We did manage to throttle back and not eat all of it lol, as we wanted to still enjoy our starter and pizza. The oils provided were the perfect compliment for the bread, the salad (and the crust of the pizza). Salad was fresh and light. Pizza rolled out next and we still believe this to be the best pizza we ever had. Not heavy, but filling. The flavors were so rich and bright. Of course I had to have a local beer which paired well. The seating was outside, which was covered in an ivy like feel. It was lemon trees providing adequate sun coverage and of course looked beautiful. We would highly recommend checking out Donna Stella if you're in Amalfi.

HOWEVER - Da Nino Pizzeria makes all the steps worth while. We ate here twice while we spent six days in Ravello - and we'd have eaten here a third time if they'd not been closed the night we arrived! Do not bother buying pizza anywhere else in Ravello. Just don't. If Da Nino is open, then you can eat pizza. Or, if you don't want pizza - eat their rapini (broccoli rabe), their manicotti, their potatoes, chicken, etc. etc. It was all WONDERFUL. And all of this with either an al fresco patio with beautiful sun and bougainvillea OR eat inside and look out the open window at the mountainous vistas surrounding you. Can't do that? Too tired to leave and walk up 100 old timey stairs? They deliver. Case closed. Eat at Da Nino!

The non-seafood pastas were just so-so. We also ordered the pasta with truffles and pasta alla Nerano (pasta with zucchini sauce); both were forgettable unfortunately (1 star off). Bread was freshly baked in house and tasted amazing. Fresh basil leaves and lemon zest were added to olive oil, which was a nice change from traditional bread and plain olive oil. Service could be a little bit more attentive, because we were not given a plate to discard shells from our seafood pasta or a steak knife for steak. We had to ask for them specifically. LOL.

We both ordered the same main dish -- chicken limone with roasted potatoes -- and I added the fresh homemade pasta on the side. What a combination! The bread was delicious too; I couldn't resist setting up my own olive oil, Parmesan, and cracked black pepper dipping plate. This place is an absolute gem and definitely a tough one to get into.
