I had such a wonderful experience at Planet Cosmetics in the Galleria, thanks to the lovely associate Abby! I had originally stopped by Macy's, but didn't feel like walking all the way to Sephora. Then I remembered I had "find a healthy, non-toxic lipstick" on my shopping list--and that's when I discovered this gem of a store. Abby greeted me warmly and was incredibly knowledgeable. When I asked about clean, non-toxic cosmetics, she introduced me to Jane Iredale. I was honestly surprised--I had used Jane Iredale years ago, but stopped because the colors didn't show up well. But Abby showed me how much the line has improved--the pigments are richer, the variety is better, and there are more beautiful options than before. She helped me find the perfect foundation shade, walked me through lip liners, moisturizing lip colors, and helped me choose a gorgeous eye shadow palette. Her care and attention made it such a fun and uplifting shopping experience. I highly recommend visiting Planet Cosmetics at the Galleria--and definitely ask for Abby if you want thoughtful, expert help! read more

This is typically my go to place for quality long lasting hair stylers. Went here specifically for a new straightener. Was sold the special of the day which was the Ava brand. The Ava straighter has buttons positioned exactly where you hold it so my fingers kept reducing the heat setting making it unusable! They only exchange items no return. Lesson learned- no more PB for me! read more

They had an amazingly large selection of products! All of which appeared to be priced quite fairly as well, which was nice because some items can sometimes be only found in certain other beauty stores. So it was a great one stop shop! The clearance rack did not have any of their items labeled with their new prices. So I had to ask one of the employees about a few items. Overall the place was very clean, well organized and stocked. read more

I've never frequented this establishment before as I tend to buy hair products directly from a salon, online direct from the company or Sephora (was closed) as well as the occasional grocery store budget. Well, I didn't realize Planet Beauty exists and is open to everyone. They had olaplex products in stock. Since this is during covid, I didn't loiter to see what else they had but seemed to have a bunch of products which also include hard to finds like bumble and bumble products. Check out their products if in need. Service was good and quick. read more

My experience at planet beauty has always been a pleasant one! The manager Kayla is always so welcoming and kind! She is personable and professional. She always mentions any specials of the day and is very helpful when it comes to answering any of my questions about the different products. I highly recommend visiting this store if you're looking for hair products and such! read more

I was looking for the right hair leave in serum for me and my son. We both have curly hair. A beautiful lady ( I think her name is Carla) helped us to find the right product. She spend time and provided us great information. She suggested the same product that she uses for her curly hair. She made our shopping easy and efficient. So far me and my son both like the product. read more

The manager was friendly knew the product lines inside and out! Then gave me a makeover! I purchased some eyebrows which were very economical under $6 or $7 with tax! My make-up job was done quite well! I love that the product line is organic and friendly to my skin and to the environment! read more

Wow.. the girls that work at this location, at least the ones that were there today around 4pm, are complete trash. Extremely bad customer service at this store. read more

They have a new gal there by Dana, who was so unprofessional. She has this hatred look in her eyes - you can just feel it- like she's prejudice of other ethnicity shopping here. I noticed her treatment with other non Asian customers were more pleasant and genuine. I enjoyed shopping here in the years past but this trip made me very uncomfortable to be a loyal customer. I got two liters of my shampoo and conditioner and a favorite spray I use for my hair, and she acted as if I couldn't afford it. DANA needs more training on customer service! read more

Jess **** I hope this gal is valued because she's one in a million. The store was busy and she was the only person working. I needed help finding a product. Jess went above and beyond to help me. She helped everyone. Jess is very knowledgeable about the various product lines and sincerely shows she cares. What an amazing gal. read more

I'm sad I didnt come into this store sooner. I was looking for new lip gloss and the gal working Tosha was very helpful. They were having a nice sale so I bought two! read more

While I was traveling and shopping I had to make a stop into my favorite store...One of their reps... Macie Lujan... was wonderful to work with. she had excellent customer service and a deal of knowledge about products that would suit my hair and complexion. I was SOLD. Now I know that I can walk into any Planet Beauty and be treated like I am not being sold something just for it to leave the shelf. read more

I went to this location for the first time on 4th of July and I will definitely be back again. Very clean, organized store. I was getting sick of not being able to find what I wanted at Sally's Beauty, let alone trying to get one of the employees to help me, so this place left a great impact on me. Upon entering, an esthetician asked me what I needed help finding (which was a waxing kit) and she directed me to all of their waxes. Gigi is what I decided upon, since you can really never go wrong with that brand, and I checked out the store a little before paying at the register. I cannot for the life of me remember the cashier's name (probably because I was too focused on her awesome makeup) but she really made the experience. Very funny, talked to me on a personal level about the product, and between her and the esthetician the store was very welcoming. If anyone from the store reads this, your cashier with the chest/sleeve tattoos and septum ring was awesome. :) I will definitely recommend this store to anyone based off the customer service alone. I'm not a crazy fan of cosmetics, but I'd go back and see what other services they offer, since it looks like it's a doppelganger salon, too. read more

