Wow I have never been so impressed by a local pizza joint in my life! I found it while driving through southern Wisconsin one day. Great food. I loved the corn and the pudding, and of course the chips! The manager at the time, Micheal, and the whole staff was so accommodating and brought me the Mac and cheese pizza that I requested! Overall great service and amazing food!!! read more

there is no butter with the biscuits, instead the idiots put the butter with the salad?? are they dumb? am i supposed to butter my crutons. because i couldnt find the butter in the obvious location, i had to eat a biscuit drier than my grandmas butthole. the service sucked because they had 2 staff members on site. also the funzone was very unfun, and the 5 year olds were screaming in the unfunzone. read more

While traveling through portage Wisconsin, I decided to stop at what used to be one of my favorite restaurants to have lunch. However, I was denied access to the restaurant because I had my service dog with me and he was not allowed to stay because the manager does not know what the laws are regarding service animals. He stood and argued with me and then I went out to my vehicle and then I decided I was going to show him what the law was so I went back in and showed him what I pulled up on Google for Wisconsin law regarding service animals and then he started backtracking and told me that he trained in Illinois and that is what he was trained. Well you lost a good customer and I will be telling everyone I know about my horrible experience. I did make a complaint with the police department and I plan to report it to further places because of the discrimination. He first tried to tell me I had to have paperwork on me at all times, and by law you are not even allowed to ask for paperwork, or to even ask if it's a service dog when they are wearing their service dog vest, which he was, you are also not allowed to ask what the disability is. I would hope that he reviews the Wisconsin laws and doesn't treat anyone else the way I was treated. I left in tears and I can guarantee I will not be back. read more

Pizza Ranch - My service dog, Harley - Pizza Near Me - Portage, Wisconsin

The food is great but the service is too Christian I swear the queer people in our community get weird looks from the staff

From Madison, the whole team drove back to Chicago. 2 hour drive, not bad! No traffic , 70 speed limit, why not? Better than catching a flight from ORD to MSN which by the way either gets cancelled or delayed. Anyway, team stopped by here for lunch. We were greeted warmly and were all lured to the smell of fried chicken. You come in, pay for buffet and AYC for chicken, bbq chicken, biscuits, mash potatoes, pizza, salad bar and dessert. Chicken was good, salad bar was good but not many options. If you don't see the pizza you like, check out the menu and they will bring it out for you. Overall not bad for this town. Better than Mcds or another junk food joint. Trust!! read more

The place was clean... the customer service from the sheriff was excellent and best of all the kids under the age of 10 years old ate for free on tuesday nights. We had no idea, but I thought it was a nice bonus. We had not been in since prior to the start of Covid. It was good. I like to ask for the special pizzas we enjoy and they will make them fresh for you. We enjoy the excellent salad bar choices, the fried chicken, and all the desserts options. It's tough to beat for the price if you want a night away from cooking and doing dishes at home. read more

The young man jerry that was working the floor was very quick to help our party of 4 with kids. He cleared our table of plates as soon as we were done with them. We couldn't thank him enough for his service. Seemed like he was the only one working anyways. read more

absolute bussin food. my friend made a big pot. need to add more flavors of ice cream.

Pizza buffet but they also have a full salad bar, chicken dinner bar, and dessert bar. You can order a pizza and have it made fresh and delivered to your table. Everything I tried was very good. The best was the Mediterranean Pizza (vegetarian, with roma tomatoes and spinach) and the catcus bread. You have to put the vanilla soft serve on top... omg awesome!!!!! I only wish I would have had more room in my stomach to try everything! read more

Being that my truck is in the shop, I have no transportation. I'm staying at the Super 8. I called and ordered an order of garlic bread and a small taco pizza. I specifically asked if it came with salsa and sour cream. I was told that it did. The garlic bread lacked garlic. The pizza was ok but dry...due to the fact that salsa and sour cream were not included. The delivery guy called twice because the person who took my order took down a ridiculous room number. I wouldn't bother calling them again. read more

I find it weird that this one you have to pay more if you want soda. The the other ones I've been to it just comes with your buffet. I was disappointed with the salad bar. They had either ice burg (no nutritional value) or a lettuce mix that had corn and tomatoes mixed in (don't like corn). So i ended up not getting a salad. I was happy they had Mac and cheese pizza. I've never seen this here. The chicken broccoli Alfredo and BBQ chicken pizza was good. And my favorite the buffalo chicken. I also love the dessert pizza. Got my blueberry but they didn't bring out a cherry one so that was disappointing. Overall not bad for the price. read more

I come to Portage often and this is always one of my favorite places to eat, whether it's lunch or dinner. I'm not too fond of pizza but their chicken is over the top! The buffet is always fresh and well stocked. Sometimes you might have to wait a bit but trust me it's never a long wait. The staff is super friendly and always very helpful. read more

Ahh Pizza Ranch, How I love thee. This has to be the most authentic Western-looking pizza ranch EVER (well in Wisconsin anyways). The Pizza Ranch in Baraboo and Reedsburg DO NOT compare to this one. The Portage Pizza Ranch is brand Spank'n new! The chicken is great, always juicy and hot (However I like Chicken Legs) and they always run short. There is always good pizza on the buffet. The staff is friendly and don't seem as pushy as the Baraboo location. Overall the value and service are 5 stars here. I will continue to make the trek from Middleton to Portage for this god like chicken. (Well until the Sun Prairie location opens then not so much). read more

