We had the pulled chicken sandwich, noting the portion options (5 oz small and 8 oz large). The small was very generous and more than satisfying. We paired it with a side of onion rings, which were cooked perfectly. The white sauce was excellent, and the vinegar-based BBQ sauces were thin and authentic classic Alabama-style BBQ. I ordered the pulled pork sandwich basket with a side salad, and it was excellent. The pork was served hot (not just warm), clean, not fatty, and very moist. The lightly toasted bun added great texture and pulled everything together. The kids had chicken tenders and fries, and everything came out fresh, hot, and delicious. The staff really stood out, friendly, welcoming, and happy to explain the food and sauces. You can tell they care about both their food and their customers. Overall, Boarhog's BBQ offers generous portions, authentic flavors, and great service. Highly recommended, and we'll definitely be back.

3.5/5. Really struggled with a rating because for me 3 = adequate experience but probably won't…read morereturn and 4 = positive experience and would be down to come back, and I honestly am not sure if I can see myself coming here again because it's kind of niche and the food didn't blow my mind...but I like the modern atmosphere and I did enjoy my order, so I'll give it a 4. Anyway, this business is off Whitesburg Drive right next to Bonchon; iirc they're owned by the same folks but I might be wrong. The parking lot is a little hard to navigate. I went for a treat after getting my hair done about a week ago. The menu most heavily features Japanese style soufflé pancakes, which are a good bit thicker and pleasantly jiggly compared to American pancakes. They also offer croffles, or croissant waffles, usually in the form of a sandwich for a more savory option, a couple of croffle eggs benedicts, and other desserts such as burnt-top cheesecakes and I thiiiiiink maybe macarons and rolled cakes with cream fillings (think Swiss cake rolls). They have coffee and a few speciality lattes to drink as well. The inside was very clean and modern. It was pleasantly busy but despite seating being pretty limited I found a spot easily enough. You order at the counter but an employee will bring your food to you when it's ready. Service was a bit of a mixed bag. The person who took my order was pretty surly and disinterested, but the man who brought my food out to me and was bussing tables went out of his way to say a friendly few words to me and check in. I ordered the tiramisu soufflé pancakes and an iced Nutella hazelnut latte. Both were quite pretty to look at and came out quickly. The latte was pretty sweet, which is how I like them, though not sweeter than the tiramisu pancakes -- I'd say an appropriate level of sweet for a more dessert-y coffee drink. The pancakes themselves were, well, fluffy. They are quite different from American style pancakes but certainly have their own merits; subtly sweet, bouncy, and fun to eat. These came with a sort of chocolate syrup/drizzle in a pot for personal portion control, a sprinkling of pretty and ripe blackberries and raspberries, and a sweet and creamy sort of tiramisu topping. It all melded together into a decadent but not cloying meal. The order comes with two pancakes and I thought that was plenty to eat given how rich it was, though I did find it a little pricy. Overall, I'd recommend this place as a good option to try soufflé pancakes -- I don't think they can be found elsewhere in Huntsville, so if you're curious, give them a go. I don't know if these are the best representatives ever given my own inexperience, but it certainly beats never having tried them at all.

Mimosa situation: $13 for a single, $50 for bottle of sparkling wine, fruit, and juice flight. For a savory brunch app option the have fried green tomatoes, devilled eggs, & biscuit/gravy. I ordered the traditional breakfast ($18) Comes with two strips of bacon, conecuh sausage, eggs cooked your way, your choice of bread (wheat, white, sourdough, cinnamon raisin, etc.), and your choice of rustic potatoes, grits or fruit. Wonderful! Came out hot - crispy bacon - loved the sourdough, crispy little potatoes really great. Our waiter was super attentive, very friendly, and took our breakfast plates off our ticket because it took a little longer than he expected (our ticket went under someone else's) BUT we weren't in a rush this date. Super nice of him to do. Overall, 5 star brunch

While waiting for our food, I noticed the people next to us were kind of playing with their food. Shortly there after, they left leaving most of their food uneaten. I ordered the steak salad. I was asked if I'd like to upgrade my cut. No. Meat is your specialty. Why would I need to upgrade? I soon found out that answer - if I wanted to be able to chew the steak, I should have gotten the upgrade. The steak that I was able to chew did taste very good, I just wish the whole salad was like that. Also, I specifically asked for no onions, raw onions make me sick. Luckily, they were large enough to pick out - it's just frustrating My husband got the steak sandwich. Besides being completely overwhelmed by a nondescript hoagie roll, like mine, his steak was tough. The toppings added nothing to the sandwich. We also ordered a side of asparagus. The handful of spears were burnt and inedible. Though quite far for us, if the food were good, I'd have absolutely no qualms in returning. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case. We won't be back.

I still like this place and have even gotten "real food" there…read more Pros: Staff are friendly! They nicely ground the bag of (overpriced) coffee I bought with zero complaints. The breakfast sandwiches and BLT are decently executed, but I'm REALLY not a fan of their bagels. Their bread (particularly the baguette) is fantastic, though. Note: it sells out quickly. You can still pick up your to-go order without having to deal with people. They now have a cute bookshop inside. They make their own cream cheese! Cons: If I'm paying $1.50 for an avocado add on, PLEASE don't let it be oxidized and brown and gross. This makes me sad. Parking is still a nightmare. See above about the bagels. I'm prepared for the hate I'm about to get, but I prefer Bruegger's...which is sad, as I'm sure they're produced and come in frozen. Prices have gone up, but that's to be expected. I would love, however, the option to not add on a side for less moolah. I don't want their straight from the bag chips, random baby carrots, or (somewhat icky) fruit. Depending on the timing, you may be able to get a seat. Or you may be fighting a soccer mom with 4 screaming toddlers just to pick up a to go order. Still a fan, but know what you're getting.

I would have liked to have had a better breakfast bagel sandwich selection as that is what I was looking for but most of the offerings were on toasted bread.