Okay, this place totally deserves an updated review. After I posted my original review on yelp, Katie from Planet Beauty got in touch with me. She went out of her way to find a hair dyer that would work for my hair type. The store doesn't typically carry this specific dyer so she had it shipped to the store specifically for me and she emailed me when it came in. I was able to exchange my blow dryer for the new one with the discount applied. When I went in, I was nervous it might be awkward but the manager Kim was friendly, and she let me test the heat and speed of the dryer and threw in a nail polish. I'm really happy the company took note of my review and they really went above and beyond to make it right. They really did a great job. Hopefully they make some internal changes about the way their exchange policy is stated and enforced. If I am at the mall, and I need something, I'll shop there. Thanks for the great customer service Katie! read more

NO CASH or CREDIT CARD REFUNDS at this store! I bought a hairbrush for $30 looked up on amazon same hairbrush cost $14.99 wow!!! Wanted to return but they don't offer refunds! Everything is very overpriced and no returns, i wanted to return couple of hours later, come on!!! read more

I consider myself a long term customer of Planet Beauty because of the variety of brands they carry and more importantly the excellent customer service continually provided by their staff, particularly Dana. Dana is always so helpful, happy, and suggests new products based on what I buy that she thinks I would benefit from. Each product she has suggested or provided me a sample with I have incorporated as a staple into my daily routine. She knows her products, she always tells me the best bang for my buck and I appreciate the service she provides. read more

Do not buy any styling products from this place. I bought a curling iron and after 29 days the coating on the barrel was chipping off. When I brought it back to the store I was told that they have a 14 day return policy. I took the mfg name and made contract with them, only to be told that it is under warranty but I have to send it back for replacement. Not only do I have the expense of shipping back a defective product, but now I am without a curling iron. As a distributor, this company should stand behind their merchandise take my iron back and replace it. They can return it to the manufacturer, and keep a customer happy. Very poor business practice, and will never shop there again. I will go to Kohl's, Target, JC Penny, anyone else that would exchange my product. read more

What I don't like about this store is that you can't return a lot of different items. No returns on Kerastase, for example, which is annoying because it's very difficult to find Kerastase products, so I have to buy them here, however, not everything from that line is worth the price. Anyway, some of the ladies who work at this location are not the most friendly, but the woman with the pink hair is incredibly sweet and helpful. I would give her 5 stars and the store itself 2 stars. read more

Never purchase anything from them. They are out to get people. Everything is overpriced and they will not refund to you, only store credit. Avoid them like hell. Buy from walmart or amazon. read more

This Salon is the best salon I get all my beauty products at. The staff is amazing they are always there to help and give you trials of anything new you like to try. I always come out of there happy and with a new cosmetics or beauty products. Its always helpful when you are need of something but don't know where to get help and make the right choice about a product. The staff is also very knowledgeable about each one of their products that their salon carries and that's a big Plus!! I absolutely love this salon an will always be coming back to get serviced with their products. read more

Bad customer service at this location. The tall curly haired employee with glasses is always rude and unhelpful. It seems like they get rid of the great employees and keep the rude lazy employees. Update your staff please. I will not be shopping here. read more

Read the return policy carefully. No cash or credit card refunds even if your dissatisfied with product. Open item gets 50%restocking fee so think hard before you purchase as they will only issue a store credit read more

Great products and service! Love it. Never been here before. I will be back to check out all the wonderful items they carry in this store.

Terrible costumer service. Two times I have walked in both had a bad experience. First time while I was explaining one of the workers what I was looking for randomly and apparently a good friend of her walked in and in the middle of a very loud hi and hug between them I just stood there with my words in my mouth being completely ignore so I had to just walk around the store looking for what I was there for. Second time, same girl come to me asked me if I needed anything and just walked by .... Didn't even let me respond. They asked you more like a protocol rather than real interest. Just need some improvement ....or lots regarding to costumer service read more

This review is for the associate who helped my husband and I today. I came into purchase an expensive product that was listed for full price in the store and cheaper online. After hearing that i had told the first associate who helped me that I was going to purchase it online because it was cheaper and went to leave when Renee came from the back after hearing that and asked a few questions about the price I was seeing online. She asked if I would be willing to wait a few moments for her to call her manager and see if she could match the price for me so I could purchase it from them. After getting the okay from her manager, I was able to purchase it in store and they even included a product that the online website included in the special. I so appreciated how helpful she was and how she went out of her way to issue exceptional customer service! I was able to leave with the product and with a great experience at Planet Beauty as well. So thank you Renee, you were awesome! So was the other associate working as well! read more

