien of some sort. (I was the only person of color in the store). What's really funny is 2 people literally walked in after me and they said hi to them immediately. (They where white). While I was browsing around one older lady with super blonde hair kept following me around the store asking me if I was finding everything "okay". I work in retail and I know generally when someone keeps asking you are you finding something okay that's talk for "I'm going to keep watching you" she literally! No lie, followed me from section to section of the store!! Every move I made, she made. That really bothered me. And I was the only one in the store that they where doing that to. I grabbed the oils that I wanted and the incense and went up to the register the guy at the Register was really nice so that slightly and I do mean SLIGHTLY. The lady working at the store came up to her and rudely said "Are you going to just leave that there?!?" We were both a bit shocked by her rude demeanor as she hadn't noticed the paper on the ground. Came in and browsed with my mother for a while, her not knowing much about new age-like things and me being a bit more informed. She suggested some hematite rings, and I remarked that they break pretty easily, not wanting to explain to her that that's because many people believe that when they break, it's because of negative energy. I don't like to buy such a stone because I already engage in evil eye practices and feel as though it's a more worthwhile purchase in line with my culture, and does the same thing spiritually. Meanwhile, the man at the counter remarks loudly, "That's the point.", assuming I'm uninformed or straight up stupid. I immédiately left, abandoning my intended purchase of a ring and a bracelet. This store is such a gem. Its operated by a husband wife team who have been working on their business for a long time. The wife is kind of a hag (hence the 4 stars), but the husband is *THE NICEST* guy, a very kind man who offered us a lot of tips on the correct way to use and care for the products we bought. Please go support their Mom n Pop operation! We have to support small businesses during covid. They are VERY reasonable in their pricing and knowledgeable of the products and their uses. They had a lot of beautiful products to try and decide on which to buy. We bought a lot of gifts there. They put the names and uses of their products on them, which was really awesome! Plus their store is located in Old Town Folsom, which is buried in history with all the historical buildings to prove it.
