Second chance with PJ's, same crappy drinks Former coffee shop and specialty tea shop barista here. I swung by this location with my fiancé after lunch with the hopes that we'd have a better experience here than we did at the first location we tried. The café itself was incredibly warm when we walked in, almost uncomfortably so, and was decorated in only one corner of the dining area with Mardi Gras streamers. It looked like one barista was working solo, but the place was clean and our order came out relatively quickly considering the customers coming in and out of the shop or coming through the drive thru in regular intervals. We ordered an Iced Strawberry Matcha with Almond Milk, and a regular Iced Matcha Latte. They were both incredibly grassy and the almond milk in mine seemed to make the drink even worse. While my fiancé's had a hint of smoothness to it with the 2% milk, mine had a sour bitterness which unfortunately enhanced the grassiness. I'm also convinced the strawberry part of my Strawberry Matcha was left out entirely. There was no taste of strawberry in the slightest, and not even the cold foam or crappy chalky sprinkles on top tasted of it. I did not bother forcing myself to finish my drink. If it wasn't for the fact that we've attempted matcha at another PJ's before, I probably would have written this experience off as barista inexperience. As that's not the case, however, PJ's: If you won't train your baristas to make a drink properly, it shouldn't be on your menu. You do not get a pass just because you specialize only in coffee. I went in on this cold overcast day and this was perfect . I ordered the bananas foster with espresso . So dang good! The barista was very friendly and offered me other dairy options because I always forget . The drink is so good and not overly sweet. I wish there was a location closer to Schertz . But I am happy I stopped in. The store is clean but a little too cold on this cold morning. But the coffee helped with that. read more

Olur book club had our meeting here on a Saturday. There's tables and one couch area you can sit on to drink your beverage. They have inside seating and a drive-through. There was one girl manning both the drive-through and the inside. She did a great job. I wish I would've gotten her name. I tried their seasonal Kings cake latte. I liked it. It wasn't too sweet. They do have different options for coffee and they also have tea. Due to the season, they had beignets. I had them. I will say they were a little overdone. The place is quiet enough to study or have a conversation.There's parking available on site, but it is shared with the other businesses. They also sell breakfast sandwiches and pastries. read more

This is a hometown favorite for me. I'm never in the area but had an appointment on this side of town. I ordered the wedding cake coffee hot of course. It did not disappoint. I love New Orleans wedding cake. If you have never been to a wedding in New Orleans then you have not tasted this yummy super moist deliciousness. As always the Bengeits were sweet,fluffy and hot. PJs is actually one of my favorite coffee shops but it isn't convenient for me so whenever I'm out in an area where there is one I like to stop. Their coffee is very good and this time I tried the bacon and cheese egg bites and really enjoyed them. The gal working at the counter was friendly and we didn't have to wait long for our coffees and food since there wasn't anyone else in there at the time. We went to PJ's for a mother-daughter coffee date at 11 am 1/20/25 and it has been open since 1/10/25. It is in a strip mall and there is one store there and lots of empty stores. Hopefully the business takes off cause it's one of those places that you might pass and would like to try but drive past and would have to do a u-turn. The place was quiet with about 5 people there. The staff was very amicable and helped suggest coffees for us to try. We decided to get a bite and of course had to try the beignets (they were okay...have had better but in Louisiana not San Antonio). The cinnamon scone was the BEST! It was warm, delicious, and had great cinnamon flavor. The everything bagel was something we picked that wasn't a sugary treat. The cream cheese spread they had was not enough but also had an artificial taste to it. There were no knives so we had to use the end of a fork to spread it. Overall, the coffee was so delicious and flavorful, which is why we went to a coffee house... for the coffee. They also sell bags and take home k cups. We had a coupon for 20% off that we got at work but they didn't take cause it was just got opening week. But the employee did tell us teachers and other professions get 10% off everyday. Which is nice! They also have rewards program. If you want Louisiana coffee and yummy go with coffee treats...try this place. Went to BBW and this was in the way home so decided to stop. This is only my second time here, I am taking off a star bc of the packaging. Before they had the pastries in plastic containers and then packaged them in a sturdy brown bag with handles. Now it's a generic plastic bag and paper sleeves. The pastries were okay I remember them being a bit better, the cinnamon roll is hard as hell, I normally don't tip before I'm able to enjoy my food and if would have had this first I def wouldn't have tipped. Prob wont go back since they are a little pricey and not consistent with quality in my opinion. read more

