Not bad, could be better though. I'd just recommend putting more sauce on the pizza seemed a little dryer than I remembered

Really unique pizza crust, fluffy and chewy. Quite delicious! My son is a definite pizza snob,…read moreand he loved this place. Very reasonable prices too. Good craft beer/cider selection for those inclined. Pleasant staff, very friendly. There is plenty of seating and you really don't (at least I didn't) hear the noise from bowling. We began reviewing what looked like an excellent menu even though I knew I was getting a burger. We both ordered a bowl of soup. Today's flavor was Garden Vegetable Beef. Translated-flavorless broth with lots of potatoes. Beef was decent. My wife ordered a chicken wrap. She said it was OK but gave her an aftertaste she couldn't get rid of. My burger was perfectly cooked. I ordered rare expecting overcooking. It arrived somewhere between rare and medium rare. Perfect in my book. Burger was very good. Service was OK-not terrible but not excellent. Adequate. When it came time to pay, I noticed the two prices-credit card and cash. They insisted debit cards count as credit cards. They don't at every other place we've been to that charges extra for credit cards. Our server said, "that's the way it is". Burger was excellent but not good enough to go back based on the other two items we ordered.

I chose River House Grill this trip since it was a beautiful night, and on the water. While getting off the interstate and heading in to town, I noticed this eerie presence, nothing was open, signs were dark, stop lights not working... I got to River House and a few regulars were still milling around the bar, I was told they were closed due to a power outage throughout the entire city. After some conversation, they said if I had cash, I could still buy a beer (always carry cash!). The regulars moved on, and I was finishing my drink when the power comes back on! The owner Mike had already sent most of his staff home, as the estimated power restoration was well beyond their normal operating hours, but he said he would turn the fryers back on, and start the pizza oven since I was there. I told him he didn't have to and I would head back to East Lansing, but he insisted, at this point I was the only one in the place! Ordered a pizza, and boy was it delish! By the time my pizza had arrived, a few others had managed to come in and fill up the place! Thanks to Mike, Jen (bartender) and the staff who stayed! I can't wait to come back and try the rest of the menu, and see the renovations next time I'm in the area! Cheers!

When I arrived early just to check in, they said our table was ready whenever we wanted, and they happily started serving us at 6:30. Some people were seated outside, with tent umbrellas to shield the rain, and there was an upstairs room with more of a brewhouse experience. I recommend the latter if you're visiting. The downstairs room felt sparse and too open. Things got a little funky after that. Everything requires ordering through Toast, which worked for most of us but not all. Toast is missing the personal touch of people asking for your order when you are getting table service and not ordering at the counter. The one lady serving us was generous to personally take the order for my one friend who didn't want to put his credit card online. Otherwise, your order is carted over by "teenagers" (the lady's exact quote) from the smokehouse across the street. When you place your order, it comes out as it's prepared. Your table may not all come out at once, especially if it's 7 people like ours. Drink and deal with it, I suppose. But the wait from first dish to last wasn't terribly long. I really enjoyed my sandwich. They did a great job with their smoked chicken - I'm glad I let their smokehouse influence me. It was on an excellent pretzel bun. Great beer. So other than people's rumblings about Toast, we had a good time overall and didn't let the weather rain on our parade.
