I was very specific that cremains be mailed to one address and death certificates to another. Was confirmed at least 3 times by Kathy. Request for certificates took way too long to travel 50 miles to a neighboring County. When asked about the delay, Kathy followed up at first then we never heard back from her. Cremains took another few Friday's to arrive. It's been 6 weeks now and we still don't have the certificates in the right place because Kathy mailed the cremains and the certificates together and we had to turn around and re-mail the certificates to the right place. Pricing was good, but you get what you pay for in life and in death we learned.

When my Dad died, eight years ago, this Oakhurst funeral home did everything within their power to make a heartbreaking process as painless as possible. My Mom survived my Dad, but struggled with memory issues. We moved her in with us in San Jose to help her. Her care later advanced to a memory facility and, very recently, she too passed. Our policy, purchased in Oakhurst, we were assured, would be honored by a local affiliate. Unfortunately, when we I contacted the San Jose funeral home affiliated with Sierra Chapel, they dismissed the policy's mandate and did not honor the transfer. I was told that I would need to pay thousands more to accomplish what my parents had so thoughtfully laid out. Not knowing what else to do, I contacted Palm Memorial - Sierra Chapel. There I was assisted by first Lisa, and then Jack. They challenged the San Jose facility to honor our claim, and did not rest until they accomplished just that. They had nothing to gain from this, other than to help in our hour of need. I recommend Palm Memorial - Sierra Chapel without reservation. They work tirelessly and selflessly to make sure that the impossible task of putting a loved one to rest is met without any additional burden. They are kind, considerate, and upstanding. I will be forever grateful for the service they provided my family.
