The clerk was professional…read moreand pleasant, but again, I still have no idea if I will ever get my 2 weeks of family leave pay. But the real STAR is the security guard. He was so personable. He literally greeted every person. I listened to him repeat the same answers to the same questions for several hours. He wasn't rude or impatient with anyone. Some people are just really good at their jobs. I wish I would have gotten his name. He is a gem!

She appeared visibly frustrated with her role and created an uncomfortable environment for multiple visitors. Several people in the waiting area expressed concern about being called to her window, indicating this behavior is not an isolated incident. During our interaction, she failed to properly call numbers, causing individuals to miss their turn. She also claimed she had called numbers that were never announced, which contributed to confusion and unnecessary delays. Her demeanor intimidated my wife, who was already stressed and unfamiliar with the PFL process. Instead of providing guidance, the employee's behavior made the experience significantly more difficult for us and others present. This level of conduct is unacceptable in a public‑facing position, and it reflects poorly on the standards expected from EDD staff.

Employment Development Department - It's 51 in the picture but I'm on 102 calls. With no pick up, nothing. The customer service is seriously no better than the website issues.

I had to help a family member with a state application, and I'm beyond fed up with California's…read moreincompetence. Another bloated state agency raking in billions in taxpayer dollars -- including what the applicant paid in -- while delivering some of the worst customer service imaginable: endless phone tree loops, vague website instructions, and zero accountability. They simply don't care. A simple website update could fix most of this. If more documents are needed, just post a clear notification in the applicant's secure account (with 2SV). Instead, they force you into an endless cycle of calling, where every attempt ends with 'no one is available.' After days of that frustration, you're left with no choice but to drive 1.5 hours each way -- three times in the past week and a half -- just to get basic answers in person. You show up, take a number, wait, and then they call your cell from inside the office. It's absurd. The whole process is broken, wastes everyone's time and money, and traps people who have no other options. TLDR: To the people running this agency-Update your website to allow secure, detailed notifications and required document lists directly in the applicant's account. Stop forcing unnecessary drives and endless dead-end calls. Do better.

Interview: A adminstrive assitance will call you for an interview, she seemed nice but unprofessional. They wont send you a email confirmation but have you write down the address which is in Rancho Cordova. Once you get there you will fill out a paper application (even though they have you fill one out online when you apply) As your waiting you will hear the admin call potential people for interviews for the same position your applying for, super unprofessional. The 1st interview is going to be with Laura ( supervisor ) & another individual they will ask you basic interview questions such as why do you think you are qualified for this job, where did you find out about this job, do you have any student loans in collections, And then they will ask you are you interested in being a front line representative which rages from 13-16. I said yes because I thought it would be worth the experience in collections. She then explained that the student loan collection postion you can opt out of medical and use that towards your pay and instead of making 16 you could make up 20. Which I dont think is even legal? Interview: Then if they like you they will have you sit with Angelica Weller which was just promoted to GM on Wensday ( 2/7/18). She will then ask you again if you want to be a front line representative. She then will ask you if 15.00 is okay for you to start at and explain how you will make the diffrence in sales . She then will write her name and number a post note and tell YOU to call her. I got a call 2 hours after my interview saying I got the postion. HOWEVER , you wont get an offer letter. 1st Day: I get there and 4 other people are in my training class. She throws a packet of paper not stabled on the table and says read it. Which is your training Manuel but she doesn't go over with you. There is also 2 white binders with all the company policy's and rules she has you read that. Then she puts on this VERY outdated harassment video from literally the 80's and you take a test on it. The rest of the day your pretty much reading . Ms weller came in from time to time to check on us but didnt ask us if needed help. She and Lurar were constant on the floor yelling at the top of their lungs for more sale and how all of them are doing things right. She also came into the room at one point and starting talking bad about the recpitionist. She was very unprofessional as far as how she spoke about the company and how she doesn't care about the customers and their lives. The next 4 hours she had us shadow with multiple reps on the floor. ALL OF THEM SAID DO NOT TRUTH THIS PLACE, THE CHECKS BOUNCE, SOMETIMES THEY DONT PAY US, MS WELLER HARRESES US AND MAKES US FEEL BELITTLED. NOT ONLY did i hear this, everyone is my training class heard the same thing. 2nd day: No offer letter still. I agreeded to 15.00 and then after 10 days of training it would go up to 16.82. Same thing happend she wanted us remember a script by lunch. She had us once again read the packet and practice by ourselves. All of us in the training class felt uneasy about the job and started asking one another questions. They all had the same interview experience as me and also was told the same thing about pay. Right before lunch she came in to hear us practice our scripts. Of course non of us had it right because she wasn't helping. Keith one of the other people in my training class said " we looked on the review on Glassdoor and Indeed and it said that the company has had several issues with paying employees late or the checks bouncing , is that still an issue." She looked at all of us and said no. I then spoke up and asked if we get an offer letter, she said no. I knew then that this place was no what it seemed. We then all asked about the pay; are we going to be getting the 16.82 she said no , you guys are front line reps. SHe then said okay keep reading and left. Came back and said we would go to lunch. I went to lunch and realized I couldnt work for such a horrible company esp with its current employees literally telling us to run for the hills. I left lunch early and quit. I was supposed to get my check Today (2/16/18) the mail man dropped it off. My pay.... 13.82 for the hourly..... This company is horrible. Please do not apply and report them. A current employee already has gotten a lawyer. Many of the employees have walked out and because they needed a job came back. The CEO walks around but never introduces himself. Both Ms Lura and Ms Weller openly are talking bad about their employees. THEY DO NOT FOLLOW FFC regulations nor customer privacy regulations. The Pay: Also, they sau the regular front line rep will also make sales which you get on the 24th of the month but in less your there for a long time and know how the industry works you may never really make it. Agent Tanya Barrios is horrible…read more I totally agree that I owe this debt, I assumed full responsibility but their agents are rude, do not let you talk, try and talk over you, laugh and antagonize you and then hang up, put you on hold or transfer your call when they can't answer your questions. I requested a written statement of all charges and amounts owed, she lied and said they sent it already... funny, when it's the first time i'm talking to someone from their agency, they must have read my mind. Then when I quote the Federal Debt Collection Practices Act and state that she/they are in violation of the law, she yells at me then transfers the call to her superior. DO NOT let collectors harass you, even if you owe money, you have rights...