Well such a quiet little coffee shop, I walked inside to only one person here and it was so quiet. Felt like the perfect hideaway for work. Not a ton of distanced seating but enough for me since it wasn't busy. The drive thru stayed consistent for the time being while I sat and had my coffee. While i was visiting Texas, my friend suggested we come here one morning for some coffee. We went through the drive thru and scanned the menu. We opted for 2 skinny lattes with regular milk and coconut milk. Both of our drinks tasted off. Mine (coconut milk) was sour while hers was way too sweet. We decided to go back in the drive thru to get something else and the ladies working were very sweet and accommodating. We changed out our drinks for a mocha latte and a vanilla buzzed latte drink (thats not the official name). And those were MUCH better. This spot definitely didnt live up to the hype that I was hearing about..but i do appreciate the kindness and generosity of the staff. Maybe if I come back to Texas ill swing by and try something else! read more

So excited this coffee spot opened up and they also have a drive thru. You know it's always nice to have a little non Starbucks variety here in town. Their menu is pretty interesting and has a lot of options. I was excited to try their butter rum latte as it reminded me of Harry Potter's butter beer. I ordered a small honey oat milk latte which was categorized under hot beverages but it can be offered as an iced beverage. There's a good amount of oat milk and honey that still allowed me to taste the bitterness of the coffee, but I think it's a bit sweeter for my liking. I finally had the chance to try this place out. Awful cappuccino, it tasted like watered down coffee that has been sitting in grounds for too long. The breakfast sausage was meh and does not taste like maple. It was supposed to be on ciabatta but came on a bagel instead. The bagel was tough and dry. The biscuit was dry, bland and really small The bacon was the only thing that was pretty good. Where I live I'm pretty much situated between two Starbucks and a Dunkin' Donuts and have been really wanting a different coffee/breakfast option for the area. Tried PJs this morning and was really happy with it! I went through the drive through, and the lady who took my order was extremely friendly. I wound up ordered the medium iced pralines and creme which had the nutty pecan flavor and sweetness of creme. I also opted for a spinach and feta croissant which was beautiful! I love New Orleans and PJs Coffee is the bomb so I was hoping for a little taste of NOLA. Let me first say that the cafe latte did not disappoint. Where they fell short is the breakfast sandwich. I was told they're pre-made so no substitutions, ok I get it, most coffee chains are like this, so pop that little guy in the microwave and pass out the warm goodness! Whomp whomp! Got home, giddy with excitement, only to open my sandwich and find raw bacon. Ick (if you've ever been sick because of undercooked bacon, I promise you wouldn't take the chance) so the sandwich had to go in the trash. *sadface*. The rest of the order was perfectly delicious according to my children. They would recommend the mixed berry smoothie and blueberry and raspberry white chocolate scones. I've been looking forward to trying PJ's ever since I stumbled upon ads for this new-to-the-area coffee chain. In a rush this morning, I opted for the drive thru. I was thrilled to see their menu included an array of coffee, cold brew, and espresso drinks. After much deliberation, I ordered the Cafe Viennese which was perfectly sweetened (not overly so!) and very smooth. The staff was friendly and while it's difficult to appreciate the atmosphere of a coffee shop from its drive thru, it certainly was big enough to linger inside. The Mocha Velvet Ice has a good taste, not spectacular, but mine came only 3/4 full but that could be due to using DoorDash. The Maplewood Bacon and Egg sandwich was TINY with no flavor and a small sliver of bacon, perhaps a 1/4 or 1/6 of a bacon slice and maybe half an egg, definitely not worth the price especially with no flavor. I got a croissant as well, it was over cooked and tuff, it may have had a good flavor had it not been over cooked, and the very middle of the inside did have a little flakiness, so I'm assuming it would have been a good croissant had it not been over cooked. read more
