I was with a group of 6 friends on a Friday afternoon in Prague in October 2019. We were starving, we didn't know where to go. Luckily we took a chance and wandered into The Duplex, right in Wenceslas square about a minute walk from Muztek metro station. It was a mid-afternoon lunch so we didn't have to wait for a table, and our server was attentive and sociable. We were sat outside on the patio and there was a bit of an autumn breeze that day, so we were given blankets to bundle up with which was definitely a nice touch. There is a good selection of lunch dishes on the menu whether it be burgers, sandwiches, pasta, or salads, each of us were happy with our meals. No issues at all with the service, the food, and paying our bills considering we were a larger, impromptu group. Honestly, the view from the outside patio is so breathtaking and magical that you can't help but leave with a smile on your face. I would absolutely recommend this as a place for a mid-day lunch and a great view of the city. The best of both worlds! read more

Probably the worst experience I've had. Drinks are watered down to the point where you're not drinking alcohol anymore and it's basically water and ice. Service is terrible with only a few bartenders on 2nd floor since they shut down the 1st floor bar. I tipped very well and still didn't get any service. Glass was thrown off the vip top floor and SHATTERED all over my friend and me. We had to pick glass shards out of our hair. This happened right in front of a bartender and he did nothing to help us, and additionally, wouldn't give us two of our drinks that we paid for after he watched this happened to us... This place i great when the weather is nice and you can side outside on the roof terrace. There is a great view of the entire Wenceslas Square and the atmosphere is just amazing! They also have amazing drinks and wine, even though the place is not the cheapest. For chilled summer lunches this is, however, definitely one of my most favorite places in Prague. read more

Should have listened to the negative reviews from the start. Visiting Prague for the first time we decided to check this place out since it was so close to our hotel. It was a Wednesday night and there was hardly anyone there which was a killer on the atmosphere since it was around 11pm and we were ready to get the night started. We decide to order dinner since it was empty and we had no other nearby places nearby. Food was ok - service was VERY slow. Took about a half hour to just get a the check and there was no one even in the place. We went upstairs to see if the club had more people in it and again, dead. The killer part for me was the pricing on the drinks and the signs behind each bar. We order drinks and they charge us 200 korunas per drink + they charge you for redbull/cranberry juice/orange juice to mix your vodka with. It seemed pricey and as it turns out, they were serving us their most expensive vodka behind the counter so we opted to order another round of drinks and specify what type of vodka we wanted (which was the cheapest in town). The price this time was 220 korunas. We were confused and asked if there was a price difference between the two vodkas and they told us no. They couldn't answer why it was more even though we got better vodka and pretended they couldn't understand us. Then to top it all off it looks as though the owner of the place can't even trust the bartenders since they have a huge sign behind each bar that states "don't pay unless you get a receipt of sale" assuming they are pocketing the monies and making up prices. Avoid this place at all costs - just a bunch of 16 year olds, rude bartenders and over priced drinks and food. Hit up some other bars/clubs in the old town area like James Dean which was amazing amazing amazing and only had people our age 26-30 and their drinks were cheap. We also tried Karlovy Lazne (which I thought was also going to have a ton of underage teens and over priced drinks but to my surprise it was packed and had a good mix of different age groups and the drink prices were soooo cheap!). read more

A typical tourist place and the food isn't outstanding, would say mid range. The price are ok for what you get. They had a DJ for music and the interior we liked. You have great view from the terrace. This is a perfect place on the 5th floor for enjoying s drink in summer time. I recommend to book a table in summer on the terrace. read more

Normally we went there quite often because the terrace is just so nice! Unfortunately this will stop now! This is why: my friends and me decided to have late lunch and coffee there yesterday. First the waiter gave us a table right next to 25 drunk french guys who were screaming and doing shots all the time- this was really annoying, so we changed the table. We ordered water, coffee and some starters and started waiting. After one hour we still didn't get anything- not even the water! The tables around us, who ordered after us, already got their drinks and food. We complained three times. We waited one hour till the staff was able to bring us our water, then shortly after that the coffee. Unfortunately the coffee was the wrong kind! We complained again! No one really listened to us and even treated us as we were quite annoying. Still we are the costumers who were willing to spent a lot of money there! When the food still didn't show up after 1,5 hours we left and told the waiters. As a result they were soooo rude and even yelled at us where normally everyone would have apologized! At the door out we asked for the number of the manager. When we called him to complain about his staff and everything else which happend to us he seemed to be sorry but didn't really care. It is his loss now since he lost 3 very good costumers! It's sad that we had to make such a bad experience! read more

Pretty cool restaurant. The fact that after 22:00 it turns into a club is actually a good plus point. Was there for a brief dinner, enjoyed it a lot, good music and ambience. The WORST service I have ever received. It is like they instruct their staff to be as rude, as possible. The first time I went here the staff was horrible, but I did have a fun night so I thought I would give it another go. MISTAKE! I was refused entry to the club because I was "too cheeky"? I spoke maybe 5 words total while I interacted with the first bouncer. I continued toward the elevator when I was aggressively grabbed by a second bouncer. He never asked me to leave... he just grabbed me! I was completely confused about why I was being assaulted and demanded he released me! These men are on a fucking power trip and continually treat their customers like shit. The rudest staff in the Czech Republic. They wouldn't let me in at first because of my sweater (which they thought was a jacket) so I was forced to pay to hang it up. My buddy had a bag with him that he checked in and didn't receive his number right away. When asking about getting a new one (while not leaving his spot) the lady refused and insisted she gave him one. After just under TEN MINUTES of a simple request and denial we asked to look if it was put in the bag on accident. She brings us the bag and sure enough my buddy's return number is sitting on the hanger with the bag number. We got NO apology. The drinks are expensive and the music is trash (unless you're into that sort of thing). Would never recommend. read more

I tried to go here tonight with my friends, but they didn't let my friend in because of his sexuality and race. They said he couldn't go in because he wasn't wearing jeans, but everyone before us who had gotten in wasn't wearing jeans, either, and neither were the rest of us, and we were all fine. Then security aggressively pushed him out. Clearly about his sexual orientation and his race -- will never return here, very disappointed. Visiting Prague for the weekend and was recommended to go to this club from concierge. Drink selection was poor ( only house wine and one beer option) as well as security was extremely rude and hostile. I did not have any direct interactions with security however I witnessed security man handling customers and even young women for just having a good time. It appears that all of the security guards in the premise ether hate working here or hate customers or both. Very hostile club and I would not recommend going here. read more

This club is terrible. Went there on a Saturday in July. it was dead until after midnight but then started filling up which is OK. We had some time for drinks before it filled up but the service was terrible. Although there was supposed to be waiter service on the patio but despite trying to waive them down, no one ever came to take our order. Instead we just stood at the bar and ordered drinks. I was amazed that the bar tender didn't know how to make simple drinks (gin & tonic) so we had to tell her how. Then when it finally started filling up, it filled up with guys and few women.
