The place constantly smells like weed, the floors and walls have stains on them, the kitchen employees are not required to wear hairnets or gloves, the tables are permanently dirty no matter how much they're wiped, and the food is way too cheap to cost so much. The pizza was good. They also had other options, such as fried chicken. We had a pretty decent experience. We thought there was going to be chocolate pizza for dessert, but apparently they've stopped offering that, so that will probably stop us from returning. Outside of the food, the atmosphere was fine. The one complaint I do have is that their military discount is only for "active" military. I guess if you are a retired veteran you were active too long to receive their discount. read more

This place is hit or miss. Buffet is good, there are a selection of pizzas, salad bar, another hot bar with fried chicken, mashed potatoes, dressing, gravy, and a few other items. Fountain drinks, and a small dessert bar with soft serve (although it's more like ice milk), and a few baked desserts. Decor is Christian and patriotic themed. Borderline corny, but not terrible. The hosts are typically young teens who must have their first job, since service is lackluster and they seem more interested is talking to each other and playing on their phones. We will go again. The pizza is just OK, nothing great. Not hot enough, nor savory. Can do without dill pickles pizzas, but some may like it. The small salad bar was adequate and food. The chicken pieces were hot, crispy and juicy. BUT they lacked a good fried chicken flavor. The desert pizzas were OK, but nothing great. The soft serve ice cream was nice as well as the ottomless beverages. Lots of noisy kids and adults that night. This was my first time at Pizza Ranch. I have never considered visiting due to all the bad reviews and I must say, based on my experience, the reviews are correct. The food was decent, but the girl that was hosting on 10/16 around 6:00 pm was rude and unaccommodating from the start. My group reserved a room and when we got there she had an issue with the number of people, even though we had already reserved the room and let them know how many people would be in attendance. She actually argued with the host of my event over the fact that we could only order 3 pizzas for our large group. This makes no sense when you KNEW how many people were in our party. The situation was handled extremely poorly. I will say the staff we dealt with later was very nice and we ended up having a great time, but I will not be back. That type of treatment is not worth the arguments, prices and mediocre food. read more

