Second time I have done the Arizona Peace Trail in a PJ machine and everything went awesome. From the time you show up you know that they are a professional outfit. My can am was on a trailer and after watching the safety video we were on our way. Took 20 minutes maybe. The Peace Trail is amazing. 795 miles in 6 days and had a blast. A group of 4 of us recently rented a 4 seater UTV from PJ's. Really nice vehicles, good power. The staff is ultra friendly and very knowledgable. Great safety introduction before they turn the keys over to you. Very classy and well done business. We did a full day and let me tell you, you need a full day if renting from this location. It is a lengthy drive on paved streets into Cave Creek and all the trails. We did some trail time (which for our taste was too many whoop die doo's, we like more wash riding), then we headed into Cave Creek for lunch. All in all good experience, just need to give yourself ample time back to PJ's. read more

Amazing experience! We decided to rent a 4-seat Can-Am during a weekend trip to Scottsdale. All of the staff were so much fun to work with from the front desk to the Owner greeting us when we arrived. The trails ranged from scenic to a bit freighting so be sure to understand where you're headed before you go. The GPS app provided was critical. Our boys 10 & 13 loved it. I was surprised at how comfortable the seats were, and the in-vehicle headsets were super fun. It was absolutely worth the reasonable cost. read more

These things are no joke!! What a seamless experience for our group of 6 that rented out 3 Can-Am two seaters. These are not stock vehicles, they are amazing to drive and so much fun through the trails. We were able to take a half day and do tons of riding and even made it up to Lake Bartlett for some lunch to take a break. The communications equipment is essential to have so you can enjoy some awesome times with your co-pilot as they navigate your phone playlist for the ultimate riding feels. We rented for a half day - ended up with a flat tire and were charged the $500 'rescue fee' in addition to $300 for a new tire! I understood rescue to mean if we did something dumb like getting the vehicle stuck or driving into a wash and flooding the engine. Because of that we did not ask any further questions about what that meant. Normal wear and tear should not be the responsibility of the renter. The tire that went flat had low tread and was fairly worn compared to the new one that they put on. They ended up giving us a 'deal' for $400. That is not a deal. I can understand a fee of $100 for the time and expense to send someone out for a flat, but we ended up paying over $900 for a half day rental to pay for a tire that had been worn down over several months by multiple renters. Just really disappointed. The guy who came and helped was amazing and he did a fabulous job. But be sure to clarify all fees before you rent and get stuck spending double what you thought you might. read more

The Mountain View's were wonderful, we stopped in Cave Creek for a burger and spent most of our day exploring! Highly highly recommend PJs! We rented the 4 door as well as three two doors for a bachelor trip and had an incredible time. The vehicles were in perfect condition, ran perfectly, and were seriously top of the line. Our only complaint is that the drive from PJs to the trails was closer to 35-40 minutes than the 20 or so we were expecting. We covered two full days of riding the best desert terrain you could ask for, led by PJ - an offroad legend! Totally loved each and every minute we had with a full day rental (highly recommend the full day rental) as a half day just isn't enough for that much fun... I did a Google search for an off road car rental in the Scottsdale area as we were vacationing there. PJ's seemed like the best cars because of the extra upgrades they do to the cars and they buy the best models available. Check in was fast easy and we were on the way. They drove really well and were very fast and handled great. Their shop was a full race shop which was cool to tour and see them working on the race cars! Very friendly staff. We weren't familiar with the Can Am, so he went over every button on the inside and explained everything we needed to know on the outside. JT shared his personal advice on the trails and set us up for success. We left feeling comfortable going on the trails here for the first time. We rented it for the day. We reserved the 2-seaters but they weren't available when we arrived. They only had 4-seaters available for us instead. They said the group that went out in the morning hadn't come back yet and we'd have to wait an hour. They did kindly offer us the 4-seaters at the 2-seater rate. I guess beware reserving in the afternoon as you might not get the vehicle you wanted. We had called a couple of hours before we arrived since it was raining in Scottsdale and they said there was no rain happening at their shop. It was pouring when we arrived. Not sure if they would have charged us for canceling even though our reserved 2-seaters weren't available. The headset radios did not work well. They said it was because of the rain. The vehicles are super fun on the trails. But for the price charged, disappointed the experience wasn't a little better. read more

Don't go here! Worst experience of my life. Was told Dune buggies we were given were "brand new" and 45 min into the trip the wheel fell off. Three weeks later had a $6500 charge on my credit card for fees from PJs. Found out it's their way of getting around having renters insurance on their vehicles...sounds legal to me. So if you want to sign your life away and cancel your wedding because of it then PJs is the place for you! read more

We did a full day rental (8 hrs) and arrived to their new location early only to be told we had to go to the old location since nothing was set up (it would've been nice to recieve a call or email advising to go to the old location the day before) and when we arrived we were given a vehicle with less than a half a tank of gas which we didn't realize until we were a few hours into our time so we had to cut the trip 2 and a half hours short or we would've been stranded since there was no signal in the area we were. We drove back to the old location only for no one to be there (we were not instructed to go to one shop or the other once we were done) so we left the rental at that shop, drove to the new one to let them know what we went through only for the owner of the company to give us $20 for gas (it was $37 to fill the tank) and offer $60-$80 off the next time we rent and they would email us that offer (it's been almost a month with no email). This was the second time we've used this place and it will be the last. read more
