Unexplained pink bandage

The doctor complained about our cats clawing and biting, which probably wouldn't have happened if we were in the room with them during the exam. Our cat came home with a bright pink bandage around her back left leg that we were not told about (if we hadn't had safety shears at home I don't know how we could have gotten it off and as there was no blood on it we don't know why it was there!)

Dr. Boyce is knowledgeable and compassionate! She shows genuine care for the animals she cares for and the pet's caregivers. Friendly, knowledgeable, caring, and professional. The best.

stool sample for new vet. Lots of blood, and at least 2 worms.

We originally tried to go through adoption, but the process is so lengthy. We even fostered some dogs but their size and temperament just didn't work out for our lifestyle. I'm glad we tried rescuing first, but it's ultimately not for everyone. A lot of people have negative thoughts about pet store shopping but Shake-A-Paw is the best. We needed a calm but active puppy, who was small in size, and fit perfectly into our 1BR apartment. Meet Ellie! A 13 week old Cavapoo from Iowa. When we saw her in the store, we just knew she was the one. The sales associate who helped us was named Bryan, and he spent so much time with us. He went over everything in detail and took us step-by-step through all of the paper work. He even walked around the store with me and helped me choose all the essentials that we would need. The whole process, from walking in the door to leaving probably took a little over an hour. It's not like you just walk in, choose a dog, and leave. You have to prove your income and they call you to verify if you're a real person and to prove that all your information is factual. All medical records and breeder information as well as parental lineage was provided to us upon purchase. We got to see where she lived prior to coming to Shake-A-Paw and what her parents looked line (as well as their medical history). It was so thorough. Bryan assured us that he would give us a call at the end of the week to see how Ellie is doing. I really appreciated his kindness and professionalism. It wasn't just like he was trying to make a quick sale. He even told us stories about his own dogs, which made him appear so knowledgeable. My advice to anyone looking for a dog is this: Buy the dog that fits best into your lifestyle, don't adopt just to adopt. If you adopt a wonderful dog that works well for you, that's amazing but typically shelter and rescue dogs come with years of trauma, neglect, or abuse. It takes a certain type of person to be able to handle that and give them the life they deserve. Ellie was the best choice for us and we're so thrilled we have her as our baby now. Thank you, Shake-A-Paw, for bringing us immense joy with our darling puppy. Update after 3 weeks of getting our girl: Ellie is as sweet as can be. People are RIDICULOUS! You're buying a PUPPY! To the one reviewer who said, "They drug the dogs. I got the world's worst Pomeranian. They just bark all day long". YEAH THAT'S WHAT DOGS DO IF YOU DON'T TRAIN THEM! As for people complaining about health issues and vet expenses, that's what you signed up for! To care for the dog, no matter what. A dog is not disposable. They are hard work. These reviews are written by irresponsible dog owners. Shake-A-Paw is a reputable place to become a pet parent. Please understand, if you purchase a puppy, you will need to invest time and money for their lifetime! You need to train it and provide entertainment for it. If you don't, that is negligent and the puppy will display poor behavior. I'm almost livid at these people making such accusations against this business. Please read the positive reviews and ignore these crazy people.

We found out a few weeks later that not only were these medications fully covered, that Dr. Weltner was listed on the Nationwide Pet insurance network! When we finally got coverage and called back later to get a refund on the money spent, they said that meds were non-refundable! We knew any "free" check-up was probably nothing special, and probably a way to get customers in the door, but didn't think we would be hard sold on anything, but they probably wanted to squeeze some $ out of us since they knew that most people whom take advantage of this "free" check-up don't come back, hence saying anything to push the deal through...the right thing to say is "I can't say what pet insurances cover or don't cover, and you should call them for specific coverage details,"...in which case we would have waited to purchase the medication a few weeks later after we signed up for pet insurance. We of course decided to take our dog to another more reputable veterinary practice, whom had a much more modernized computer system (Green Brook AH had hand-written paper receipts), and were familiar with insurance billing & submissions. Don't waste your time with the "free" wellness exam, pick a great vet through word of mouth, and start with them from the beginning!

Gave them the benefit of the doubt and continued to use them. One of my babies recently died so this past visit I only had one there - a 12 lb 10 year old Shih Tzu. She was there OVER 7 hours and came out mangled - bloody from under her chin and all the way down her belly, with raw spots on her back as well. Reached out to the owner and she remarked "Sore to hear that" and asked for pictures. I sent them - and she didn't even have the courtesy to respond. With a tip, it was $95. I then had to take her to the vet for cream and an antibiotic - another $100. It isn't about the cost - but the fact that the owner did not so much as offer an apology, an excuse, or even REPLY. If I could leave negative stars, I would.

She hit the dog very hard. I was shocked! I know dogs nip and bite groomers and that it's a hazard of the trade, but most groomers use other methods to protect themselves. For example, some will use a muzzles. Also, When I came home I discovered that my pooch had not been bathed. They just groomed her and used some perfumed powder to give the illusion that she had been washed. The conditions of the shop are atrociously unsanitary.
