For those who might not know, "estate agent" is similar to what Americans might call "realtor",…read morethough I don't know if these people are similarly licensed and I have no idea if there is anything like an MLS in the UK. Regardless, I needed a flat ("apartment") for a few months and Haslam's was one of the few that replied to my email. After taking my specifications (price, neighborhood, number of bedrooms, etc.), Haslam's set up an appointment for me to view two of their listed flats. The first one was nice, but it overlooked a rather busy street and I thought it would be too noisy. The second one looks out over a quiet and pretty back garden with a double door though no balcony. It has all the appliances I needed (Brits seem to like drying their clothes on a drying rack rather than an electric clothes dryer!) and a modern look and feel. Recently refurbished, it looks great and the furniture was good. I took it on the spot. Unfortunately, there's an approval process where they have to get a credit and background check, which meant another week in the hotel for me. Eventually, the paperwork came back and I met them in their office to go over the remaining details. Everything was explained well and my questions were answered, so I took possession and paid my remainder. If you're in the market for a flat, or if you have a flat and you're looking for a renter, check out Haslam's.

They had a variety of sensibly priced one bedroom flats on offer. I think the quality of accomodation is aimed at students and people on a tight budget as the flats I saw were quite run down. I viewed a number of places and the agent drove to them with us to view. They drive smart cars so not much room! They were very helpful and friendly towards us.I can recommend their services and confirm that they offer a very professional service.

We had to paint the rooms out of our own pocket. The cleaner they hired were just an average cheap cleaner as opposed to their 'professional cleaners' they were said to hire. Eurolink basically 'lied' about their issue with the landlord. This particular landlord had major problems regarding his mortgage which resulted to house being repossessed. We have found out from reliable sources that this had happened to landlord several times on multiple properties (also with eurolink). When we asked eurolink about this matter, they deny any knowledge of this. They have also said that they will no longer do business with this landlord but when we visited eurolink's website two months on, we still find property of this landlord advertised on their website. The staff at eurolink reading were very rude and unprofessional in several occasions. Excuse like 'I didn't get the memo' were commonly used and inspections have been missed by staff. For the inspections that they did decide to turn up to, they just poked their head round the front room and left. Repairs took forever so we had to contact the landlord directly. In conclusion, this agency is very poor and should be well avoided

Having bought my first house with Parkers two and a half years ago, i can vouch for them…read more They helped a lot and phoned with properties that fitted my search criteria. When I found the house I wanted, I went for 4 separate viewings to inspect the garden, the attic and twice taking my family and wife's family to get their opinions. The agency didn't bat an eyelid, even when we tramped mud from the garden up the stairs. Oops! They were quick with negociating the price with the vendor and we got a good price in the end. I went for a mortgage review with Flower independent financial adviser which seem to have an office within a lot of Parkers agencies. They offered some products but in the end I went directly to a bank as I was a bit wary of the relationship and involvement between Parkers and Flower.

Not deemed an emergency we were left without hot water for 10 days as plumber didn't come till following Wednesday and then pfaffing about with excuses of "finding parts" when it was a replacement that was being done. Implored for expedite but told no in an email so proof they refused and deemed it not emergency. Lifts in the building are always out of order. During summer and 40 degree weather we had to walk up and down 6 flights of stairs for a week in one outage. In 6 months tenancy outages were monthly ranging from 3 days to a week. When I moved out (early, had enough and paid up rent so I didn't not pay) the lift went out of order so I had to pay movers a premium and Winkworth and the building management refused to cover the excess. I rented a "luxury penthouse" 3 bedroom 3 bath that was anything but luxury itbwas a rip off. The the new hot water heater kept shutting down, no hot water again for 3 days. Told by technician there was a wiring fault and he disconnected Economy 7 saying they had to rewire but landlord refused to fix so we had no energy efficiency and our electric bills were £650 a month for 2 people residing using lights, kitchen, and fans for cooling off. This old building is nit energy efficient. To compare our new flat out electric bill is £178. Go figure. With all the issues we had (there were more but I think I made my point, Winkworth was unhelpful and unprofessional with the tenants. Happy to have you sign a lease but don't care afterwards if you are living like you're in a slum and paying for "luxury penthouse".

Eventually they claimed I had no gas when I mentioned the hobs were working. So they decided to call on Monday to see if they could send someone to take a look. It was forecasted to be -5 degress during the night and it was like that. I had to call myself an emergency service, pay it, and of course it wasn't the gas.
