THE BEST PIERCER I'VE MET, EVER!!! Like all of you, I found Kelly through yelp and noticed he had 5.0 stars across the board with 600+ reviews. I was looking for the best piercer especially one for my baby. I called for an appointment and Kelly was unable to get me in the same day, however, he was able to get me in the next day. He requires a deposit for confirmation of booking via zelle or apple pay, which is highly convenient. He texts you a list of information to take into consideration when booking. A big one is getting your own set of earrings from a Banter, which he lists all locations for you via text message. Upon showing up to the place, it was difficult to find because maps walking directions directed us to another building. However, there was a directory that shows a map of where Plan9piercing was. He is on the second floor of building H (green building) facing over an alleyway with a flag over the ledge that says Plan9piercing. When entering the studio it was really nice, calming, and clean. We were immediately greeted by him & he got us set up with paperwork. He checked out our little one's ears before inviting us in the back. He sterilized our baby's earrings first, then had my husband sit on the chair while holding our baby. Kelly did amazing explaining the process to us beforehand, then telling my husband what to do step-by-step. I appreciated that Kelly doesn't do the restraint method and he directs us to hold our baby in the least intrusive way as possible. He was really quick with our baby's ears & super patient (even over our little one's loud cries). Her ears were looking great just after 1 week due to his aftercare suggestions! He was so great, that after 2 weeks, I came back to get my ears pierced. I texted him and he was able to get me in the same day. I previously had some helix piercings done, but removed it because it wasn't healing properly. I was kinda anxious because it was a mall gun piercing done a while ago & I wasn't sure if I could re-pierce the same area. But he reassured me my ears will heal quicker since he had to only go through scar tissue. I originally wanted 3 piercings, but I bumped it up to 5, so I could match each ear to have 6 piercings each. Kelly took his time to measure my ears & mark them while showing me in the mirror how it looked. My earring spacing was a bit off due to previous piercers, but he made it work to look as unison as possible. He explained that the way he pierced my helix was straight through & he provided even space, so my earrings wouldn't rub. He reassured me I won't have any issues this time around. He explained the aftercare throughly & was really sweet in letting us know he's available with any questions should anything arise. I told him my previous aftercare was rubbing alcohol per previous mall piercers advice, so he educated me more on why that's not the best choice & gave me NeilMed aftercare solution (thanks so much Kelly). Kelly and his piercing shop is overall amazing & such chill vibes! We brought in our toddler both visits (and he was a lil scared coming back to the shop after seeing his sister get pierced lol), but Kelly was so welcoming & loving towards him to help him feel comfortable. I didn't pierce my kids' ears when they were babies because i remember how big of a deal it was when my mom finally took me and I learned to take care of them while they healed. I also remembered the trauma of getting pierced with the gun and how it didn't go well and having to do it a 2nd time. So that was NOT an option for my kiddo. I wanted to find a piercer who does this day in and day out. Not a nurse who does this as a side hustle either. I scoured the internet - yelp, google, reddit, mom's groups, facebook for recommendations...a few shops were rated well but nothing vibed. I stumbled on reviews about Kelly. Ok - a LADY piercer - and hope she's younger and cool with kids. Well, NOPE, Kelly is a dude. Moms left and right had raved about how gentle he was and super chill and made the process really well. I mean there are a LOT of moms that's reviewed Kelly. The location is out of the way so I was mildly hesitant to schlep all this way. My daughter insisted. I texted to make sure they were open. When we got there, the door was locked because they went to the shop next door to get snacks. So if the door is locked, just text. The decor is nicely done!!! The process was quick. Brought her ID and mine, he scanned em while I filled out paperwork. The price of the piercing came with a set of earrings but she wanted to use her flat back ones. He was ok with it and sterilized them. Got her in the chair. It was clear she was super nervous. He explained to her everything he was doing, step by step, and got her consent before he pierced her. She did cry which freaked out her younger sister - she backed out of getting hers done. Later that night, she said it didn't really hurt. She just psyched herself into a frenzy. Kelly was so patient and didn't pressure her/us or anything. Process was so smooth. She didn't bleed. He gave us aftercare instructions, didn't push us to buy anything or do anything extra. I did have followup questions later and he responded quickly and told us if we had any issues to bring her in. Overall incredible experience. When you first walk in the shop it honestly has a welcoming feel to it even though it seems to be a dark almost Halloween feel. Kelly sitting at the opposite side to greet you is probably the reason why it feels very inviting. Kelly is amazing! He provides amazing customer service before, during, and after getting your piercing. I was very nervous at first to get a helix piercing, but he assured me that it wouldn't be as bad as I thought it would be. He was also very helpful in finding his location, it's a little confusing at first when you get there if you don't know the area. He is such a good piercer! I waited a little bit before making a review because I wanted to see if the piercings he gave me would heal incorrectly. I had a piercing from a shop in Cali and it didn't heal right even though I followed all the directions the piercer gave me (Kelly repierced that spot and it's perfectly fine now!). Once Kelly was done with my piercings he provided me a care card and a business card letting me know that I can text or call the number on the card if I had any questions regarding my piercings.
