I came in Planet Color as a disappointed walk in, coming to find an alternative from a bad experience at a nearby salon. I ended up walking out of Planet Color feeling like a million bucks! Caroline was a younger stylist but acted like a veteran when it came to listening carefully to my hair goals and boundaries! I did not want certain services in order to maintain the health of my hair, so she had limited options to get the results we wanted. She worked with me instead of pressuring me to add on damaging services. She gave me a customized cut instead of copying flat instagram trends and throwing a barrel curl over it. I only got a hair cut and toner and got exactly the results I was looking for. It felt like the cut and services were customized to my needs and face shape. The outcome so far seems durable and will last a long time before needing a touch up. Even the final cost was refreshing to see! She started at the front where everyone's hair is finest and most prone to damage - my new hair stylist, who knows what she is doing, pointed out how that is malpractice - by the time you get to the back, it needs time to process, and the front is done and being fried!!!! She also covered over color, which led to excessive breakage! That was the last straw. I had called this salon on behalf of my friend and coworker who had gotten her hair done here, and it needed to be redone, no questions asked. I am a hair stylist and had walked in to work shortly after she had gotten her hair done and was like what happened to your hair? She had gone in for an ombré, and come out looking like a hot mess. It looks like the stylist had colored about 4 inches of her outgrown and left the previous highlights untouched; and she had color transfer on her untouched hilights. It looked terrible and nothing like the picture she had showed the stylist. I tell her she needs to go back and offer to call and make the appt for her. Here's where things get dicey. I called on a Tuesday, first thing in the morning. Waited on hold, no problem. After explaining to the receptionist what had happened, the receptionist stated her hair could be fixed BUT she would have to pay for it since she wanted a different, more experienced stylist. No. That's not happening. I ask politely to speak with the manager and was told she would call me back. Thirty minutes later I did receive a call from the manager. She does offer to have it fixed, but with the same stylist. I politely decline, she tells me that typically she would have to charge If I wanted to see someone else and I again decline. She tells me she has to look at the schedule to see where they can fit her in, and she'll get back to me. Her attitude is not as friendly. I don't hear back from the salon that day. My friend doesn't receive a call from them. It was actually a third party friend who has gone with initially to get her hair done as well that receives one phone call from the original stylist stating her extensions are in and is wanting to know if she's keeping her appt for Saturday. I'm not sure why they would call the third party friend; she has nothing to do with the situation. The next day I call first thing and speak with Holly I believe who tells me she did in fact call me yesterday. Her attitude is not pleasant nor friendly. No Holly, you called a third party friend. Not anyone directly related to solving this hair problem. I speak with Holly and arrange my friends appt for that Friday. Took almost 5 days to get it sorted. She has her appt, picks up her extensions, and gets her hair fixed. Now, she sends me a pic of her hair and I think it looks great. Night and day difference from what it was. Unfortunately that was with the extensions in. When she took them out, her hair is orange. It's not exactly Iike what she wanted, but it looks much better than what she had. Instead of calling back, we troubleshoot to find a different salon to fix it. I was a manager of a salon and never in my career have I ever asked someone to pay to have their color redone. I'm thankful that they were able to do the right thing and fix it free of charge, but to suggest that she have to pay was tacky and poor business practice. Needless to say she or anyone we know will be returning. What's upsetting is that this salon seems to have good reviews. Having worked in the industry myself, I would never want to see another business fail. But after experiencing the attitudes of the employees there myself, I wouldn't recommend anyone to be treated like that. read more

Worst experience in my life. Almost a year later and I still have not even started to heal from the damages that were done. The owner showed magazines and said he had done models.I thought I only needed a touch up at the root.When he got done I was caramel with dark brown thin streaks. He said he could fix it.By the time he took off the towel I saw my MELTED hair all over apron.The roots were copper like that of a shiny penny.Then he charged me telling me he was giving me a discount or something.I was in such SHOCK!!! He said to come back in a couple days and his hair corrector can tone it down.I was charged for that too.Let alone there was no special treatment customer service wise.Not even a deep condition.I made an appt for a deep condition and they wanted to charge me for that plus they were too busy to take me. THEY JUST RUINED A PIECE OF ME!!RUDE!!! My hair was falling out and they treated me like it was my fault and my issue.Not even an apology.They have hair extension there as well.NOTHING was offered to compensate their error.A year later my hair is still falling out. Every time I brush my hair I just watch my ends fall off.Not only did I have physical damage but emotionally damaged.woman's hair is her confidence her expression and even her sexuality.It's humiliating what they did to me.And to be treated like its my problem like I did this to myself is a disgrace. My mother went in Thursday morning for an appointment and was greeted with a not so friendly welcome. She was spoken to and treated differently because she wears a headscarf. She was told to "wait" and was left alone for 30 mins with no word on the status of her appointment, so she went home. Never to receive a follow up call on what might have happened to her or if she's like to reschedule. It sucks to see your mother feel humiliated and uncomfortable. My wife is having a double mastectomy today. One of her stresses was her hair and what would happen following surgery. She has curly hair that needs product to manage. She made an appointment to have her hair blown out to help with managing post-surgery. This salon was awesome!!! They wouldn't charge her for the process and the stylist did not even want to take a tip. They discussed post-operative management and offered to help her wash her hair. I never had to tell anyone what to do with my hair before because I had trusted my previous stylist so much. I looked around in the area and decided to give Planet Color a shot. They put me with Holly and I honestly couldn't have been happier. She was so unbelievably nice, made me feel very comfortable, and did a great job with my hair. I've gone to her twice now, both times just for cuts. Even though I've never had her do anything drastic with my hair, I've seen some of her work and it is amazing.
