Their wines are excellent and I am also a fan of their pasta´s with vongole. They also have a shop where you can buy all sort of high quality Italian products and anti-pasta. We often buy here ciabatta and other stuff for breakfast on Sunday mornings. The waiters are friendly but perhaps a little macho and arrogant but this does not bother me too much. It is a bit expensive and you can find the same type of restaurant in the city of Berlin at better prices. I recommend it for this area.

The lamb cutlets are mouth-wateringly tender. On a recent visit I was disappointed to find I had missed out on the last portion as another guest liked them so much he ordered a second plate! Starters include a moorish Caponata, baby octopus marinated in a spicy balsamic dressing. The Carpaccio, Bresola and Vitello Tonnato are served in generous portions. Not being a great fan of fish generally, I surprise myself by actually looking forward to some of the wide variety of seafood on offer. It's safe to say there is something for everyone. They even have Mickey Mouse Pizzas for younger guests. I must warn you, it's hard to resist the desserts here. I found myself dining here quite a lot over the 'summer'. I patiently enjoyed sitting out on the terrace waiting for each course to digest as I planned my next assault! If you are in Berlin it's well worth while visiting Belmonte which is tucked away in a quiet corner of Schöneberg. Portions are generous and reasonably priced.

Also had the prosciutto and mushroom pizza. 1L house red (17 Euro)(better than expected). All of this for 2 was more than enough. Next time would split a pizza and only one app. Fresh bread and olives served complimentary as well as a shot of liquor with the bill. No menu for English, so bring your German or Italian skills. Sit inside if you are sensitive to cigarette smoke. Only a short stroll from my flat in a quiet neighborhood- local's restaurant without the tourist feel.

In fact the service in the restaurant has gotten better since my original review and earned an extra star. After showing up with a large group once, staff seem to remember who we are, and that makes a difference perhaps. However, our attempts to use the restaurant's delivery service have been a failure for the most part. The food has arrived very late if at all. (The delivery drivers there seem to have had a talent for getting lost in recent years.) For dining out, this is certainly a pleasant choice that won't challenge your palate or strain your budget. If you need to eat the food at home, better go pick it up yourself.
