Shuttle is simply clutch. The hours run late, the pizza comes out searingly hot, the prices are right, and the product is great. I've been Shuttle-ing for nearly 40 years and the pizza is still great - as long as you eat it the same day. Next day Shuttle? Meh, not so much, but you're there for the late night pizza fare and Pizza Shuttle just delivers. A walk-in special is a one-topping, 10" pizza and a drink for just $6, and that's a value that's hard to beat. Pizza Shuttle delivers, for sure, long before there were a zillion delivery services. But that pick-up price is hard to beat, especially when the pizza is hot and fresh. It's a college kid's delight at all hours and the price is right. The new digs allow for lots of seating if you dine in and the ceiling tiles, ported from their previous spot, give it that lived-in feel. Super happy with my experience at shuttle pizza. The staff was super friendly, the place looked clean and smelled amazing. We ordered our pizza and within 20 minutes or so, it was hot, fresh and ready to eat. I'd say the crust is pillowy and soft. Definitely not a thin and crispy crust. We stuck with the standard all meat pizza, but look forward to trying the more unique toppings they offer. The menu board had some nice walk-in specials. They had lots of delivery and takeout business, but also had tables and chairs to eat in the restaurant. Looking forward to our return visit! read more

The nights that pizza shuttle has aided me through my drunken escapades are endless so I owe them a lot. The only genuinely good place (besides taco bell) open after 1 and you need something cheap that'll work off the alcohol. They also deliver which was a huge plus when I was a freshman. Horrible experience, I went in to get myself a nice pizza from what I THOUGHT was a reputable pizza place. When I received the pizza I realized that there was something wrong with it. The gentleman at the front whose name was Tyreale, was very rude upon entering the restaurant. Usually much better experience, but the last couple years have been a hit or miss. Tonight the person on the phone was rushing to get us off and didn't take our order for drinks (even though our specials were suppose to come with them) and apparently took our address and phone number wrong (despite verbally confirming both over the phone when they read it back?). When I was a college student, Pizza Shuttle was life giving. The prices here are insanely reasonable, and the classic pizzas are like something you'd find in an 80's arcade. Medium thick crust, bubbling with cheese and always extra tasty after 11 p.m. I remember being absolutely dedicated to not putting on the freshman fifteen at KU and dodging every empty calorie that came in front of my face. Well, that was true until some dorm mates had loads of their cheesesticks delivered one night. I chowed down on those until I was full for a week, and let me tell you I have no regrets. Service is so important, and these people do it right. I love the atmosphere, and the positive attitudes from the staff. I always wish them the best. Honestly I'm not the biggest fan of the pizza, but I think taste is very subjective. Service is more important to me than taste. I will not waste my time fully reviewing a business that totally lacks integrity, so I will ignore the food, delivery, etc. at Pizza Shuttle and focus only on the matter at hand ... fraudulent business practices. I ordered two 14" one-topping pizzas online from Pizza Shuttle (through Eat Street - where I was automatically directed) at a price of $15.18 (including $1.38 for extra cheese on my pizza). My wife is allergic to tomatoes, so I asked for olive oil on her pizza instead of tomato sauce, a request that every pizza place we have ever ordered from has gladly and "free"ly complied with. With tax at $1.45 and delivery at $1.50, the total came to $18.13 as you can see on my receipt and order confirmations (online and email - see my photos). As you can clearly see, the online and email confirmations (see photos) listed a total of $18.13 including tax and delivery, but when the Pizza Shuttle driver arrived he stated the total was "$22.25", an additional $4.07 due to my wife being allergic to tomatoes and substituting olive oil for tomato sauce. Nobody bothered calling to inform us of the ridiculous $4+ upcharge and when the driver called the manager to confirm the discrepancy, the manager merely stated "that's the way it is, it's Eat Street's problem, not ours". I paid the driver the extra $4.07 (because it was not his fault and he does not get paid enough to argue with irate customers) and tipped him an additional $1.75, stating "your tip would have been much larger if your manager wasn't such an a**hole. Want a place that immediately takes you back to your college days, no matter what school you went to? Well that's the trip down memory lane I had when I went to Pizza Shuttle the other night. I ordered on line and went to pick it up (there is a $12 minimum delivery order) and when I walked in, the ceiling with it's brightly colored ceiling tiles had me looking up and checking the place out. There are a few tables in the place but it is definitely not high on amenities. But that's okay as the real winner here is the pizza. Mine was great, had all the right toppings on it and was served to me by some very friendly people who looked like they were actually having fun. Pizza Shuttle is a Lawrence staple! You can't judge it on a regular level, but rather on a local college-town level. It's greasy and totally bad for you, but so so good!