I had the chance to go to Pizza Ranch during a ski trip at Cascade Mountain for dinner. We had a group of about 20. Arrangements were made beforehand and there was a large room off to the side with many tables that was able to accommodate us. They have a spacious parking lot. As soon as we stepped out of the car, the most delicious smell filled the air: fried chicken! I know the name of the restaurant is Pizza Ranch but I think it should be called Chicken Ranch because they have the best fried chicken! It is crispy, flavorful, and juicy--not dry at all! The pizza, on the other hand, is so-so. (I'm from Chicago, which in my opinion has the best pizza in the world.) The pizza at Pizza Ranch is not the best and it is not the worst, but they do have a wide variety: steak pizza, BLT pizza, chicken BBQ pizza, and dessert pizza (peach and cactus--not literally with cactus but plain with frosting and crumbly bits on top). They had a salad bar, chili with fixins at the salad bar (like sour cream, cheese, etc.), ice cream, hot soul/comfort food (like fried chicken, mashed potato, mac and cheese, green beans, waffle fries, and chips) and drinks (soda/iced tea/coffee). It's a smaller buffet but I think it has something for everyone and it is very reasonably priced. (Around $10 with drink for dinner.) Everyone is very friendly and I heard that sometimes, the manager comes in dressed as the sheriff of Pizza Ranch. read more

Smaller buffet with salad, hot food, pizzas, drinks, and some dessert. Best thing was the chili (they have sour cream and cheese on the salad bar) and fried chicken that was crispy but salty. Wheelchair accessible. read more

A good chicken and pizza buffet in Wisconsin. It's a small buffet of fried chicken, pizzas, salad, wine dessert pizza. The chicken and pizza was both delicious. It was hard to keep the chicken in stock and I had to wait for it. The owner greets guests and even clears tables making this place very welcoming and homey. I give this restaurant 3 stars, and would 3.5 if I could because it's a good buffet, but it's small and doesn't offer a lot. Good place to eat while in Wisconsin. read more

I love this Pizza Ranch! The place is clean and atmosphere feels just like you're welcomed into a home. The staff is very friendly and the food is good. I generally get the buffet and always have to end with the dessert pizza--so good! It's one of the few, most reliable restaurants in Portage. read more

I've been to better locations, as I typically enjoy coming into Pizza Ranch. I am in this area for work often and all the times I've tried this location, the broasted chicken is dry and no new pans in sight the entire time I was there. However, the staff is extremely friendly when I go there. Even the teenage staff has great customer service and manners. read more

My fiancée and I went there with friends when we visited Wisconsin and it was my first time eating there. We got the buffet and it was very well done although I preferred the fried chicken and dessert pizza to the actual pizza. The pizza was a bit lackluster to me but it was still a good deal in all. I would eat there again ! read more

I enjoy eating there. It's a Christian place. The staff there are very friendly and the food is out of this world

Every time we order our pizzas are wrong. Have called management and did the online survey the email you. Each time stressing that it is ridiculous that every one of our orders is wrong. Nobody seemed to concerned about fixing it. So the last time I said we will never order food from here again. Why pay for food you don't like and is not what you order? Waste of money. Customer service sucks. read more

Drove a long way to eat here to find a note on the door that says closed to the public today. Maybe you could have posted something online at least. read more

It was completely OK. The food was good, but not outstanding. The service was excellent. If you are looking for a pizza buffet, that also has chicken and a salad bar, this is a great place to go. If you are looking for someplace special, look someplace else. read more

This is just what I expected from a small town pizza buffet. I paid a little more than I would have liked. But while lacking in variety the food was pretty good. All the staff were smiling and friendly. The place was busy I expect this business to do quite well. It's worth a visit. If not five stars. read more

It's ok if you like frozen pizza. The salad bar was pretty good. The place was nice and clean but not worth the price we paid for less than average pizza. I'd rather go to Cici's. read more

Waited 5 minutes to get seated while employees milled about and no one batted an eye at us. Walked by the buffet and it all looked like low quality crap. We just walked out and went to Culvers. read more

I'm not a fan of these types of places. I get flashbacks from Ponderosas. This place, however, is nice. It's spacious, the good is good, and the staff is attentive. read more

Less than par food. Cannot get an order right. as other reviews have also stated, the staff doesn't correct the mistakes. I was literally laughed at by the owner when I complained. Don't waste your money. read more

I've eaten at other Pizza Ranch's with little impression. This one I've been to a number of times and my only real complaint is that I eat too much. The chicken is excellent, the salad bar is usually well stocked and fresh and I always request a buffalo chicken pizza because it's so yummy (which comes out pretty quickly). As with any buffet, if you come in during the off-hours (towards the end) the freshness can suffer, but I've not had quality complaints, and I've always found the staff to be courteous and attentive. read more

This place is a guilty pleasure for me. Clean, good food, nice people (the staff, I mean...). Reliably good meal.

everytime I come to town I make sure I go eat at this place! fun people, very friendly and awesome food!!! love this place

The food there is excellent. Our family has visited this location many times and the food is always great, the restaurant is clean and the staff is friendly. Would definitely recommend the Pizza Ranch! read more

The Portage. Wi Pizza Ranch is tops.. Clean, the best food that is always fresh, and very friendly service all around.. The help is always so nice and friendly, and the service is so fast the food bars are always full with fresh food.