I saw some of the other reviews which weren't great. I got dragged over there with a bunch of family members and wasn't expecting much as we've all been to large pizza parlors where they put very few toppings on the pizza. I was pleasantly surprised. There were lots of toppings on all of the different pizzas. For non pizza lovers there was a complete fried chicken dinner. The chicken was crisp and tasty. The inside was tender and moist. The lettuce in the salad bar was dark green and crisp unlike many restaurants which contribute to my pet peeve by serving very very light green wilted lettuce. So to my surprise I came upon this place!!! Didn't know they where here in Illinois. But pizza ranch is amazing as hell. You can get pizza and chicken! The deep fried chicken is so delicious with mashed potatoes and gravy!!! I'm serious as can be it is really good. I love this place! Now for pizza I so enjoy the taco pizza with some ranch! Food is OK. I am surprised that the health dept hasn't cited this place for the filthy floors. Debris are everywhere and caked in the corners. I stayed not to be rude, but I can't come back here till they up their level of cleanliness. This is a small restaurant, it would not take much to do basic vacuuming. My son likes to stop here sometimes, but I doubt I will agree to go back. They have fairly decent food for a buffet, but the price is rather high for the quality. As far as service goes, the place was ridiculous! The pizza we requested at our table never came. We had to sit at a 6 top because ALL other tables were dirty. After starting to eat they finally cleaned a 4 top and asked us to move, then never cleaned the table we started at or had anyone else to sit there. We've been to Pizza Ranchs in Il(3) and WI(2), all great but this one in Peoria. Chicken was good as usual and the pizza was good. The problem is that the place must have the worst cleaning crew ever. The bathrooms cannot have been sweeper for a week,much less mopped. The floors around the buffets are filthy like they have never been mopped. Surfaces of stationary items have lots of greasy dust on them. All for 13.25, more than the other stores we've been. I had the buffet. The pizza was barely edible. Salad bar is good. The fried chicken is good. They have soda machines. I had the impression looking at their website that meals could be ordered, but I was only offered the buffet which as it turns out was fortunate because I had planned on ordering a pizza to take home after lunch. Lunch change my mind about that. I was hoping they had beer too but only the soda machine. There are cheesy mashed potatoes. They were tasty. There may be other things available that I didn't try that would be enjoyable but I don't know. It's a family place and there is a lot of noise and a baby was crying. That wasn't a problem for me, but I suspect it would be a problem for some people. The gal at the register was not friendly with me at first didn't respond to my hello, didn't smile, and didn't make eye contact. We had a short discussion as I figured out what was available and paid during which time she held her head in such a way that the baseball cap she was wearing shielded her eyes from me. Who knows what her problem was. Maybe she was having a bad day. I was cheerful with her despite her behavior, and was surprised when she said thank you as we finish our transaction. My comments to Pizza Ranch: Your Feedback: My husband and I often visit the Peoria Illinois Pizza Ranch because of the quality of the food and the cleanliness of the restaurant. On our most recent visit, I had received a coupon via email for a free child's meal good until 6/25/2023, she would not remove the charge for the 9 year old's meal. The manager insisted that her location did not fully honor, but did give a precentage instead of the full meal charge. When we pressed the issue, Manager Selena Wheatly became condescending and rude, talking to my husband and I (Both in our 70's) as if we were stupid or children. Either of which is unacceptable. Not only was she rude, loud and down right disrespectful to senior citizens but my husband is a Vietnam veteran. Never have I ever been talked that way. All the managers in the past cared. Also, I noticed at this location the napkins and salt and pepper shakers are no longer available at the tables but are instead placed on top of the serving counters. Overall, the experience was nowhere near what we expected, and will probably result in our traveling to Morton Illinois if we want to have Pizza Ranch. Went for my birthday dinner, wanted something casual and something that everyone likes-pizza! Kids eat free on Tuesdays, so that was a total bonus for us since we have two toddlers who can't eat a full plate by themselves anyways. We got there and the employee at the counter wasn't welcoming (a lady with black hair in a ponytail). She didn't explain how Pizza Ranch worked at all (I had only been one other time forever ago) and neglected to tell us that we could make pizza requests wasn't patient with us. Luckily, the woman who brought out our pizzas (Alissa) was super pleasant and upbeat. She was great and changed my experience! I almost regretted coming to dine here. I walk in at 8 pm and pay full price for two buffets. $31 with tip on credit card. After 10 minutes of eating old pizza with limited options I ask if they are closed or something. Guy cleaning says they close buffet at 8..... would have been nice to be informed when paying for the buffet that there was no more food coming out. Bad business. The pizza ranch used to be really good when they were at the old location in Morton. Ever since they opened the new location they have gone downhill. The Peoria location is awful. I've heard from employees that the kitchen is not clean and that they warm up pizzas that weren't picked up to avoid having to throw away food. I'm not sure why they don't just let the employees take it home with them as that is pretty standard in the restaurant industry when someone doesn't pick up their order. They also hide behind a "Christian" facade which is ironic because the owner got fired from the post office for stealing money out of Christmas/Birthday cards and for using the company vehicle for personal use. He also did some jail time yet every time you google anything about Julie and John McVey, it shows how they donate, help the community, and support others by collecting proceeds from their business. I wouldn't be surprised if they were stealing the funds from that too. read more

We were staying at the hotel next door. Decided to meet some others at Pizza Ranch as they gave some rave reviews about this restaurant. They have pizza and ranch, it's got to be good, right? We were allowed to order up to two pizzas per table. When the pizza arrived, it was really good and arrived at our table quickly. The restaurant is a buffet with pizza, chicken, and fixings as well as the usual salad items. Unfortunately, our evening was cut short as there was what was thought to be a gas smell inside the restaurant. The staff was alerted by a couple of tables and to my surprise ignored. The thing was that you couldn't really smell it unless you went outside and came back in. Never heard of a pizza ranch, but with a fun name like me that, I had to try it. When we got there the place was PACKED! It was a little confusing on which line was for getting a table and which line was for the names that had been called. Table for two, and a 5 min wait was all. They asked when we're seated what pizza we wanted them to make (anything you want) and will bring you the pizza when it's ready so you can pick the first piece. Went to Pizza Ranch in Peoria for their brunch, the breakfast was horrible, the sausage gravy was out of can, frozen waffles that were hard as bricks, pre cooked sausage, undercooked bacon,scrambled eggs were very dry they looked like powdered eggs. This review is a bit late but better late than never. In May, with the shelter at home order, we had to come up with a creative way to celebrate our 5 year old's birthday. We decided on a zoom party. But we didn't want her friends to just watch her have fun. One of the things we did was call pizza ranch. We asked if they could help us afford delivery to multiple addresses. They not only gave us the current deals, they gave us a nice discount on delivery. We told them when we wanted our friends to receive their pizza. Every delivery was on time!!!! And they gave the loyalty points for all of the orders. We'll continue to use them. And I recommend that you consider them next time that you want delivery. Best pizza in Peoria! The buffet is incredible. They ask you when you walk in to get seated if you would like to order a customized pizza. They will bring it to your table when it's finished cooking and ask how many pieces you want.