So sweet and helpful. While I know they are trying to sell stuff, Renee genuinely helped me solve a problem with my dry cuticles. The solution she found cost all of 6 dollars, and it turns out she recommended a lotion I already use to top off the recommended treatment. AND I finally found a resource for the lotion I started using years ago and have never been able to find, so I bought some. It's like Sephora, only helpful, not snobbish, and priced for humans instead of Beverly Hills housewives. read more

Love Planet Beauty! Great staff!!! They introduced me to the last product I will ever need for my frizzy-puffball hair. They told me, and sold me on Mixed Chicks products (www.mixedchicks.net). Yeah! My curs are really great now. I bought some before my trip to the U.K., then forgot it, and went searching in a Boots store for something like it, but nothing worked right. So thanks for the tip and the great selection, Planet Beauty. read more

I was just shopping at planet beauty for the first time after being a continued ulta shopper. And I had a great experience with a nice sales girl. They have the best.... Inventory, specialty products, promotions,... And last but not least excellent CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!!

I probably won't be coming back here after my experience today. So I shopped at this store when it was still located on the upper level, and passed by it at it's new location downstairs today when I was shopping. When I went to ring up my item I asked the associate if she could look me up for my membership I had signed up a long time ago seeing how I didn't have my card on hand with me that day. I'm pretty sure that's when the rudeness on her part began. She stated "we aren't sephora, we don't have membership cards". I told her I was given planet beauty card when I signed up over a year ago that gave me 20% off on my purchase and that the worker even gave me a free nail polish on my birthday for being a member. She stated that she's been working there for years and that they have never given cards or discounts or birthday freebies. At this point I was a little taken back by her tone and I was confused so to clarify I asked her if this is the same company that was located upstairs, she turned on a patronizing tone and said "yes we're the same one, I'm happy for you but we don't do that". By this turn in time I just wanted to pay for my stuff and leave and that's what I did. When I got outside I dug through my wallet to double check I wasn't being lucid and long behold I found my planet beauty membership card that stayed in bold print "20% Off VIP membership". Went back in to show her the card and all she had to say "oh that membership! Yeah we used to do those". Oh now you remember? Mind you I didn't get an apology or discount applied. Associate "MKDAN14" needs training in customer service because her attitude and treatment was not needed nor appreciated. read more

I am writing this comment regarding Erika Kearney the Stylist @ Planet Beauty Salon in Roseville, CA in the Galleria. Upon my third visit for a haircut with Erika, I discovered that I did not have my wallet to pay for her services as I left it on the kitchen counter, I felt embarressed to have walked in so I thought it best to turn around to get it. I was 10 min late. leaving 50min (just a trim). She rescheduled me for another day. The next day I received a call from a coworker on my msg machine telling me that there was a conflict and canceled my appt, She also stated that Ulta was across the street and I should schedule it there. I was very insulted and felt disrespected as a client. I could see if this had happened numerous times but it did not. I feel that in these hard times when finances are tough, paying $45 plus a tip of $5 for her one hour of service is one that I have a hard time understanding.Especially since I am unemployed.I have asked two other stylists and they both felt this was unacceptable behavior on her part-what would she have done in my shoes? Just wonder! I guess she feels that she does not need the money or client. I am a good person (altho I am in my 60's) maybe I am just too old for her! I am happy to say that I have found a wonderful and more gifted stylist than her so all is good but just DO NOT BE LATE FOR YOUR APPOINTMENT!!!!!! read more

I do not recommend shopping here. Dana Diana? (the older blonde haired female, possibly in her 40s +) has this hatred look in her eyes. She is unpleasant. Very rude and doesn't accept you to return a item, last I checked customers can return or exchange anything as many times as they desire as long as it is within 30 days. Which I was, and she didn't allow it. Now I'm stuck with these products and my money spent for nothing. Another time I thought I left my card at the store and asked her if I did and she immediately said "no." In a rude a tone and without even checking the lost and found (lucky me there was a young girl there and she checked) this monster of a woman makes me feel uncomfortable and is not helpful, she talks to me like Im a 2 year old child and lies about discounts so you could pay full price. Every time I have been in there it's like entering Hell. I suggest do not shop here, if you want to get beauty supplies go shop at ulta. They have great return policy and do refunds too. (If this company planet beauty wants to have a successful business please have Dana the 40+ y/o blonde haired female resign.) read more
