Happened upon this place because it is close to my hotel. Just looking for a good place to drink some Czech beer before retiring for the night. Let's face it... anywhere with Czech beer will not disappoint a beer drinker. That said, they have Pilsner Urquell and Radegast. Average variety, but it's on tap and tastes great. The staff are pretty girls and kind to strangers. They speak English very well. This is a basic basement pub with good beer and great music. I can't speak to the cocktails, because I stuck with beer. I was impressed because of the consistent rollout of amazing music from seemingly every generation of rock and Motown after 1960 from Beatles to Marvin Gaye to The Killers and beyond. Honestly, if you're between 40 and 50 from the USA or UK it's like they hired the DJ from your high school reunion. Uncanny how the selection has the really good songs and not really any fluff. I almost can't tell if this is targeted toward American tourists, or if they simply have an appreciation for really good American music here. Some people looked like regulars who knew other parties at different tables, and even the staff. Others were speaking English and looked like tourists (like me). I'm not really a pub lingerer, but I wanted to stay in this place just to drink good beer, look at friendly pretty girls, and listen to awesome music that sounds like my iPod playlist. Oh yeah... before I left to get my computer I had three pints, which cost me about the equivalent of $6 USD. Cash only. Google says this place is open until 3am. It's just after midnight now as I write this. read more
